The place looks very nice from the outside, and you would think for the size of this coffee shop, in such a small town, that the coffee and service would be stellar. My husband and I stopped by several times each time we got a coffee and the breakfast croissant sandwich. The sandwich was dry. We were really hungry so we ate it but it was not the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. It looked like something that someone half hazardly threw together. The coffee was okay, not stellar. It lacked depth and flavor. We returned for second time because we assumed that it may have been a fluke, but it definitely was not. All of that was forgivable in my opinion, but horrible service on top of it was not. There is an older woman with dark hair, and heavy make up that has the worst attitude; I think her name is Nicole? We are very polite, and kind to everyone we meet; we were polite and kind to her but she makes it seem like she hates that you are at the coffee shop. The first time we thought, maybe she's just having a bad day, but the second time it turns out she is just plain rude. Either she hates her job or she hates people, one thing is for sure, you will leave feeling like you offended her by showing up to purchase coffee. I asked her if I may order a breakfast sandwich and her response was "Sure I guess so", this just gives an example of her attitude. We live in a large city and rent a home for the summer in southern Oregon every year. We have traveled all over the world and have never encountered someone that was so rude. We asked some locals about her and they all said the same thing, that she is the reason they don't go to SOCO coffee. It's unfortunate because I think the coffee and food is redeemable, but rudeness and a bad attitude is not. read more

I've come here many times throughout the past few years. The atmosphere is lovely; especially for being in south county. The staff is usually always wonderful. However, I've had a few bad experiences with the staff lately. I actually went in today and ordered a danish, and the gal didn't even ask if I wanted it there. She just threw it in a bag and told me to have a good day. The coffee is good, but a bit pricy. It's a nice place to go and they always play music inside (which is a plus in my book). There is also a drive through. Other than customer service fluctuating from good to bad, and the prices, it's a lovely place. read more

Best bathroom off 1-5 for hundreds of miles!! Nice people and great coffee too. Even a drive thru option but I usually need to use their clean and classy restroom so I walk in. Baked goods and a couple of house made options make this a favorite Oregon pit stop for me. read more

Had to pull it down one star after today's visit. My brother grabbed me a light roast that normally would have been fine but tasted like the styrofoam cup in came in. A little disappointed but I'll be back tomorrow. read more

Great coffee and specialty coffee drinks. Also great breakfast sandwiches. Awesome friendly staff that made me the best cappuccino I have ever had this morning....double shot wet salted caramel cappuccino! The breakfast burrito and croissant breakfast were great too! Awesome find! Driving through on road trip we stopped for lunch and a bathroom break and found this little gem. Great chicken salad and coffees. Extremely clean, food fresh and employees very friendly. Love the fresh flower bouquets on all the tables and the artwork on the walls. Made me want to relocate to this little town. Coffee= passable, not great. On par with Starbucks but not over-roasted and cheaper. All sorts of flavorings and milk options (coconut, soy, almond) available. Under $2 for a drip coffee. House made (I think) pastries (not appealing but at least not from the factory). Extremely friendly staff, fast service, drive thru option, nice bathroom. Bring cash, $11 minimum I believe. read more

By far best espresso this side of the boarder. One of the most efficiently ran coffee stops. A ton of random but excellent coffee and espresso mixed concoctions. For locals you are never forgotten just come in say hello and your regular drink is made just the way you like it no matter how crazy. Starbucks get angry with me on how crazy my drink is. SOCOs doesn't miss a beat. As a recent now local I don't know what I would do without them. read more

We were looking for a coffee stop over on our road trip to Portland and being it Thanksgiving everything was closed. We stumbled on Soco and what a good find. Cute little casual place with nice decor. Cashier was very friendly and helpful. Their firebird roast was good so I grabbed myself a pound of beans. They also have a little drive thru. read more

