If you've ever boated or just hung out near Vermilion, you've almost always seen the Vermilion Boat Club. Nestled right near Chez Francois, the delicious waterfront French restaurant, VBC sits right on the channel while en route to Lake Erie. Of all the clubs in a short distance, VBC definitely has the biggest social feel. Because of this, the pool can get overcrowded REALLY fast. But there's no shortage of other activities - VBC has some wonderful programming. Regattas, sail camps, swim lessons, live music, Kentucky derby parties... it all happens here. I love their private dining, where they serve dinner on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, as well as a gourmet chef's selection on Fridays. VBC has a smaller number of slips, but also has guest docking available. Their ideal location is right amongst the busy channel that connects all the clubs--so it's the total ideal place to sit at their dockside pub on the river and watch the boats go by.
