We were able to bring him back within the same week. Just make sure that your references are available and know to pick up Operation Ava's phone call to make the process go smoothly and quickly. My favorite part about Operation Ava was that they kept the dogs in private rooms, instead of crates. Jessica at Saved Me was very helpful over the phone. I emailed her my application & provided her all the information she needed for me to be an approved adopter. I've had Maggie for over 2 weeks now & I LOVE her. She loves people & has an outgoing personality. She gets along with dogs easily & is so easy to train. I love that Saved Me allows you to get personal with the dogs before you make an inform decision. I played with Maggie for an hour & that's when I knew she was perfect. If you're looking to adopt, definitely go to Saved Me. You'll have the opportunity to meet dogs of various personalities & get to play with them as often as you would like before you decide if you're suitable for each other.

Solly is a disaster because of the nasty manager. Its so funny that theyre always advertising the barn as drama free when aileen talks about everyone and gives everyone such a difficult time. Its amazing how she gotten away with running this place into the ground for so long. They want Solly to just be their horses and the few people who do everything they want. It looks like theyre getting their wish since every other boarder has left. Its so sad because this place used to be really awesome when Ginny and Shelly were running it back in the day. Like somone else said on here - the public gives solly great reviews because theyre not dealing with having a horse there and the neglect that the horses receive. Go down on most days and witness for yourself the horses in their own filth, no food or water, filthy stalls - what kind of life is that?! The only time your horse is out enjoying life as a horse is if the owner takes it out. The place is falling a part and theres no reason since they have fundraisers are always begging for donations. what was done with the money? The only time solly was vandalized was from aileens daughters boyfriend!! i boarded here for many years to long and saw so many good people treated like dirt who up and left. Solly will never maintain good boarders when the manager is a tyrant. the fake board of directors at solly is made up of people that aileen chose - no boarder has ever gotten a say in whose elected. she chooses the people that she knows will never have an opinion. The camera system they installed is such a joke considering ive had tack and hay stolen and they did nothing about it because we all know its them stealing! the cameras strictly benefit them not the boarders. The trails are also horrible with dirtbikes and motorized vechiles riding right at you and your horse. Pennypack is far from a nice trail system. My horse is so much happier now being in an open field all day, eating to his hearts delight and away from someone who doesnt care about animals or people!! DO NOT BOARD HERE! YOU WILL REGRET IT AND YOUR POOR HORSE WILL SUFFER GREATLY. GET AILEEN OUT OF THERE AND SOLLY WILL THRIVE AGAIN!! read more

I know this won't stay out long at least maybe long enough for other people to read it if you going to Sally Stables Facebook page and write a negative review it will be removed by the the manager of the page. The Stables need a lot of work since the new Solly stable Riders Association basically nothing has been done to repair this beloved stable. This stable needs a new roof the stable needs new fencing The outside pens are dirty. Bringing a horse directly from auction and putting it in the pan with the other horses This can jeopardize to health of every horse at that stable. I have been in and out of that stable different hours of the day Including some really hot days where the horses had no water in their buckets, and on really hot days this can be extremely dangerous and can be life-threatening to a horse. Only by exposing what we have seen will things change. And only allowing positive comments on the Facebook page will not allow things to be exposed. I witnessed the person giving a horse giving a riding lesson meanwhile her son was running around on a tricycle slamming it in and out of the barn up against the Stalls even going as far as you trying to shove the tricycle under the fence in the same pen where the lesson was taking place. This could put the child that was on the horse life in jeopardy and all that was said we'll stop that nothing was done to stop the child from doing it. I've been on and off this Farm over the last 30 years. Solly Stables needs New Management to raise the funds to do the repairs This Barn is falling into disarray day by day. At any given time you can walk to the turnout pens and you can find days old horse manure what happened to cleaning up. I look forward to posting more pictures and there will be more reviews coming shortly about unsatisfied owners that have been thrown off the property. Solly Stables is one of the best stables in Philadelphia to me. I had no experience with riding horses by myself. I've been there only 4 times so far, and I've learned so much, it's unbelievable. I don't even just learn how to ride. I also learn how to groom them, put their tack on, and so much more. Solly is also amazing because it has annual picnics and activities where everyone can come and contribute even if they don't take lessons there. I also love how you can still come and ride even when it's snowing. It looks beautiful in the winter. All of the horses are well treated and taken care of and they're magnificent to see. I love horses so much and Solly has made most of my dreams come true. That place is my happiness and it allows me to always be outside and have something productive to do. Best Barn in the close to far Northeast Section of Philadelphia! The barn is seated in a residential area, and caters to the youth with their 4-H program; which gives the young inns a chance to learn about Equines (Horses), they also have various events which is opened to the public as well. A wide range of horses, ponies & miniature horses as well. The barn manager is the wonderful, Mrs. Tara Keller (a woman with a wide range of knowledge of horses since after all she has a few horses too). I love solly! Ive been here for years. Taking lessons, leasing an amazing horse and now a new horse owner! All of the horses are loved by everyone at the barn and all our friendly Neighbors. Solly is the only local barn that still holds a 4H club for children!!!!!!!! Amazing trails to ride! Turnouts and arena for riding! Even enjoy a trail ride with other boarders! We love to go out together have fun and enjoy our horses! read more

