My dog is 16, has never been boarded and does not go to dog parks. To put him through another shot he does not need and me through the expense for a five minute nail trim seems ridiculous! Francesca was our trainer for our Cane Corso puppy when we got her. There was so much we had to learn when she was just a puppy and I can't be any happier with our decision to come here. Other trainers don't like to give tips or any information until after payment has been made. Francesca was constantly giving us new information during sessions and of course afterwards, any questions we had, or even suggestions for us to try something new/ different. They all had fantastic customer service, from Caitlyn as a groomer, to Francesca our trainer and Shelly who was always at the front desk. They all learned Nala and after all the work they taught me and made me feel confident to start doing more advanced training on my own. Nala now comes everywhere with us from grocery shopping to pumpkin patches to going out on Halloween night. She is always the best behaved dog when out and around other people and dogs. Olive and I love this place. Everyone is so nice. Shelley and Valerie, Kim and Jason and Kaitlyn, Olive's groomer. Olive is always excited to get out of the car and runs right up to the door. She knows she will come out looking her best and feeling good. I originally thought the price was a little high but over the time I have had this pup, I have looked around and even Pet Smart is pretty much the same price once you add in the things that are automatic with Sol Dog. I really cannot say enough great things about Sol Dog. They offer a variety of services, and even board/train special case dogs from PACC. I discovered them back in the summer when I needed some help with one of my dogs who was reactive to other dogs. I took Mabel there for 4-days of day training, and Terra was just wonderful with her. Not only did Mabel learn and grow in just 4-days, Terra gave me very useful tips to bring home that have helped me to continue to work on Mabel's reactivity. Mabel is now able to easily interact with other dogs and attends their day camp several times a month in order to ensure she has opportunities to socialize. She always comes home exhausted from her play day, and she's getting better and better with her interaction skills!! Nicole and Anisa always find time to talk with me each time I pick up Mabel in order to let me know how she did that day. They are both wonderful with her. There is also a groomer on their site ....Becky's Pet Parlor...and I have to say that Becky is a freakin' dog whisperer. In addition to Mabel, I also have a senior Chiweenie/Jack Russell 11lb 'handful'. Bernie will NOT let anyone touch his tiny toes except for me....and it has taken me many months of just slowly and gently massaging/touching his feet for him to even tolerate me. He is a rescue so I'm not sure what is history is, but man ....stay away from the dude's feet because he goes into full on melt-down mode when it's time for a nail trim. Except ...not with Becky....he is a little gentleman for her. She began very slowly at first with another person helping hold him, and he allowed her to use a dremel for a short period of time the first day. She's done his nails several times now, and he just loves her. You will not go wrong by choosing Sol Dog ....I highly recommend them. read more

My experience with Rachel M. at Sol has been great. She has a calm and sure presence and patiently explains what our next hw is or asks what direction we want to go in next. I have been taking my PACC foster who had a training package paid for, once that expired i continued to pay for more time. She has guided me into helping him transform into a different dog. He has ALWAYS been happy but his fear and even excited behavior made him inadoptable and had landed him on the deadline list. Without Rachel we would probably be a ways back in his training now- here is the review that counts. Lute is a much more calm and relaxed dog but the minute he sees us en route to "school" he gets excited. By the time we turn into the long driveway he is whining excitedly and when he hops out of the car he runs to the door and SITS while wagging his tail like crazy. Excellent experience at Sol Dog Lodge Grooming! Our little girl is quite shy but she came out looking great, tail wagging and a smile on her face. The groomer, Faydra Cronin, is very professional, compassionate and certainly appears to connect with her clients. She made Luna feel at ease... consequently mama was at ease. My dog is a big, energetic nut bag that we love to death. We board her at Sol Dog because they know she's a nut and accept her and take great care of her. They know how to handle the easy going dogs as well as the ones that need a bit more attention or effort. My dog is happy when we bring her to Sol dog and happy when we pick her up. Cannot say enough good things about Rachel at Sol Dog. We rescued a pug mix, Ziggy, who was terrified of pretty much everything. We set him up for a "day train" where she works with him during the day and we pick him up at night. It was less expensive than everything else we were looking at and less intimidating, while being more intensive. A few weeks later, I had her watch/play with both of my pups while I was at school all day and my boyfriend was out of town. She helped Ziggy make a 180; he is now the fantastic pup he was meant to be. Their prices are incredibly reasonable and she is so genuinely dedicated to helping dogs get better - not necessarily helping them learn how to become, specifically, a Labrador retriever (I ran into that interviewing dog trainers in town). I truly cannot day enough great things about her and recommend her/this place for everybody. We took our dog in to see Rachel after having her for 4 months and experiencing a few major issues with her; running off and attacking her senior sister. Aja stayed with Rachel for 3 weeks, and during that time we saw major changes for the better, we could open gates and doors and she would stay put and she started getting along with her sister. Rachel not only helped Aja with her behavior, but has also trained us on how to keep things going for the positive with Aja. It has been 9 months since Aja finished her training and during that time we have had continued support from Rachel. Anytime we have had a question or concern she has been happy to help. Just recently we had a incident with Aja and without hesitation we were told to bring her in. We currently are clients of Sol Dog and will continue to be as long as we have dogs. read more

