I probably get dry cleaning done once or twice a year and I always take it to Americlean. I can't comment on how they compare in cost, but I imagine they aren't the cheapest, but they aren't the most expensive either. What I am really writing this review on is their tailoring service. I've taken numerous things to Robert to get tailored and it is has always come out excellent. He is not cheap, but he does quality work and I would trust him with my most precious clothing. Recently I took my fiancees ripped canvas messenger bag to see if it could be repaired. When he was finished, he made it look like it had never been torn in the first place. Another project I brought in was a different canvas bag the has an internal lining. I wanted some patches put on it without going through the lining. He not only was able to accomplish this, he also perfectly matched the several different colors of thread for the patches so they just blend right in. You can't even tell they are sewed on. I wear a military uniform and often need my skirts and pants altered, and always take it to Americlean, even though I could get it done cheaper at work. I go for the quality. This is a family owned small business and they sometimes email dry cleaning coupons/specials out for 50% off a shirt dry cleaning, etc. read more

My first time coming by Americlean I was more than pleasantly surprised. I walked in right when they opened at 7AM... to my surprise I was greeted by all three of the ladies working there. Sharrian, Sandra, and Catherine! They were all smiling and eager to help me with all my needs for that morning! I felt so blessed to have chosen their location to do business with. I came from Mt. Pleasant it was about a 20 min drive for me, but WELL WORTH IT! These sweet ladies must have a Doctorate in Customer Service and Hospitality. I needed my suit jacket and dress shirt pressed and I needed it for an interview at 11AM (mind you.. it was 7:30AM already) I knew I was asking for a miracle and it was long shot... but to my surprise Sharrian went back to discuss with Sandra(who would be responsible for my jacket) and Catherine (who would be responsible for my shirt) of the possibility that my miracle could become a reality. She came back with the biggest smile and said, "it won't be a problem, just make sure you get the job! :)" This is a first class establishment, I would refer NO other cleaning service in all of Charleston. The shirt and suit jacket came out looking better than brand new if that is even possible!! These ladies at Americlean are working so very hard and intentionally to ensure you look your best for business, special occasions, or for whatever your needs are. Great tailoring service! Most military folks will tell you that uniforms left in your closet for a long time shrink :)) and I discovered my dinner dress blue pants needed the waste let out with less than 24 hours before catching a flight. I explained my situation and the owner immediately called their partnering tailor service "Julius Alterations & Cleaner" in Mount Pleasant. When I arrived they dropped what they were doing and tailored my pants in only 40 minutes while I enjoyed a Latte at Starbucks next door. I took my Service Dress Blues there to be dry cleaned for a military funeral and when I got them back there were wrinkles on the pants, shirt, and jacket. Not to mention hair. Absolutely unacceptable. read more
