First time going to a physical therapist due to a car accident incident. My insurance company told me to come here and I had my first therapy session with Kevin T. He was so down to earth, professional, and amazing at what he does. I couldn't even turn my neck to the right or left and my muscles were "locked". I honestly was so tense from shoulders, back, and neck that I needed help. After one session, I felt like I can turn my neck much more better and my muscles weren't as locked as it was. I was really shocked and happy that I have a little bit of mobility now. I have a lot more sessions to go to feel 100% myself again and looking forward to going. The care I received was genuinely good, and the physical therapy itself was effective. However, my overall experience was significantly let down by serious administrative issues. The front desk staff was repeatedly unresponsive when I tried to reach them by phone, and on a critical occasion, a staff member was absent entirely. As a direct result, I was unable to update my insurance information in time, and I ended up being charged $500 out of pocket for a single appointment that should have been covered. For a healthcare provider, that level of administrative failure is unacceptable. Good clinical care means little when patients are blindsided by avoidable charges due to staff negligence. read more

My pt specialist, Kevin Takao was very focused and compassionate about my chronic back pain that did not resolve since 2011 after my intense Muay Thai training. I have tried acupuncture, massage, and Kaiser PT just gave me a booklet of exercise i should do at home, but nothing was done for me during the visit. The staff at Spine and Sports Physical Therapy are wonderful! Ive worked with and will continue to work with Danielle and Janelle to improve my lifestyle, as well as getting threw a difficult recent motorcycle accident. I haven't worked with Steve, but i have talked with him, and I know he is just as professional, as Danielle and Janelle. I'm sort of bad with names, but I do want to give thanks to their assistants also. They are very nice, and very encouraging. The help that Ive received at Spine and Sports Physical Therapy has helped me not only to recover quicker and safer with their good advice, but has helped me change my bad habits when i comes to lifting heavy objects and my day to day work related activities that are very demanding physically! I also noticed on my last visit, this afternoon, Danielle went out of her way to spend extra time, going over with me, some really important notes on how to improve lifting and my posture while doing some of my unique tasks involved with my job duties. I have been coming her due to a chronic back pain issue that I got a few months back (trying to save money by lifting shingles to our roof, dumb me). The urgent care physician that saw me said that some PT will help and that I didn't need surgery. He recommended Spine and Sports Physical Therapy in Concord as he heard a lot of positive feedback. Fast forward now and about 5 visits already and my back has healed very quickly. My PT, Amadine, has been amazing. She knows exactly where I have a new 'knot' that I've told her I felt days prior. The rest of the staff has also been amazing. Kylie takes the time to show me the techniques and let's me know if I need further improvement. I have taken these exercises and have done them at home and at the gym. All staff are professional, and knowledgable and work together for each patient. Much attention is spent on cleanliness and safety. All must wear masks, and wash their hands. Temperatures are taken and it was spotless. I was incredibly lucky to work with Physical Therapist, Hanah Kropf. She is the best person that I could imagine for my therapy after a full knee replacement. She is not only a Physical Therapist but an Athletic Trainer. Her father is a Physical Therapist and she grew up watching him enjoy his work. She studied at University of Michigan and did her internship at University of Utah. She is extremely smart and very well respected by her peers. Many of her peers mentioned that she is admired by all. I was fortunate to have Hanah Kropf as the best Physical Therapist, who helped me to recover from a full knee replacement. I feel 100% ready to go back to my job. She concentrated on how to walk correctly, balance, bending, stretching, endurance and I feel like she did the best job possible. After my exercise session, I left feeling like I got the most out of my time spent there. She used tools like the Graston to massage and relax my hamstrings, and The Game Ready Ice Machine which was awesome and the icing on the cake after workouts. Few Physical Therapy places have this machine. It is used by large sports teams and athletes and is an expensive machine. Hanah will meet with you for a visit to discuss your therapy needed. You will be so happy with her. Pain or surgeries are not easy. You will need a physical therapist to get you back to the best physical health. Thank you Hanah! For several months I had been nursing a shoulder issue on my dominant arm - felt like a potential rotator cuff issue. I finally broke down and got a 5-week auth for PT from my health plan. My first impression of Stephanie and her team was that of a lively and positive environment where people go to reduce pain, and/or improve their mobility. I have been to physical therapists before for my back years ago, but the difference I noticed with Stephanie and her team was that I felt more motivated during my therapy. The team felt more like my "coaches" and "cheerleaders" - which helped me to push through some of the activities. I think this is because of the specializing in sports PT. I really benefited from getting more information of the actual structures involved in my shoulder injury and how they work together. All my questions were answered clearly and thoroughly. I also appreciated the printouts of the exercises for me to do at home in between sessions. My shoulder pain level is reduced, and I have improved my mobility and stability. Had an initial evaluation with Kim R. very confusing, lot's of interruptions since she was treating 2 other patients at the same time, I asked for instructions on exercisers and had to sit and wait for a long time, no access to restroom to change into loose fitting shirt which would of made the session better, hallway bathroom was locked. The session was very short and rushed. No ice or stem theraphy after the session, left with more pain than when I came in with. read more

