I had a frustrating experience at Old Navy Sauthbury . I bought 5 items, but I was overcharged…read morebecause two items were added twice. My total came out to $80 when it should have been around $50. When I went back to the cashier, she told me only one item would be refunded. I had to explain again that there were actually two duplicate charges. Only after insisting, she checked again and finally processed the correct return. The situation was confusing and embarrassing. I hope staff can be more careful and pay better attention when scanning items.

The Old Navy in the brass City mall went out of business but that place was as always a mess and the employees weren't helpful. This Southbury location is a little far from my house but I will definitely make the trip here!

I just returned home from the official opening day of this jewel of a store today and I was blown…read moreaway by the enthusiasm of all the excited shoppers. There is definitely something for everyone. I left with a sequined cocktail dress that I intend to wear to my grandson's wedding ( so you can guess my age group) as well as an elegant top to dress up a pair of white jeans. Both set me back under $120. Amazing. There's an Emanuel jacket that I may have to return to buy. It was under $50. While I was there, the younger set was busy finding tiny dress treasures and YSL handbags. This was a sophisticated/ mixed age group. I overheard many shoppers tell Erin that they had been eagerly anticipating the store opening as they watched the changes she has made to the property over the past few months. You can tell she loves her store. Erin was beaming as she helped shoppers put outfits together. One woman looked so gorgeous in a long sequined evening gown that her companions audibly gasped. When the woman questioned whether her daughter ( the bride ) would think it suitable for the wedding party, Erin encouraged her to bring it home to physically show her daughter! WHAAAT? I wondered if she knew her personally, but, no. Erin told me it was just the right thing to do. You cannot believe the inside! Paint pens are available to write messages on the bright pink bathroom walls. Those left there after just one day were so cute. So there's something for everyone and you'll have fun shopping...for a change. Remember those days? They are no longer in the rear view mirror. Go to Newtown and see for yourself.

My wife purchased a Patagonia Snap-T from Island Outfitters. It happened to be a size too large so…read moreshe went to exchange it for a smaller size. Before making the trip to Fairfield we checked the online return policy to make sure we would receive a refund if an exchange wasn't possible. The policy clearly confirms that if an exchange is not possible, a refund will be issued. Upon arrival, she was told that only store credit could be received and that they would not get anymore Snap-Ts in stock to exchange. They were also unaware of the online return policy despite my wife's insistence to look. They denied any refund and while they won the battle and retained the 100 dollars from my Snap-T, they will not receive anymore business from us. FYI, Patagonia in Westport gladly exchanged Island Outfitters' Snap-T. Stick to the larger retailers like REI and Patagonia. Better prices and far better service.
