If you are looking for strong scents in the form of candles or soaps this is the place to go in downtown Mebane. There are also some clothes and other interesting items that you can purchase for the home. Great place for shopping for gifts. I can't tell you how many times I've gone there looking for gift ideas and found the perfect thing that I needed. I get gifts there all of the time for my niece, grandmothers, mother, sister, etc and always get the most compliments on those items. Great place to find things for your home too. Solgarden was one of the first stores downtown that caught my eye after moving to Mebane. I went in just to check the place out and walked out with about 5 Christmas gifts (and this was in July!). I have a few people that I never know what to buy for them, but I found a ton here! Plus you can find great things for any price range. I've also bought a few neat decorations for our apartment and plan on going there for more unique things once we move into our new house! Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly.... Who is also awesome and the owner of Solgarden in downtown Mebane. (Her name is spelled Kelli but let's not split hairs ;)) This shop has been a staple of Mebane for at least a decade (probably more I'll need to investigate ;)). With a change of ownership, the torch has been passed to Kelli and the shop/boutique is still AMAZING! It's one of those shops you enter and you immediately think, I want my home to look like this AND I'd like to purchase one of everything! If you need a gift for FRIENDS, coworkers, anyone in your family , you can find it here. There's an awesome kids offerings area with smart toys, games, puzzle and decor, stuff for the dudes, and more than enough for the ladies with jewelry, clothes, etc. then the aforementioned home goods. I stopped in Friday night, while the Dogwood Festival was going on outside. The shop is full of awesome gift ideas, and the prices are actually very reasonable. When I first walked in the store, the overwhelming smell gave me a headache. The store smelled like bug spray and perfume mixed. I migrated away from where I thought the smell was coming from and looked through the mix of treasures. Though there were some neat items, everything was way over-priced! The owner couldn't stop talking with a lady asking about buying in bulk to even speak to my two daughters and me much less offer any assistance. I won't be back! read more