I recently boarded my dogs at Sol lodge due to their good ratings and rewards listed on their website. They also were a smaller boarding facility so I thought it would be better for my dogs since they might receive more attention. I completely regret bringing them there. When I booked my dogs to be boarded I was never told that if I text them to see how my dogs were doing that it would take 4 hours or more to get a response. It was my first time boarding there and it was two days since staying there. I wanted to see how they were doing because it's a new place. I texted them at the number I was provided and didn't hear anything for 3-4 hours. I called Shelly to find out why I'm not receiving a response and her response back to me was that they were busy training dogs and that they take a few hours to get back. That's fine, but you should let the customer know that first of all when booking that their won't be a quick turnaround in response. Second of all, it only take 2 min to respond to someone to let them know that their dogs are ok. I didn't like the fact that if I wanted to check on my dogs that I can't and that when I call no one answers. My husband tried to call Shelly to tell her of our concerns and she never called us back. The other thing is that you have to set up a "pick up time". Well my flight was delayed tried to text them to let them know. Again no answer for 3 hours so I just went there to pick them up. I highly do not recommend boating your dogs at Sol lodge. Maybe their dog training is better since they said that's all they do but don't board your dogs there. read more

Rachel and her team are GREAT!!!! We sent our dogs threw her board and train program to help with pack aggression and couldn't be more pleased with the results. Our dogs although still working everyday are different because of her training and care. We have since had them boarded there to take trips out of town, knowing they are going to get activity and be cared for. The new greyhounds go in "rough" and straight off the track. Sol.DOG provides excellent training, socialization, and general care. Rachel rescued a schipperke bound for euthanasia. She worked with her until we were able to pick her up and have her spayed. Rachel worked a miracle for me and my 2 male dogs who now are no longer fighting. My dogs had lived peacefully for 9 months together then started to have extremely violent fights over 4 months until in desperation to hold our "family" together I took them to Soldogs on a recommendation. Through a combination of approaches from initial 3 day boarding/ observation, a private training for me and my dogs together, and day camp for dogs working with her pack , Rachel discerned the issues behind the scenes for each dog and taught me how to work with them at home. She understands dogs so well and taught me a great deal . For example one dog was still holding on to a "grudge" , was more insecure so would be in fear, etc. Rachel is very smart and will pour her information and insights out so bring a pad of paper and a pen! On top of everything they charge very reasonable rates and give discounts for multiple dogs. I highly recommend them! read more

I've boarded my Stanley here a few times and I've always had a great experience with the team at sol.Dog. Stanley is always excited to stay go and he LOVES the team there. I first met Rachel after starting to volunteer with and foster for Bridge Rescue for Dogs. Blue, my at-risk-for-euthanasia foster turned adoptee, started out without much impulse control, instigating 3 major fights with my resident dogs. I took Blue to one of Rachel's 5-week obedience classes at sol.DOG and immediately felt a connection with her philosophy and training style. After much hard work and dedication (and practicing my newly taught skills), Blue is now the dog in my pack that I probably trust the most with new introductions. And I completely trust Rachel and admire her devotion to help dogs whom most others would turn away. She has helped countless dogs be saved from euthanasia from PACC, the local shelter, and I don't know if the Tucson community realizes the impact she has had on dog rescue and dog rehabilitation. I have referred several people to her whether it be for socialization (try taking a reactive dog to a commercial facility!), boarding, or one-on-one personal training.
