Soldiertown is one of the best basketball facilities in the SF Bay Area. It is exciting and in a central location. It is home to the Oakland Soldiers team. I would have given it five stars but I deducted one star for 3 ongoing minor irritations! I will list suggestions on how to improve and make this facility even better: FIRST, NO parking despite having a parking lot which they charge 5.00 for. Not the greatest of areas, parking outside gets jammed packed too( no wonder it used to be called Jamtown...lol...just playing!). Note the restaurant supply store will tow if you are parked in their area. SECOND, they do not allow the great vendors outside to sell drinks!!! On a hot day, you are dying bc their vending drink machines are not working, but takes your money! They don't always have someone that can fix or help you either to get your money back! So Soldiertown, please allow the vendors to sell some drinks( maybe just different brands then the ones you have in the vending machines?) ! Otherwise, people are getting upset as I was working the entry table as a volunteer at this weekend's tournament and people were upset Saturday machines were broken and taking their money and they wanted their money back! I told them we have nothing to do with the machines. And some were asking if there was a snack bar so that would be good to have again, too! THIRD, wish they have more Soldier gear and an open shop esp during tournaments! They are always out of supplies- please order more! Have a website that is working( doesn't work!), so we can buy and think about how much you are losing by not having it available! So many times I want to buy at your store or website, but always not available! I give up! Please order more of the FAMILY sweatshirts, hoodies, short sleeve tees and long sleeved tees in ALL sizes for both men and women! I have 7 in the family and we want to represent, so can you imagine how much money you could have made when all of these families want to buy some, but these are not available? HINT: NOW I bring my ice chest and bring my own drinks since it never works there! Wish they bring back their snack bar in the back and sell the drinks there even! So TIP and be forewarned: Bring lots of water and soda in your cooler- you will thank me! Otherwise I love Soldiertown! One more thing, I noticed people asking me at the entry table. YES, they DO have an ATM machine available in the gym! Just be aware to make sure to push EXiT on the ATM machine bc when I was working security there many people left it open and you can see their transactions and luckily I saw it and I am an honest person so exited out for them or else someone can get money out of their accounts or something!? So while I was there I would remind them to make sure they pushed the exit button and go to the beginning screen! Edited to add: Met the Soldier's owner, Mark, working at the vending machine in fact lol! Idk if he read the yelp beforehand, but they were working fine that Sunday and filled! It shows good management if he did read it and implement the suggestions! All the Soldier staff from the guy who kept the place clean and constantly filling the soap dispensers ( always with a smile whatever we asked him to do- bring chairs, clean bathroom, fill soap, picked up trash constantly, etc- he was great and I personally thanked him even bc he was working so hard!) to the manager and even to the owner! They were in full force on Sunday making sure everything ran smoothly and were very friendly and great staff! Love this facility even more now and if they implement my suggestions to help their place be even better than the best they are now! The ultimate place to hold a tournament and represent! I just wish it was closer to me so my son could go there to practice everyday! Excellent business!

From a spectator's standpoint, Jamtown is a nice place. The courts are in good condition and are adequately spaced out with enough seating to watch your kid's games. Each court has a large score/clock that are easily viewed. The best thing about Jamtown though? At least on weekends, there's the food tent that serves a decent selection of hot food. The waffles are a must try. The food is 5 stars.

Only downside about this place it parking. We come here often for my nephew's games, but parking always seems to be somewhat of an issue.

The staff was incredibly nice, organized, and helpful, which made the whole party feel stress-free. The facility was very clean and there was so much variety for the kids to do -- climbing wall, arcade games, obstacle course, giant jumping pad, and plenty of space to run around and play. Every kid had an amazing time, and multiple parents told me afterward that they would love to have their own child's birthday party there. Highly recommend for a fun and easy birthday party!