We bombed by Myrtle Creek on the I-5 in southern Oregon looking for a place to rest a bit. The highway sign said that all there was in town was a Dairy Queen. We were that desperate. Instead, we found the SOCO Coffee Company. What a lucky stop. Coffee houses in Oregon are ubiquitous -- the part of the state that is not running on meth is running on caffeine -- so you have to be pretty special to stand out. SOCO does it. The baristas were charming, helpful, cooperative and eager. It might just have been being in the first rainstorm we has seen in 9 months, but that cappuccino in a soft chair by an open fireplace in a very modern ski-lodge style atmosphere seemed like the best thing that had ever happened to me. Definitely made my day. And we were the only clients. In addition to the full run of coffee drinks, there was an array of pastries that would make any Starbuck's client cry with delight, as well as deli sandwiches of interesting and adventurous types to make this even an acceptable lunch stop. When you see Myrtle Creek on the roadside sign, do get off and enjoy this place. You will not regret it. read more

Back again on our way down! This time we got lattes, a bacon and egg breakfast, a muffin, and cookies for the road. The sandwich was AMAZING. The coffee was also very good. The barista was super friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed talking to her and I regret not asking for her name to give her a shoutout! My mom and I probably will never do this drive again since we're from Hawaii and don't normally go on road trips, which is sad because I really like this coffee shop and would definitely make this my go to stop on the drive. I passed through Myrtle Creek to visit friends on my way up I-5. My drive-thru latte was the best I've ever had. Granted I'm from LA where our lattes are sub par and over priced, but the nutty, rich flavor was a shock to my senses. The next time I passed through I also tested the breakfast sandwiches, which can be called in if you just want to use the drive-thru. The warm, flaky croissants and egg taste fairly fresh, unlike the sometimes rubbery, soggy sandwiches that I've gotten elsewhere. The interior offer a very cozy atmosphere, with murals along the walls, you can see that they put a lot of effort into the ambiance of the establishment. It's welcoming enough for a repeat visit, even if you just need a rest of the long trek through Oregon. read more

Great spot to stop in right off the 5! Very refreshing to have a cozy cafe instead of McDonalds. You need to spend an $11 minimum if using a card FYI. They have an assortment of non dairy options and really good oatmeal - I'd recommend getting hot milk in the oatmeal instead of water. Coffee is pretty good - the best option along this long stretch of highway! read more

Perfect lunch stop off the 5. Why eat gross chain food when you can get a healthy and delicious sandwich here served by friendly people?

My husband and I were on a road trip through Oregon and we needed to get sandwiches for the road. We had gotten off thinking there would be a Subway at this exit and found this cute coffee and sandwich shop instead. The employee was very friendly and the free brownie samples were delicious! The sandwiches on their menu and specials are very creative and everything is very fresh. They put a great twist on something simple. I'd go again if we lived closer! read more

We stopped for a coffee based on the reviews. The shop was neat and clean and the dad with us said "even the bathrooms are cute". The service was amazing and we appreciated the hospitality and attentiveness of the staff. We ordered two lattes, a drip coffee and an old fashioned glazed donut. The donut was close to frozen, and the coffee was disappointing. The array of syrup for coffee was astounding however. If you're looking for a clean place to stop and rest or friendly staff to accommodate road weary travelers this is a great one. If you like the idea of coffee but prefer to flavor it up this is a good choice. If you're on a coffee scavenger hunt for a great cup...this is not it. read more

I needed a pit stop badly. We were trucking down I-5 in a Penske 15ft van with a load of household items. In Eugene, we had made a Starbuck's stop and needed relief. In over 50 traverse of Oregon on I 5, there was never a reason to stop in Myrtle Creek. Now there is, the SOCO Coffee Company. More than a lucky stop with parking, more like divine intervention. The van slept on the street and we dashed inside. A total experience, a new building, the brew pub next door (we didn't). Michelle behind the counter did an attitude adjustment on me with Mocha, a Panini and a scone. It's the scone, blueberry, that stayed with me long after getting back on the road. In fact it is this lump on my left side. The Panini was good, right up there with The Two Brothers (I due Fratellini) in Florence. There was also a buzz going, three ladies discussing men, a staff meeting, two couples plotting their vacation and some droll talk of golf at another table. When you see the Myrtle Creek roadside sign, it's not just the turn on I 5. Get off, find Soco's, drink coffee, and let the time table slip. read more
