For my 100th review, I should be writing about a five star Hotel, restaurant or describing my visit…read moreto Yosemite National Park and here I'm writing and raving about Sonora City Hall. What this tells me is a story about a 57 year old man, sitting at the computer, drinking his morning coffee, Yelping and thinking I better shave and get to work. Sonora City Hall is located on North Washington St, near the "Red Church", there is public parking and over many years I have found all departments associated with city business as positive and offering professional services. As an example the renting of the "Opera Hall" or securing a building permit or attending a city council meeting. The city of Sonora offers excellent services in police & fire and as a Sonora resident, I'm pleased to offer this review that is positive. The street crew are caring and protective of our roads and landscape and parks. All employees have been great public servants. Hats of to the Sonora City Council and Greg Applegate, City Administrator.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THE CITY OF SONORA. I had spent over $13,000 in that city alone for my…read morewedding. We made sure and bought everything local as to support the dwindling economy up there. Instead of hiring a city worker the clean up the hall by himself after our wedding we used over 10 workers that were in our wedding party. We swept, mopped, scrubbed and double checked everything for over 4 hours the day after our wedding. After we were confident that we left the hall in better condition then we got it we got a call the next day saying we ruined the floors with sand. WE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE ANY SAND ANYWHERE NEAR THE WEDDING. The city was so mad that we didn't use their worker to clean (and give them more money) that they blamed regular wear and tear on the hall floor on us and tried to make us buy them a new floor. This was complete B.S. we took care of that hall like it was gold. It's really too bad that they had to do this to us because we thoroughly enjoyed our time, now I highly highly recommend doing business elsewhere.

First: I want to say that every USPS employee with whom I have had contact has been friendly and…read moreprofessional. In the past, USPS delivery in our area (near the High School downtown) was phenomenal - absolutely beyond reproach. I absolutely understand that COVID and staffing issues have hurt our local USPS and made it difficult to maintain the level of service that we are accustomed to. I fear that there may be deeper issues affecting delivery at this time. We are now at a point where about 1 out of 5 packages has to be reordered because there is an issue with delivery. Sometimes the package is marked "delivered" but no package arrives; we have had the package arrive days later (placed on the ground under the mailbox) and we have had the package arrive a month later, without fanfare and without any updates to the tracking information that says it was delivered weeks earlier. In the most recent instance, I filed a complaint; when I spoke to our rep, I was told that nothing could be done as the package wasn't insured and that their GPS showed the package had been scanned at our mailbox. I ordered a replacement (which actually arrived). When the original package was actually delivered, I took it to the post office asking that they please return it to the sender as it was no longer needed. They refused. The delivery issues are costing money and time and it's all extremely frustrating. It is notable that these issues started when Louis DeJoy took over leadership of the USPS and started looking to cut costs. :(

Extremely frustrated with this post office. Multiple times I've received notices claiming my…read moremailbox was "too full" for package delivery when that simply was not true. My mailbox is on my property, accessible, and had plenty of room. Instead of delivering packages, they leave slips saying delivery was attempted and force me to drive out of my way to pick them up myself. It feels dishonest and incredibly inconvenient, especially when you're paying for a delivery service that isn't actually being completed. Customer service is nearly impossible to reach by phone, and there seems to be no accountability. This has happened more than once and has become a pattern. USPS seriously needs to address the reliability and service issues at the Sonora location.