I have been at Solly Stables for over 10 years. When the horse I was riding retired I made the point to keep riding at the barn. The vast improvements in recent years were all the result of the active members of the barn donating their own time and having fundraisers. read more

The set up utilizes some horse facilities from the Jeffords estate. Horse culture at this location dates back to the turn of the 19th C. and has links to Samuel Riddle, breeder of Man O' War and other famed racehorses. Boarding is available here with beautiful paddocks. There are 40 acres of pasture for grazing. There is a brand new enclosed ring that was built about a year ago. Also a heated tack room, and washing area (outside). We notice that horses are always blanketed when it is cold out, and they always look lively and content. In addition to boarding, they offer beginner, intermediate and advanced lessons, horse education ("hands-on"), pony rides, and parties. Often people host birthday parties at the nearby park picnic area with playground, and enjoy pony rides as part of the party. To visit and exercise your horse, there is a separate horse trail adjacent to the horse farm, just across Gradyville Road. North of Gradyville Rd the trail is roughly a figure 8 shape, & is the longest trail overall (4.7mi) for the park, and the only one equestrian-accessible. This is the widest unpaved park trail, since it is for horses. Note that walkers & dogs also use this trail, and populate it more than horses. A large northern section of the trail abuts Edgmont Country Club golf course, & the green's activities can be observed from the trail.

I had a terrible experience with Opportunity Barks. The City School program keeps the dogs crated…read morefor 6 of the 7 hours they are there. The 1 hour of training includes potty breaks. When I picked up my 8 month old puppy she was so desperate to pee and poo, she went on the sidewalk in front of their building. She was so thirsty she was panting and needed water immediately. I sent food but she did not eat there. To compound the problem, Communication is awful. They don't let you into the space. You stand on the sidewalk - they crack open the door and pull her in or give you the leash to take her out. You get 1 email a week with some photos and videos. They don't appear to read the form you fill out and don't discuss goals. I told them that my puppy has had training since birth, but their first video was showing me how to hold a leash. The second video was of a different dog being trained - they said my dog was tethered watching. Throughout the entire video I could hear her crying. No one attempted to soothe her at all. I provided constructive input verbally and in writing by email. Despite my bad experience at the City School, I was still interested in the Farm School. I went to the open house and they were much more transparent about what a typical day looks like there. But before the evaluation day (which is separate from the City School evaluation), they called me to say that they were cancelling the evaluation because I am not a good fit for their program. They said it had nothing to do with my dog, who is a very sweet Labrador, it is because I am not "aligned" with them. They were not willing to even listen to why I thought the Farm School would be a better fit than the City School, saying that the decision had been made "by senior management" and it is not worth wasting time talking about it. Wow!

Then they charged me an additional $95 a week after that visit for blood work, which I assumed I was charged for while I was there. This was all before I was even quoted $650-$900 for the teeth cleaning for my perfectly healthy cat. I live right down the street from this place too, but there's no way I'm coming back here for these prices. Extremely disappointed.
