5 star service from beginning to end. I'm a 61 year old perpetual nervous dental patient. Their soothing phone voices, kind front desk staff and medical staff and Doctor were exceptionally kind and helpful throughout my visit to have a tooth extracted. They answered all my questions and were very reassuring about everything. I was able to have a 15 minute sedation for the procedure which for me was THE WAY TO GO and my insurance even covered it so I don't feel bad getting sedated. Great service, staff, and experience! My first appt (consultation) didn't go as planned. I started a new job and my insurance was causing an issue. I was covered, but it wasn't coming up in the system. My insurance company was extremely unhelpful that day, but the woman in the front saw my distress (i had wisdom teeth pain and the thought of another delay was stressful) and helped me to be seen that day and have a proper consultation. THANK YOU Later I met Dr. Romero. He is awesome! Funny and kind. Gets to know you quickly and I felt like I was talking to a long time friend. I then had the surgery, went wonderful. Then had a question and he saw me for a follow up. He put my mind at ease! Every staff member was great, wow. Fully recommend Solace to anyone! (Prior to this, I had consultations with two other oral surgery offices, each time asked then to verify that my insurance covered them AND that they were in-network. BOTH told me yes, and I confirmed many times (navigating the insurance world is quite the task and I don't want surprise charges). I was then billed heavily for the consultation. Called my insurance turns out they were NOT in network and lied directly to me) - it is tough out there, I don't know if anyone, fully understands insurance items. Dr Romero is a life saver! My daughter is at Vanderbilt and had her wisdom teeth removed 3 weeks before semester started back home in So FLA. One day she swelled right up again and her Oral Surgeon at home was concerned about an abscess. Dr Romero's office staff worked her in the same day between classes and he drained her abscess painlessly in the office, and started her on antibiotics. The office staff took our insurance information remotely from me and were completely accommodating Next day my daughter's face was almost back to normal! Dr. Romero, his assistant Kim, and the entire staff at Solace Oral Surgery are incredible! My husband has a type of Lupus that wreaks havoc on teeth and causes major dental complications. To make matters worse, he is terrified of dental work, especially after the shape his mouth was in, so he kept putting dental care off. Our dentist, Dr. Hernandez, recommended Dr. Romero for the severe dental issues he had because we knew he needed extensive oral surgery. After a couple of appointments for consults, images, X-rays and impressions, surgery was set for today. In four hours ( 9 am - 1:00 pm), Dr. Romero pulled all the broken & infected top teeth, scraped all the infection, sutured where the teeth had been, put 4 implants in, fitted the enamel ( temporary) teeth, and screwed them in. Once the bone has healed around the implants, ( approximately 3 months), the permanent teeth will be put in. My husband is 62, has had one emergency surgery in his life and was extremely nervous about this appointment. He left there smiling a beautiful smile, he's in very little pain and can't wait to get the bottom teeth done! I can't possibly describe how happy, relieved and excited we are! Dr. Romero is an incredible surgeon, a very kind man and possibly a magician! The transformation he made in my husbands life today is unbelievable. Dr. Romero works with Joe Coursey of Russellville Dental Laboratory ( construct the teeth) who is also incredible. Joe stays during surgery and with Dr Romero, they make sure the fit is exact, the teeth are very natural, comfortable and perfect. I couldn't believe the teeth implanted today are temporary! They are exactly what his permanent teeth will look like. Kim, his assistant and nurse is also great! She explained everything in advance and as she was doing Each step. She called yesterday ( the day before surgery) to see if we had any questions for her or the doctor. She's in surgery with the doctor and takes great care of the patient. The office staff is friendly, professional and very kind. I can't say enough great things about this business. They excel in every way. Yesterday I went in for a broken tooth and wisdom tooth extraction. Needles to say I was super nervous about the entire procedure. The office is very soothing and the staff is amazing! Dr Romero was phenomenal. He took the time to listen to all of my concerns and addressed them all. After talking to him I was no longer nervous or scared. I rarely take the time to write a review but Dr. Romero is worth it. The work he does is fantastic and in all honesty I have never experienced this level of top notch service from an oral surgeon. My experiences are based on oral surgeons I had as a child that were awful. I base my love for Dr. Romero on the work he's done for my son. My son loves him... Who loves and oral surgeon?!?! My son! ha ha... and therefore, I do too. I almost want to need oral surgery so I can experience how great he is myself.... I've left reviews elsewhere for Dr. Romero in the past, but I always find myself wanting to reach a different audience to tell them about how great he is. I've seen Dr. Romero over the years for many things -- extractions, implants, bone grafting, "Help, I know you close in 10 minutes and it's Saturday and I live 30 minutes away but my jaw is dislocated and I don't know what to do", and most recently to take care of and figure out the cause of an infection under a crown. My brothers have seen Dr. Romero for wisdom teeth extractions, too. Dr. Romero has always been conscientious of cost, and he's always made decisions that I trust will save me money and keep my mouth in the best shape. I have four missing teeth, and, because my mouth is so small, Dr. Romero suggested only 2 larger-than-usual implants (the missing teeth are paired, 2 together up top and 2 molars together on the bottom). Every time I've seen a dentist, they've made constant comments about how small my mouth is. It's really almost all people can talk about while they work on my teeth, and it gets old fast. Yes, I'm aware, my mouth is small and it's hard for you to do what you're doing. No, I can't open further, I'll dislocate my jaw. Dr. Romero, however, has only ever made the comment when it's actually relevant, like to tell me that something will be a tight fit or may be uncomfortable for me. During an appointment with him this past week, he even told me to not worry about opening too wide at one point, because he said he didn't need too much room for what he was doing and wanted me to relax. Another notable thing about Dr. Romero is his tone of voice. He's never loud, and he speaks gently and calmly at all times. You can tell he's incredibly focused