I got what I needed but it's very crowded and small spaces for seating. Make sure you bring something to do. Could be a little cleaner

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a high-energy, friendly host staff that immediately made us feel welcome and set the tone for the evening. I started with the Prince Edward Island oysters on the half shell, which were fresh and excellent. My wife enjoyed the grass-fed filet mignon, while I ordered the 45-day dry-aged ribeye. Both steaks were outstanding - incredible flavor, perfectly prepared, and exceptionally tender. The experience went far beyond just the food. One of the owners, Billy, introduced himself and then personally brought over two glasses of champagne to congratulate us on our anniversary, which was a very thoughtful gesture (even though my wife doesn't drink alcohol and champagne isn't my preference). The restaurant manager also made a point to stop by and congratulate us. Our server, Aidy (pronounced "eighty"), was awesome. Extremely knowledgeable of the menu, attentive, and genuinely enjoyable throughout the evening. As is tradition at Halls, they brought out and displayed the various cuts of steak while explaining the characteristics of each - a great touch that added to the experience. We ordered the mashed potatoes and the pepper jack creamed corn skillet for sides, both excellent. Dessert was the perfect finish: vanilla crème brûlée and whiskey bread pudding. One thing that really stood out was how well orchestrated the entire restaurant operation felt. From the hosts, to the servers, to the managers and support staff, everyone worked together seamlessly to create a polished and memorable dining experience. The staff worked hard, and each person clearly knew and performed their role perfectly. It was impressive! The dining room itself had a loud, energetic vibe that added to the atmosphere of the evening and fit the overall Halls experience perfectly. Honestly, there's not much we could have asked to be better. Halls delivered an exceptional dining experience all the way around.

Not only did they take great care of us, but they also shared some local restaurant recommendations, which we always appreciate when traveling. The oysters were fresh, cold, and exactly what we were looking for as a light bite before dinner. We enjoyed a drink, relaxed for a bit, and soaked in the atmosphere. It was a great spot to stop for a snack and a cocktail, and the friendly service made the experience even better.

The ambiance is nice without being too formal but also feeling like you're enjoying a nice meal. We had a wide array of items which included their caviar service, fresh oysters, crab claws and some appetizers including their fried oyster slider and a unique oyster appetizer. All of these were DELICIOUS! Their caviar service was one of the best I've seen, the oyster slider was delicious and my only complaint is that the oyster itself was small. The oyster appetizer was unique but had great flavor with the old bay seasoned crackers. For entrees I had the cornmeal friend fish. It was a great size price of fish, came out hot and fresh and fried to perfection. It does come on a bed of cream corn, but there were no real side dishes you could add or order. So it was filling, but not as hearty as other meals. I also asked for a sauce to accompany the fish just to break up the taste and texture a bit void of a true side. For dinks we had one off menu and I had them make a traditional whisky sour. Both good. This place came highly recommended and didn't disappoint. I would make it a stop on my next visit.

Items that were good but not as much as the above: espresso martini tap, foie gras bombe, guava end bite, ricotta beginning bite, wagyu bite, asparagus, gratin, truffle mac n cheese Item we would NEVER order again: prime beef tartare. It was terrible. It tasted like we were eating spoonfuls of horseradish and mustard. Couldn't taste anything else except for that. We ended up sending it back and getting the foie gras which was sweet and savory with fried toast points, which was MUCH better than the tartare. All other food was wonderfully cooked and seasoned. Service was so nice and attentive. Very, very busy restaurant. Beautifully decorated, music was nice restrooms were so clean and loved the little mouthwash packets. Would be the perfect place for a wedding reception, just don't order the tartare.

From the moment we arrived, the restaurant was buzzing with energy while still feeling organized and welcoming. The host greeted us with anniversary wishes, and we were seated promptly. Waiting at our table was a handwritten anniversary card signed by the staff, an incredibly thoughtful touch that set the tone for the evening. The service was exceptional--warm, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely engaging. Our server struck the perfect balance of professionalism and personality, making the meal feel both special and relaxed. The food was outstanding. We enjoyed the bread service and special pasta, both of which were extraordinary. The meatballs were brought out as a complimentary surprise, and the charred cabbage and pasta special were among the most memorable dishes we've had in a long time. What impressed us most was how distinctive and flavor-forward every dish was. Nothing felt ordinary. The flavors were bold, balanced, and memorable, and the quality of ingredients and execution were evident throughout the meal. To finish the evening, the staff surprised us with a salted gelato and Nutella dessert for our anniversary. It was the perfect ending to an already exceptional meal and another example of the thoughtful hospitality that made the entire experience so memorable.

When we first arrived, we were seated outside under the tent area, but it was extremely hot and sunny. My mother-in-law has trouble seeing in bright sunlight, so we asked if there was any way we could move to a shadier spot. Our waiter immediately checked with the hostess and happily moved us without any issue at all, which we really appreciated. He was extremely accommodating the entire meal, answered all of our questions, and kept checking to make sure everything was good. The crab cake was probably the standout item for me -- almost entirely crab with basically no filler or breading and really great flavor. It's not a huge entrée portion by itself, but with appetizers it was definitely filling enough. The shrimp dish was also delicious and full of flavor, and the salmon appetizer was really fresh and very good too. The drinks were good as well. My pineapple daiquiri was MUCH stronger than I expected, but honestly still really good. As a nice Mother's Day touch, they were giving complimentary mimosas to guests walking in and also handing out red roses to all of the moms, which was really thoughtful. It is definitely on the pricier side, but not outrageous for Charleston brunch, especially considering the quality of the food and service. Overall we had a really nice experience and would definitely go back.
