Awful. not the place to go for cancer screen. Dr Carlin barely checks you and misdiagnosed my basil cell carcinoma that I pointed out to her! Also, SHE was late for 2 appointments in a row ... waited nearly an hour each time. they put you in a room and tell you nothing. so unprofessional... the second time I had to leave since I am taking leave from work to wait in their office... they said that I "missed" the appointment. I informed Samantha SHE is the one who missed the appointment. Go somewhere else!!! I certainly did and am now getting treatment for my skin cancer that went way too long. read more

Dr. Karlin is the most thorough doctor I have seen. Something I really appreciate is that she considers all factors when prescribing medications, always weighing the pros and cons with me (especially when talking about Botox/other toxins)! I cannot say enough good things about this office and the care I received from Dr. Samantha Karlin. I was able to be seen the same day I called to make an appointment. I walked in the office at 4:10 for my appointment which was 4:15 and filled out the paper work. I was called to the back, explained to Dr. Karlin what was going on and she thoroughly explained to me what she was going to do. She was the sweetest doctor! I was terrified walking into the office, but she assured me that it was going to be okay. Also, walking out of the office I was offered to try many different sunscreens and take some home with me as well. It was my first time going to the dermatologist, and I couldn't recommend her enough! I definitely give her a 10/10! read more

I'm a dermatologist, and Dr. Hunt at Soine Dermatology is MY dermatologist! She is excellent. She found a severely dysplastic mole before it turned into melanoma and excised it for me. She's also done my lip filler with great results. She is incredibly personable and sweet, while also being so knowledgeable and professional. She truly cares about her patients and goes above and beyond. I highly recommend her! read more

Dr. Karlin is the best dermatologist I have ever had! My insurance didn't want to pay for my Dupixent injection and she was able to get me a free waiver for a whole entire year that is mailed to my house every month! She really goes above and beyond for her patients! read more

Horrible experience. I have been to many dermatologists in my lifetime, in several different states, and I have never been to one so irritating and uncaring. The first thing that was upsetting to me was when Dr. Samantha Karlin stuck a camera in my exposed areas to take photos. I was shocked and appalled! Who does this without asking first?! IMO, the camera should be kept away until the doctor has permission, then brought in sensitively. I was diagnosed with skin cancer at my bikini line and she told me she could cut it out, but I'd be left with a large "football shape" scar. When I asked about MOHS, she said she didn't do that. So... I asked if she could refer me to someone who did... I waited TWO MONTHS... kept calling and calling. No response. I also called and asked that the photos they took be removed from my file... Lord only knows if they ever were. Will NEVER return to this place.‍ read more

I am extremely disappointed in this clinic and now see that they prioritize money over a client's wellbeing. They have removed my skin cancer on two occasions over the last several.years when I had BCBS. I'm currently concerned about an abnormal spot on my skin and wanted to continue with the clinic that knows my history. HOWEVER, now that my insurance provider is with Mediciad they will not continue to see me. The hammond location does accept Medicaid but Dr. Soine refused to schedule me since my insurance has changed. This is so disheartening and completely obvious that it's a money situation. Shame on you for discontinuing my service bc my family has fallen on hard times and can't afford our previous insurance provider!! read more

While this dermatologist might have raving reviews from patients for cosmetic surgeries and aesthetics, he isn't a good diagnostic doctor and I would look elsewhere if you are interested in getting a proper diagnosis and a doctor that cares for your longterm outcome. I scheduled an appointment after looking at many doctors online, hearing and seeing he was highly recommended and dealt with hair as well as skin. I was a young female losing my hair suddenly. I have no family history of balding or hair loss in my family on either side. I do have thyroid, hormone, iron, and autoimmune problems, but was never asked about these. Dr. Soine came in, looked quickly over my head and said, "You've got hair loss, baldness." And then a wrote prescription for a shampoo I didn't get any information on, and wanted to shove me out the door. There were no questions about past health, current health, medications. When I passed questions, he looked at my scalp again and said, "You've got female pattern baldness." I tried asking questions and asking if there could be anything else causing sudden hair loss, but he wanted to rush out the room, probably more interested in making money from a person wanting fillers or botox than to properly diagnose a patient. I went home crying, not feeling like the visit to the doctor told me anything more I could do. I did not fill the prescription or start using it because I had a gut feeling I was not going bald and had visited a doctor who wasn't interested in my situation. So, I got a second opinion, and my hair loss was found to be for hospitalization due to a serious illness I'd experienced months before. It was determined by a doctor actually sitting down and having a conversation with me, asking me questions, looking to see I didn't have female pattern balding but wide spread shedding, and being interested in determining what was causing the shedding. I'm so disappointed in the experience with Dr. Soine. His bedside manners were awful, his care and concern was absent. I wanted to believe that he was a doctor that cared for patients as I had read, but I believe he prefers to do cosmetics and aesthetics over helping patients with actual health conditions. If that is the case, he could simply take dermatology out of his practice and just do aesthetics, there are more than enough patients looking to "age gracefully" to fill his pockets with money. His MD means "Money Doctor" not "Medicinae Doctor." read more

If you are looking for competency in diagnostics; need analysis of problems to solve them; want explanations, look elsewhere because no such expertise is exhibited at Soine Dermatology - by anyone. Have been to Dr. Soine several times for both cosmetic and medical skin conditions/concerns. Being a physician myself, I have always appreciated his thoroughness and bedside manner.
