My late wife was awarded social security disability due to having 2 simultaneous cancer diagnosis. She wanted to continue to work and every month she made contact with the SS office to ensure that she was not working more hours then she was supposed to. Every month for 3 YEARS The Hermitage social security office reassured her that she was properly following protocol and was not working more hours then allotted. 3 YEARS later the Hermitage social security office claimed they were over paying my wife and retroactively went after her for 3 YEARS worth of money. Simultaneously the Hermitage social security office claimed an over payment against my juvenile son. In 2024 my wife came out of remission with stage 4 cancer in her liver. My wife passed away February 2026 due to the cancer but also the stress caused by the Hermitage Social security office on Garden Way. My wife went to her grave thinking that she was not only a physical burden but also a financial burden. My juvenile son was offered survivors benefits but I went to the Hermitage social security office on Garden Way and denied the benefits. I explained that I did not want them, 3 years later, coming after him with another claim of " overpayment". The female clerk told me "WE WOULD NEVER COME AFTER YOUR SON, HE WOULD RECEIVE A WAIVER". Well, a month after this social security conversation, I received 4 harassment letters from the social security office on Garden Way. Letter #1 - Your family is eligible for survivors benefits regarding your wife's passing. Fill a waiver out and apply. LETTER #2 - Your son is no longer eligible for survivors benefits. LETTER #3 - Your son must pay $150 due to an overpayment LETTER #4 - Your son must pay $11,000 dollars due to the overpayment. The level of incompetence and deceit from the Hermitage Social security office on Garden Way is unbelievable. Nothing they say is the truth and they have no consistent actions. My son lost his mother and is now being harassed by the Social security office for a false claim of overpayment. It's almost like, because of their incompetent handling of the money THAT WE PAY INTO SOCIAL SECURITY, they purposely create these false OVERPAYMENT SCAMS to make up the difference. Instead of harassing juvenile kids with false overpayment accusations they should make a movie to help generate money that they mishandled. How about a new DUMB AND DUMBER movie, HARRY AND LLOYD GO WORK FOR THE SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICE ON GARDEN WAY IN HERMITAGE.