Steve, was extremely proficient, and helped me with a speedy recovery so that I didn't miss any time on the field, using a combination of exercises and treatment. Look, I'm a Physical Girl. I competed with guys when no women would. I'd win. I've had multiple surgeries (17). I have been to numerous PT. Clinics. Spine & Sports was the FIRST all hands on therapy that made sense & listened to me. Not a point at a piece of equipment & say do that. They KNEW how my, shoulder (rotator cuff repair) was cuz they worked it with their hands! They actually touched me! They knew how my total knee replacement was responding cuz they worked it. They created a working home plan (I travel 5 days a week) that I could actually benefit from. Hello to my fellow injured people, I have a few thoughts that I hope might be helpful. I was very impressed by the friendly and professional website. The name of the business also drew my attention because I have an injury to my spine. I know it can be hard to reach out when you are looking for treatment, but the website inspired my confidence. Imagine my surprise when the personal first impression I experienced was the polar opposite!! The woman who answered the phone was rude and thoughtless! She said "well we don't like, specialize in spinal injuries it's just like, the name of the business..." there was no gum snapping, but I could definitely hear eye rolling. I asked If they would take my claim number for my work injury and she said..."well you will have to call your claims adjuster and ask for authorization then they will have to send all of your medical records to us" all of this before I can even make an appointment??. I decided to spare myself another minute on the phone with this wonderful welcome wagon of a lady and took my business elsewhere. Healing is a real journey, I suggest you choose a place that has some compassion. Perhaps a clinic where people actually care..? read more

I was referred to this establishment due to an injury. Staff at the front desk are polite, cheerful and welcoming. Even calling me by name on my subsequent visits. The therapists are knowledgeable and hands-on. Lots of resources at their disposal and even though the facility looks minimal, they have ways of using the equipment, as you would least expect, to get the results you want. As with any injury, you need to follow their rehab plan if you want to get better. YES, lots of times this means doing exercises or stretches on your own time. I recommend this clinic. I have felt at ease and truly believe that your overall health is concerning to and addressed by the staff here. They make rehab enjoyable because of their personalities and the atmosphere. I've seen improved results and am almost sorry to see my visits come to an end. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Spine and Sports Physical Therapy in Concord and I can highly recommend this place! I went to see Stephanie after I tore my meniscus playing soccer this summer. I was very hesitant and anxious at first but Stephanie and the entire team were very caring and understanding and addressed the problem in a very professional way. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating, it was easy to call and schedule my appointments even though my time is very limited. I really felt like I did not only receive high quality care, but I was actually treated like an individual. After 2 months of intensive therapy I am now back to playing soccer! Kevin has helped tremendously in relieving my back and shoulder pain from my time taking care of parents in hospice. His open communication and use of a variety of techniques has enabled the muscles in this area to return to normal health and stopped the pinching sensations I was feeling in my shoulder. Today was my first physical appointment, I had Mike as my therapist and he was phenomenal. Really worked my feet and massaged the plantar fasciitis to help break down the tension. Mike went above and beyond by checking my pelvic floor alignment to make sure my feet and knees weren't suffering more from uneveness. Sure enough it was off and he actually realigned my pelvic floor. He even gave me the option of heat or ice before I left and the heat helped a lot! Highly recommend Mike, he's great! read more

I was sent there after an injury at work for my right arm (also my dominant - super frustrating) and originally had Stephanie as my physical therapist and she was fantastic. Super gentle, but very very thorough. She's also a blast to talk to: a very good conversationalist. I kept forgetting my appointments and then wound up going to Sean for most of my visits, and he too was very throrough and really nice. Doctors made my arm seems like it was in a much worse state but those two fixed it up like it was nothing. I only have two visits a week for three weeks approved by insurance, so they both taught me how to help fix it on my own. Thanks for everything, guys! This was my second time with Spine and Sports Physical Therapy. This time my PT was more intense and longer in duration. They have great hours and are very flexible if you need to change your appointments. The staff is very knowledgeable and caring. I gave it three stars as I thought sometimes my therapist was a little distracted. At times they were overbooked and running to keep up with everyone.
