However, being made in America is a noticable selling point that stuck with me. Once inside, I was warmly greeted by Theresa from the sales staff and to be truthful, I never spoke to anyone in the footwear buisness that was as knowledgeable as she is. My dress shoes are always high quality, typically Italian -- some I even purchased there, yet Theresa was more knowledgeable. I stepped on the machine that gives information on your feet, pressure, pronation, arch, etc. This was a great day in my footwear purchasing history as I learned so much about Red Wing and all they do for their customers to support their products, I wish I could have bought multiple pairs.

Exasperated, I pulled out a pair of boots, one had a hole in the sole. I said "Well do you think you can repair this?" He said yes, and that they'd have to replace both soles, which I expected. But not for $110. What a dismissive experience. It would be cheaper to ship my shoes back to my cobbler in Chicago than to deal with Peter & Sons. They obviously don't need new business!
