Mr. Rafael Sota with Soarion was very helpful in informing me about their financial products like their high yield savings account (3%), rewards checking accounts. When it came time to set up my high yield savings account, it was set up in a reasonable time of around 10 minutes (keep in mind there's identity verification and signatures to sign like documents for signing up for courtesy pay; that's why I said 10 minutes is a reasonable time to set up an account). This branch is not busy, but to be fair it is on base, so no surprise that the there is not much traffic at this Soarion branch. read more

Kimberly at the credit solutions department has the worst phone etiquette. She interrupts when you are talking. I don't think she knows what she is talking about or has no confidence in what she knows because when you have a question she says "um" a lot when trying to answer. She may be a great employee but may need more training on her phone etiquette and confidence of what she is trying to explain. read more

Automatic payments get declined. The bank recommends contacting them via message. That led to getting the runaround. After calling, the situation is still unresolved, and I have gotten hit with late fees due to the incompetence of the financial institution. I've watched the service go down with this institution only to get worse with their new name change. I'll be pulling my money and going elsewhere. Banking here has been a costly mistake, and their customer service is terrible. I have been a member since 1999. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

It took 5 days and multiple phone calls to open a CD. It was the most tedious and aggravating CD buying experience I've ever had - and I have opened a LOT of CDs. And had I not kept checking up and prodding them it might never have been completed and my nest egg would have sat in my base member account earning .05% - not even the scant .5% many other low-paying banks still offer in a time when other banks are paying 4.00% on money market accounts and 5%+ on CDs. The third time I called Soarion to try and fix this, I spoke to Gerard, ex.5573. He said he would send my request to the CD dept. I explained that this is what I was told two times previously but it was never done. I requested that because of the previous two mistakes the request be expedited, preferably during this phone call. He said that this couldn't be done and it could take another 2-3 business days. He refused to get the CD dept. to expedite the request. Since there had already been two attempts to correct the problem, that was a very reasonable request. I asked to talk to a supervisor but Gerard claimed he was the head of the department and refused to let me talk with anyone else. When I pressed him for a means to contact somebody else about my problem all he would do was give me the member services email address. read more

Air Force Federal Credit Union was better. This bank is so in disarray since they took over AFFCU is unreal. They stopped reimbursing ATM fees. I spoke to 2 different people to close my account and one didn't even close it as I requested so I had to call a separate time and do the process all over again. I've been a member since the mid-nineties my problem with their new policy on replacement debit and credit card is this , they used to make an replacement card for you at the Bank (Airforce Credit Union) while you waited...now it's sent off to a third party and you have the option of having it expedited too you or the normal 5-7 days or 5-10 days depending on who you talk to... while I'm pushing 2 weeks and they informed me that the Post Office lost it! I had automatic payments on my car set up with AFFCU for two years. No problems with company. Soarian changed the name and the autopay gets disconnected and they hit me with late charges. No notice from AFFCU, although they say Soarian sent me emails. Must have been sent to junk mail. They should have sent the name change from AFFCU, instead of Soarian. Michael wouldn't waive late charges and say that I never set up autopay with them, after two years of automatic payments. Very frustrating. read more

Worst ever. I made an over payment on my car loan. Instead of applying that to my principal, they applied it to the next months payment. I thought my payment went down, so I made another payment the following month for the same amount. This ended up being a short payment. Instead of contacting me to get it figured out, they waited until day 31 and hit me with a late payment on my credit report and nobody would help. Now it has affected my credit score. Shame on you. You sacrificed a perfectly good financial relationship over $20. The good thing is eventually that will fall off my credit report, but I will never forget how I was treated by AFFCU. As soon as I can get my credit score back up, I will be refinancing with a real bank read more

Jessica was very rude to me when I was trying to process my car payment over the phone, I didn't know there was a limit to how much I could pay for, but this is a bank right? She should've told me or helped me rather then shooing me away or telling me to put more money on my card when I had more than enough. They always rush on the phone calls even where there's only two people in waiting. Just don't make sense to rush. read more

My experience with AFFCU was a tale of two credit unions. I refinanced my auto loan there in 2015 and ultimately paid off the loan in November 2016. I found AFFCU through rateGenius, and they made the refinance process simple and efficient. Everything went smoothly until I paid off the loan and requested a copy of the title to my vehicle. After a month went by and I hadn't received it, I called customer service and they informed me it had not yet been mailed, but would be within the next business day. Nearly another month has gone by, and I have yet to receive the title. I had hoped to sell the vehicle shortly after the loan payoff, but was unable to do so because my title was with AFFCU. At my request, they finally sent a lien release (but still not the title) to my buyer, and then I was forced to paid $40 for a duplicate title to be able to transfer the vehicle upon sale. Things can get lost in the mail, but my trust in AFFCU was shaken when they failed to send the title at the time of payoff as requested. Customer service remained attentive and friendly on the phone, although unable to resolve my issue. I was disappointed to be stuck with a depreciating asset for two extra months due to circumstances within AFFCU's control. I would not recommend them to anyone considering an auto loan. UPDATE: My title arrived in the mail the day I wrote the original review, postmarked three weeks after the date AFFCU said they sent it (the second time). Someone clearly dropped the ball. I wish customer service could have just been honest about what happened. read more