Off the bat, I want to say this is one of the more affordable indoor playgrounds I've been to (some I've gone to will charge for adults?!) and there was no time limit (some places give you a time limit of how long you can play for) so that was a plus. They do require you to purchase their socks (can't be grippy socks from anywhere else) but even with the socks and day pass, I want to say it was only $35? The kids loved running around the swing ropes, the indoor playground with slide, and the big bouncy thingy under the bouldering wall. My only concern about the bouncy thingy by the bouldering wall is there aren't any safety rails or things around it and I can't tell if it's safer with or without it but I definitely needed to stay close by in case he bounced off the entire cushion thingy. If you have highly sensitive little ones or neurodivergent kiddos, this place may be a tad overstimulating with the arcade right smack dab in the middle. Like other reviewers had mentioned, it would be nice if the arcade was slightly away from the physical play so that kids aren't distracted/overstimulated by the arcade screens. We did eventually end our outing at the arcades (spent another $40 on the game card...sigh) but luckily we won a big jackpot from one of the games to make it all worth it! Of note, you can't really wear your shoes in the bathroom which is kinda gross so bear that in mind. All in all, definitely one of the better indoor playgrounds in the Bay Area!

This place has been around since my parents were little and they've been there too! Pretty neat. I used my wic card and valid photo Id for 5$ tickets, I couldn't tell you exactly how many is the cap but there were 5 adults and the kids were free I believe. We went as soon as it opened and the park was not overly packed at all it was really nice. I plan on getting out with my kiddo whenever I get the chance as I saw many mothers just hanging out with lunch for their kiddo for the day and I just loved that idea. Everything was open for the most part except two attractions which didn't stop us from enjoying the visit all around. From what I've learned if you visit the park twice your third visit you get a year pass! I'd say that's pretty convenient being a low income single mother. Hope I helped convince you to go !

It is rare to find a space where children don't just play, but truly thrive. The facility is top-notch and equipped with every amenity the kids could possibly need to stay engaged and happy. It is also one of the few places where I can actually feel relaxed as a parent, knowing they are in a safe, thoughtfully designed environment. What really makes this place special, however, is the incredible staff. They are so caring, patient, and genuinely passionate about helping kids. A special shout-out to Jorga, who manages the place! Her leadership and dedication are evident in every detail, and she goes above and beyond to ensure every family feels welcome and supported. After the…read moreinitial drop-in class yesterday we purchased weekly classes with the full expectation this initial great experience will only be surpassed. Husband & wife team Matt and Chelsea (owners) and Matt's sister Stephanie are lovely. It's a really great space and Matt is preternaturally good with younger kids. I shadowed my son for a bit in the studio to observe both my son's behavior in a structured environment and the instructors' teaching style. My son is both young and inherently independent (and often distracted) so this was bound to be revealing. Matt and Chelsea's approach to teaching is closer to informed guidance and it seems to work very well with my son and the other kids I observed. They let the child initiate their creative intent and then equip them with the technical information they need in a manner that is both empowering and not overwhelming. As for my son's proclivity to essentially 'not listen,' Matt in particular was excellent at focusing my son's attention on the task at hand and contextualizing what needed to be done so that he could 'own it.' It's clear his forthcoming studio experiences will be about so much more than learning and enjoying ceramics. This isn't 'OK class today we're going to make a coil-built pot. First I want you to take your clay and...'. Not at all. In an hour and fifteen minutes, my son made two objects in distinctly different techniques: a bowl thrown on the wheel and a slab-built shark. In the course of building those two pieces he was exposed to: centering clay on the wheel; managing the clay to expand, compress, elongate and widen his bowl; keeping his eye on his work; keeping the clay moist; the effects of various pressures applied to the clay on the wheel; scoring and attaching separate pieces with slip; scribing; use of various tools; under-glazing; clean-up, and more. I imagine he'll have to revisit every one of those lessons in subsequent classes but it's a gentle teaching style that works well here. Matt and Chelsea always had an eye on each of the kids and were great about transitioning between them to give guidance in a way that seemed very natural. The space itself is wonderful and can only be described as luminous. Well, that and clean. This is not a stereotypical 'mad potter's studio,' nor is it an anal 'everything in its place mausoleum.' Instructors have a clear view of everything going on in the space at all times. There's a front seating for parents/nanny's to hang out (WiFi available) and get some work done if you want to wait. Parking in the neighborhood doesn't seem to be a problem. The most critical measure of Kids-n-Clay is the reaction from my son, who really didn't want to leave and spoke of it more or less non-stop the rest of the day. Looking forward to what's next here. If you attend a drop-in class, be aware it takes about 2-3 weeks before pieces cycle through the process and can come home with you. But that's just ceramics. Highly recommended.

On to the childrens' play area. It's a little small but meets the needs of the park. There are two swings, a rock climbing wall that leads to the slide, monkey bars, a see-saw, and some other stuff that I don't know the name of.
