Over the years they have been very reliable and truly helpful people. Today, so many government offices are very poorly run (an understatement), and staffed by people who don't even consider that their callers are paying their salaries. However, at this office, every person I have ever spoken with (over the past ten years probably 25) has been amazing. Sure, there have been glitches, but nothing compared to other government offices. Not even close. The people working here, the people answering the phones, they are good people, real people, not robots, and also intelligent and kind. Thank you. You have a hard job, but you help so many people, and stand above the failings of the Social Security offices, and the Unemployment offices.

I don't have anything juicy to report as to why I had a court date, but I did need to "make an appearance" I received the information of the Judge, date, time, and room number for my case. Along with this was the web address to log onto. It was really easy to appear. The judge was very nice, my case was second on the schedule so I did not have to hang out on mute listening for my name to be called. I literally spent more time getting ready than I did on the website. Efficient and fast. I hope our post-COVID life find this permanently implemented. I did my court appearance, logged off, and logged on to work. I am still so impressed. Five stars.

This review covers my experience with parking in Downtown San Rafael, which may or may not be…read moreadministered by the Marin County Parking Authority. I had several hours on my hands in Downtown San Rafael and either wanted to park free or prepay for a spot. I first looked at the business park lot around 2nd Street, drove past the "Private Property" signs, but chickened out after parking and watching a family looking for a car that they were sure that they parked here. If I were a resident or a more frequent visitor, I would know what I could get away with or not. And since I was in uncharted territory, I moved on. My answer was the top deck of the municipal structure that offered a very reasonable 75 cents/hour and the ability to buy a ticket to put in the dash. I also saw the little parking vehicle circling around, so I knew that there was Saturday enforcement. Other than that, it's all meters and the knowledge that San Rafael needs to catch up technologically with other cities in the Bay Area. Final Note: There's a small and touching memorial to a person who died on Flight 93 during 9/11 on the way to the parking structure.

Now we seem to have officers who only are interested in ticketing even during the holidays and even though the only cars parked in this residential zone are the long term residents and their guests and then the $45 tickets get sent to Southern California for handling? Then I presented him with an issue that we have had to deal with for 5 consecutive years. I have called every year and hoped that this time a personal appearance might get some results. He repeatedly repeated what the computer said even though I agreed with what the computer said but that there was some problem since the same problem happens every year. Everyone know that computers are not always correct but he was adamant that if the computer said something it had to have happened. I really expected better service from Marin but guess the pizza would get cold.
