But here I was in Spain so maybe flyers were interesting. And it was ! After wandering through the beautiful city, we found the place. hidden in the patio of an old building. Away from the sun, we felt some fresh air and walk in the craft market. I just love so much how it feels to walk from table to table and admire craft ! It feels so personal. Someone made something and you are about to acquire a unique piece of Art ! We sat for a while, drank a coke. Loved it I highly recommend the place and the market :)

So we came back for a few beers. And cheap mind you. You won't break the bank here. Doesn't feel very touristy, felt more like a place where locals hang. And had a arty farty vibe. I saw a bloke sitting at a table on his own reading a book and drinking a beer. I love feel of this place. It's set back off the road into a giant garden patio. I think they hold lots of events here. I saw a list of events, but didn't really pay much attention. I think I may wind up a regular here!

(From the Moscatos and Pedro Ximenez Grapes). You can also get a Semi-Sweet or Dry. We had a mix of orders. I went for the Semi-Sweet and it was quite sweet. 20% ABV so made for sipping. Vermouth is also available. For Tapas, we had Tuna Tartare and Cheese Skewers which were delicious. The Spiced Pepper started out mild and had a spicy finish. Service was quick and friendly. A must stop Bodega (oldest in Malaga) for the House-made Wine and local Bar/flavor experience. Salud!

However, this Foundation Birthplace Museum has a nice historical link in being based in the actual square where the artist was born. If you're really interested, he was born in what is now number 15 Plaza de la Merced This museum concentrates more on the personal life and history of Picasso with the permanent exhibitions displaying the personal effects of the young Picasso - toys, photos, even a self portrait by the young painter. It's also interesting to find out things about his family and there are works by Jose ruiz Blasco, Picasso's father There are also temporary exhibitiions covering works by Picasso but also other exponents of modern art Overall, a much more intimate space and feel to this museum with interesting insights into the life of Picasso. Additionally, there was an orchestra playing in the courtyard, but you needed a ticket for a seat in the audience. At the time I arrived, there were no more tickets for seats. Included in the collection are findings from the Cave of Nerja which shows how Homo sapians-sapians lived during the last Ice Age, grave goods, and Phoenician tomb findings. At the time the Phoenicians settled in Málaga mining for silver, the people were under Assyrian rule, whose currency was based on silver. Exhibits are well curated and have both English and Spanish explanations.

The server asks if I want potatoes or vegetables with the lamb. I say veggies, because I'm an adult who occasionally makes good choices. First course shows up -- soup's fine, nobody dies. Then they bring out the ceviche, slap it down between us like we're supposed to fight for it. We explain, no, genius, that's her meal. He apologizes, like a man who just realized he forgot to put the main course on the grill -- because, spoiler alert, he forgot to put the main course on the grill. Thirty minutes later (because why rush?), the lamb chops finally appear. Well, technically they appear -- what actually lands on my plate are three sad grey meat Frisbees. No pink. No juice. Just pure, well-done sadness you could resole boots with. And because it's amateur hour, he brings potatoes. Not veggies. Potatoes. I tell him -- again -- that I ordered veggies. He scurries off and brings some broccoli or whatever, which I gnaw on like a prisoner desperate to get paroled. So, to recap: after a long meal and spectacularly bad service, I leave having consumed soup and vegetables. No lamb. They didn't charge me for the inedible lamb chops -- thanks, heroes -- but they did charge me for the French fries I didn't order and sure as hell didn't eat. Five-star experience all around. Can't wait to never go back.
