Our pediatrician and a therapist at Children's Hospital recommended we find counseling for my 5 year old grandchild. I knew somebody who went to Counseling West and he raved about their services and how much it helped him, he gave me the contact info, so I gave it to my daughter. What kind of an asshole tells a mother who is desperately trying to get her son help for a very real issue that "We don't deal with people and their custody drama?" I will tell you... a cold hearted human who did not listen. She did not hear that we have a 5 year old having panic attacks because he is so frightened. Does it matter that's it's coming from his father? I think not, what matters is he needs help to sort through this. This has nothing to do with a custody battle. It is no wonder we, as a society, are in the state we are in. People who need help, who seek help are not getting it. There are not enough mental health doctors to go around and in our case nobody has time for us. And then you have mental health "professionals" like this shithole, who over the telephone make a judgment about someone they have never met, about a child who desperately needs someone to confide in, and they turn their heads the other way in disgust. Shame on you for not listening. Shame on you for not recognizing that a 5 year old having panic attacks is a serious issue. And shame on you for being such a cold hearted asshole.

I say this because it is EXTREMELY hard to find a decent therapist/life coach/social worker (you name it), let alone an incredible one since they're almost mythical or non-existent like unicorns. After meeting with constant terrible therapists who clearly did not care for my well-being (more so for his or her paycheck), I somehow was blessed with landing a session with Tamika. After my first session I felt so surprised. I had finally found the unicorn that I was searching for my whole life! I am currently enrolled in a Marriage and Family therapy program, so I wanted someone to truly help me find my path and purpose as well as heal me so that I can be an effective therapist myself.
