There is no music in the restaurant, but the decor is quaint and reminiscent of an old country tavern. We tried the hallingstuenes nevamat as a starter, and I had grilled mountain trout as a main. The hallingstuenes nevamat was excellent, and each of the four miniature dishes were artfully presented. The trout was a bit overcooked, but the sauce was perfect and the accompaniments were delicious. Overall, I would highly recommend Hallingstuene for a Norwegian dinner in Geilo if you don't mind a bit of a wait.

It took us the good part of a femto-second to decide to create our own, so there you have it - - how could I rate at less than five stars my own product (bar the actual labor)?
