Whether it's getting girls to participate, use the bathroom, or engage them in a recital, she has a process and thought out plan for all. I actually love that she doesn't have a visible window (from the inside) for dancers to get distracted during practice. The recital was run in a top notch fashion. Girls were engaged, everything ran fluidly, and the program absolutely delivered! Very great addition to SE Wisconsin, and a very strongly run program overall. Dancing is an amazing workout both mentally and physically; and through the encouragement of my instructor and studio- I now distance swim, lift, and am healthier and happier overall in many ways. I'm so thankful for the amazing, inspiring, and talented group of people at Fred Astaire Mequon- you've touched my life and will never get rid of me! I can never wait until my next lesson! We were getting ready for our wedding so instead of teaching us various dances, they pushed us to learn one song and a few dance moves. We kept coming in asking to see different dances, but we were told that's too much to learn for one song. Forget the song, we came to learn more dancing, get practice and confidence. Some lessons were shorter than others and the instructor repeated the same lesson as before - he kept saying he forgot if he taught us this already, but they have a folder with our name on it so I didn't buy the act. A few lessons in they give you a "half" lesson which is really just a warm up, someone reviewing what you learned and then a massive sales pitch. It was a waste of our night when we thought we were getting a lesson. Then, after we didn't buy the lessons, the remaining classes continued to just be practice with maybe one tip. I wish we had learned more dances for the amount of time we spent at this studio. The first night they gave us a folder with the stuff we would learn... well, we learned a few steps and we have a folder we can try playing with. All in all, I don't really recommend Fred Astaire unless you are using up a gift certificate.

After DMing their account I got a quick reply with recommendations on which class would be best for my skill and experience level. I really appreciated that! The space is illuminated with tons of natural light and it is very clean! Combo was flirty and fun and I think my leg flares are starting to get smoother. Similarly I asked to work on my flatline and Justin worked it into the routine! (Climb. Flair. Jasmine. Outside leg hang. Some pretty shape. Butterfly. The organizations of the classes are logical and the progressions make sense. There are a variety of classes ranging from very beginner to advanced, yoga, stretching, strength, and others. The space is also open for open pole/gym for you to create on your own terms. They also sell apparel and recently Pleaser heels in studio! A safe and welcoming environment to all. They cater very well to brand new beginners and create a safe space that invite people back over and over.

This dance studio is mediocre at best. My daughter joined to have fun and learn, not be a part of…read morethe more dedicated dance team. Miss Michelle has been known to be rude to the kids on numerous occasions throughout the year. Recently she commented on my daughters pink hair in front of the whole class telling her she had to change it for the recital (Just some ordinary recital). Mind you my daughter got her hair colored pink professionally, to support me, who was diagnosed with breast cancer and am currently going through chemo. First, this class isn't some "elite" class or dance team so why should my daughter have to change her hair regardless, second if she had a problem with her hair she could have acted like an adult and came to me with the issue or talked to my daughter outside of class. Honestly for the money, this place isn't worth going to. The classes aren't necessarily inexpensive, costumes for the recitals are ugly and expensive and Miss Michelle doesn't appear to know how to be professional.
