I was actually referred SoCalPruners to trim a few street trees and a very unruly Jacaranda. I have had the Jacaranda cut many times over the years and it has never been as nice and properly trimmed as what Clemente and his guys did. They did a great job to a tree planted in the wrong space many years ago. Clemente knew exactly what we wanted. He did such a clean job that I asked for a few other estimates. A few years ago I lost a palm tree because it became diseased after the trimmers used spikes to climb the tree. In my Yelp request, I specifically said NO SPIKES, but I looked outside and the guy was up on my tree with spikes! They said didn't have a tall enough ladder, but they should have let me know they couldn't do the job per my directions. That's as bad as customer service gets. The benefits of these removed Eucalyptus trees are as follows: My fear of high winds has increased since the yearly droughts and because a drought, dry large trees, and potential homelessness gave me severe anxiety if the trees fell on to the property and created enough damage to where we would be displaced. How this project WILL pay for itself over time: We were washing our vehicles up to 3x a week for the past few years due to the production of sticky sappy leaves that constantly fell on our vehicles and we don't have to do that any longer. We hired So Cal Pruners for a large job last week, to cut down a couple trees, trim two palm trees, and clean up the mess. After inspecting our site and agreeing to a $1,500 price they promptly showed up the next day with a large crew of 6-7 people and went to work. They finished about half way through the day and felt the job was done, despite my insistence and expression of displeasure that I had expected the debris to be picked up as well, they wanted to get paid and be on their way. I showed a couple pictures via text that I had sent in advance showing areas I expected to be cleaned to which I had received a thumbs up emoji. Ultimately I was promised/guaranteed and gave their word that two guys would show up on Monday to clean up more of the weeds but not the trash and other debris. (They said feces and dead animals were in the bushes and they would not remove those areas, since they inspected the site prior to agreeing to our deal, it would have been nice to know this before hand as I would not have agreed to pay $1,500). On Monday the guys didn't show up as we were promised and another company came in to finish off the job for an extra $500, and the picked up everything including the debris, trash and feces for the dead animals. read more

I needed a big tree trimmed that was blocking our ocean view. I asked a gardener in the area for a quote; but the more I thought about it, I realized I needed a professional tree trimmer. I guess cutting a tree properly takes some knowledge. I contacted a neighbor on our street, and she recommended "Jesus" from SoCal Pruners. I loved her comment: "I REALLY like him." I called him, and he promptly arrived at our agreed time. He is super fluent in English, and he gave me the identical quote as the previous gardener. I liked him so much, so I added to the project and had him totally pull out my half-dead plants in my front yard. He has great ideas and is knowledgeable about plants and aesthetic arrangement. Two other guys arrived, who work for Jesus, along with a HUGE truck followed by a stump grinder. I was impressed with his workers. They were clean, respectful, and also spoke English. They cleaned up completely before leaving. By the way, they work super fast. After leaving, I noticed that one of my sprinklers was leaking. I called Jesus on his cell, and he immediately told his guys to return to my home. Problem fixed. I don't normally tip gardeners, but these guys go out of their way to please. I have hired them twice now - #1 Tree removal w/ stump grind (4 trees- camphor, fig, 2 palms) and #2 Plant removal + disposal of an outrageously overgrown Agave Nova. A+ work both times, take a look at the photos and see for yourself! Jesus is nice, knowledgeable and quick to respond! I also love that when they leave they clean up (which I can't say the same for all companies). I had a fire in my 60ft tall cypress trees and needed to find a tree company to remove all 10 of them. I got some quotes and decided to go with So Cal Pruners. They showed up on time with a crew of 6-8 people and went straight to work. Aside from the fact it was 93º the day of removal, this was an extremely difficult and messy job that required climbing.
