I have had a few interactions both on the road as well as in person with this police force. Growing…read moreup in Port Orange there has never been a moment that I haven't felt safe with them around. Sure, it is quiet here at times with little going on so people who are used to breaking laws elsewhere without problems can run into them here. Depending on who you talk to you'll get a different opinion from people about the police here. If you're talking to a local then they know that since things are low crime here they can pay attention to smaller offenses like going 15 over the speed limit. Most people though, whether visiting or just going around town understand that so there aren't any problems. Every now and then though you'll get your ear screamed off by someone with a bad experience, I've heard many. Anything from a coworker running a stop sign in a neighborhood, to speeding and plowing through cross walks while they are full of people. Those situations should speak for themselves though. Every officer I interacted with has been very understanding while still holding you to the law and that's what matters. For the few people that do only have complaints and ranting and yelling about them...well...I think we know those people just don't like being told they are the ones in the wrong. Thank you for keeping us safe.

'That's the way it is now". For a public library, and institution meant to foster learning and concentration, this response was disappointing. Libraries should uphold their role as sanctuaries of peace and focus, not places where noise is normalized. I hope leadership will reconsider how the environment is managed so that patrons can once again enjoy the quiet, respectful atmosphere that a library is meant to provide.

Right on Dunlawton...the e trance is an easy turn and many parking spaces. Tbey even has an outside drop box. ... not many of those around anymore. Ample parking spaces for both folk regulars or us special needs. Now, if you need to go inside ... yes, you can drop off your items inside ....or get in line to be helped. Getting in line, okay... it may take a few minutes, but hey, we're on top of the ground, so take a breather and pause to organize yourself so that when in a minute or two it will be your turn. When called up, whoever is there will apologize for the wait... wait, you call that a wait... 2 minutes come on... no problems. I have never in all my years , well okay back in the 50s, 60's and 70's folk were gracious... and here again. It's pleasant as all get out. They apologize and say thank you.... stop the press... a happy, gracious, and helpful person working in the service industry.... thank you... So please .... don't walk into the post office with I'm here attitude..wait on me now...I'm late for an important date......plan your day accordingly and help keep this post office one of the very best. How about some light reading on univariate polynomial equations, Hagen-Poisealle flow or kinematic viscosity? Well this is your place. The Jack Hunt Memorial Library is actually part of the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University but is open to the public. You can even get a special library card and take the books out. Just about every geeky book even written is in here. Besides the incredible assortment of geeky books, the library is actually quite lovely. Lots of nice and comfy places to sit and very cool pictures and posters of airplanes as well as a whole bunch of model airplanes from different time periods. They even have a real glider hanging from the ceiling. No doubt what this place is about, the very cool geekiness is literally dripping off the walls. No, you won't find many mushy books or best sellers here but it you ever have a sudden desire to review some fiendishly difficult non linear differential equations, this is your place.