on the task at hand. I've seen dentists and other health professionals that are rude to their staff, but I've never witnessed that at Solace, and doubt I ever will. Dr. Romero's staff is as kind and humorous as he is, and you can tell they enjoy being where they are. I even sat next to a woman at the nail salon a few days ago who worked at an orthodontist's office and said that Dr. Romero had spoken to her class while she was in school about what he did, and how she knew that people loved him and that he seemed to be doing it all for the right reasons. Additionally, the topic of Dr. Romero's wife Eva came up -- when I had asked for new gauze while waiting in recovery after a surgery, I did not expect someone as kind and beautiful as Eva to be the one to come in and change it for me. I had a wonderful experience today at Solace Oral Surgery. I am a local dentist and needed to have my wisdom teeth extracted. I have always heard great things about Dr. Romero and today was no exception. They got me in immediately and after being numbed up, I didn't feel ANYTHING. I almost drifted off to sleep. Let me start by saying that Dr. Romero and his assistant (young, blond, super sweet woman - didn't catch her name) are great, super knowledgeable and were so patient with my 5 year old son during his oral surgery experience. Dr. Romero and his assistant are the ONLY reason I'm giving Solace 2 stars instead of 0. When my son was referred to Solace, I gave them a call to schedule an appointment. They told me they don't take patients younger than 8 and that I should call my dentist back and get another referral. When I did that, my dentist told me that Solace has always taken their younger patients. After much back and forth phone calling between myself, Solace and my pediatric dentist; it was confirmed that Solace DOES take younger patients but that they needed to do a consultation appointment first. Why they couldn't just tell me that in the first place is beyond me. So then we go to the consultation and the appointment itself doesn't take long but we are told to wait for someone to speak to us about the financial piece of our visit. We wait 45 minutes and no one comes into the room to talk to us. When I finally flag down an employee in the hall, she tells me that it's strange and that the front desk must be really busy so she'll have someone give me a call or email. NOTHING. I hear NOTHING for a week. So I call just to be told that they had no intention of talking to me in the first place since my son's surgery had to be pre-approved by his insurance. So my 45 minute wait could have be indefinite if I hadn't inquired about what was going on. After all this, we FINALLY get the appointment scheduled for 7 am on a Tuesday morning. We show up at 7:03 am and the doors are closed, lights are off. I try calling the office, no answer. I try banging on the door, no answer. My starving (he had to fast), exhausted (we had to wake up early and drive 45 mins to the office) 5 year old and I wait 20 minutes and no one shows up. We check the doors one more time - still closed, lights off. I remember that they have a second address listed on Google so we drive there. There is no Solace Oral Surgery at 207 23rd Ave N. When we decide to turn around and go back, I get a phone call from their office wondering where I am. I'm in disbelief and say "Where I am??? Where are you guys???" And the woman on the phone tells me that she's sorry that the door wasn't open at 7, they were having a meeting and it ran late. THEY WERE THERE! In the office! While we waited outside. The level of unprofessionalism in their office is insane to me. I have never in my whole life seen anything like it. I would go back to Dr. Romero but only if he got some new office staff. UPDATE: Minutes after writing this review, I received a phone call from Solace telling me that my son has been approved for his oral surgery and to call them back to make an appointment. My son already had his oral surgery at Solace over a week ago. The office staff really needs to get it together. read more

Dr Romero and his staff are simply outstanding caring and kind individuals.My son Mikey Joyce is a 26 year old young man who is nonverbal autistic and mildly intellectually challenged he's had a grand total of 34 surgeries for mostly ears and teeth but he treated very well by dr Romero s staff he got to see the service dog while they were getting him ready for surgery. They kept me informed about how the surgery was going and before I knew it my baby was coming out to the Jeep in a wheelchair and he was going back home.I love the fact that they're treating all of their patients like they're family.Hes our oral surgeon most definitely until we're leaving Tennessee next fall and I hope and pray that there's someone else that is coming close to being him when I get back home to Ohio read more

Dr. Romero and his staff are truly as good as it gets! I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled in one setting and was beyond nervous. He and his staff were able to ease my fears, were extremely kind and attentive, and went above and beyond for me. I have never been to a doctor who made me feel more like a person than another name on their chart. My healing has been wonderful and I've had no complications. I just want to thank Dr. Romero and his team for the experience my mother received for her oral surgery! I took my mother to Solace Oral Surgery, and she was very pleased with her experience. He did incredible dental work on her, and now she can smile with confidence. We will be always be grateful with Dr. Romero and his wife, Eva. This is one of the best experiences that she ever had! The team was always understanding and patient. As well as the ladies up front were pleasant and fast working. Dr. Romero was willing to see my mother immediately even though he already had a full schedule. His office was willing to be cooperative, and do things they typically do not do in office and went out of their way to help my mother. My mother has a few medical problems and yet their team was always cautious and understanding of her medications and special needs due to the medical problems. She was a bit worried and anxious for the surgery, but she had the pleasure to meet Phoenix (the Solace service dog) who calmed her nervous immediately. During the surgery Dr. Romero found a cyst in my mother's mouth that we had no idea about, and made sure to review and explain the treatment for a cyst to us. Dr. Romero was always very kind, compassionate, and fast working. Not only did we meet their staff, but Mrs. Romero (The CEO of Solace). Mrs. Romero spoke to and later had checked up on my mother. When do you ever see the CEO of a business check on their patients. That showed they truly care. Thanks to Solace Oral Surgery, my mother's life has changed for the better, and her self esteem has gone up tremendously. Whenever we need any oral surgery work again we will be going to Dr. Romero.
