This office has been going downhill rapidly. Had to wait in exam room for 45 minutes with no curtain. There were 7 very pregnant women in the waiting room with 95° weather and no water cooler available for them to have a cool drink. Water cooler is only available in the break room. Furniture is old and dirty. Drs come and go and so do the staff. I have been going here for 50 years and since it has gone corporate it gone down hill fast. Avoid this office at all cost. read more

The doctors are ok. But, the office staff are horrible! Especially Michelle, she is so unprofessional and ungrateful, she kept on cutting me off while I was talking. I went for a routine checkup, and was billed $35 for an office visit. When I inquired about nature of the charge the office staff told me I was charged because I asked a question during my routine visit. This is unacceptable! my daughter has emotional issues and has been seeing Dr. Miranda for a long time and thinks she is terrific. Office staff not so good. they are not very courteous and knowledgeable. i had a question regarding medicare and medicaid, they kept going back to the office manager, who did not give us the courtesy to talk directly to me, and could only tell me that it is a law regarding medicaid. needless to say my wife and daughter will be seeing a new doctor. read more

I was a patient with this practice for about 5 years and I am so happy to have found a good OBGYN elsewhere. Each time I made an appointment, the receptionists were pretty rude to start and then I waited at least 30 minutes past my appointment time, sometimes even 45 minutes to an hour. Each time I asked about wait times the front staff was quite rude and offered no apology or explanation for the delay. The icing on the cake was the attitude I recieved from Michelle Liddy on several occasions. The last appointment I told her firmly that I didnt wish to discuss birth control options at this time and she kept pushing the issue and making comments like she knew better. I wouldn't ever go back or recommend this office to anyone. read more

Terrible place. You feel like you're in a cow slaughterhouse and you get shepherd from one place to the other. Plus you have to wait so long just to see a doctor. Lastly, it takes them over 3 days to return your call after taking a pregnancy test. What's even worse, they don't even call you back, you have to call them. Who does that?! (for a simple pregnancy test confirmation). To make things even worse, when they tell you the results...it's not correct...WOW...yes...i know. They probably mixed the results with someone else (poor other family). Avoid this place as they're too busy to give quality care...which begs the question of why are people coming to this place in the first place to receive poor care. The way the receptionist treated my wife was putrid. And not just for one appointment......consistently for an entire pregnancy. This wasn't a single isolated rude interaction, this was a nasty trash-person....consistently....for nine months. Horrible 2 week D & C post op experience with Dr. Pineda. With a 3:30 appointment waited 2 hours before I was seen. She didn't read my file before she came in. Sprung genetic results on me without warning ( we were told by Dr Woltz who performed the D & C they wouldn't be ready at my post op). My husband wasn't there for the results because he had to leave to pick up our son because they were running 2 hours late. Genetic results were delivered to me with no counseling other than saying the genetics were normal and the miscarriage cause was unknown. Which was another blow because we had been told over and over it was likely a chromosomal issue, but it wasn't. I had to ask 10 questions to get any other explanation. Thank goodness my head was clear enough to do that. You'd think delivering such news would have been done more sensitively, and thoroughly, she didn't even know the size my fetus was measuring at the time of the ultrasound with no heartbeat. She had to go look it up when I asked. She didn't even have my paper file in the room. I was the last patient they saw that day, and I honestly felt like she couldn't wait to be done with me to go home. I'm sorry I wasn't an easy annual Pap smear, I was a post op high risk 40 year old woman who was dealing with her second D&C and MMC. Facts again she didn't know until I told her because she didn't look at my file before coming in. I saw the PA (Amna) as I left, who diagnosed the MMC, she asked if the Dr suggested a referral to fertility specialists. I said she didn't and Amna was shocked. I like Amna. After this I don't think I can go back there. I lived further north when I had my son and first miscarriage and saw Dr Garfinkle in Morristown. He took his time spoke to us in his office and respected the difficultly we had dealing with the news. Not like Dr. Pineda who gave me lab results alone while sitting on an exam table with no counseling or offer to speak with someone else while I sobbed in front of her. She even failed to say "you're healed up great, it's ok to stick things in your vagina now!" Which was what I thought to be the PURPOSE of the visit. I honestly don't like to leave reviews for things, but this was something I couldn't keep quiet about. My experience on Friday was too traumatic. I won't go back. Dr. Woltz was great. Amna was great. Even saw Dr. Miranda for earlier issues and she was fine. But Dr. Pineda dropped the ball BIG TIME. And if you are seeing the doctors it's a crap shoot, you can see any of the three. If you are high risk, with recurrent miscarriages and are looking for a sensitive approach I highly encourage you to find another practice. read more

I became a patient of this practice when I was pregnant with our first son back in 2014. Dr. Woltz delivered our first and just recently, Dr. Miranda delivered our second son. They are both wonderful (my brief interactions with Dr. Pineda were always pleasant as well) and I would definitely recommend them. They are easy to talk with and keep it real. While the wait time can be long, it's not their fault and the quality of the service is worth it. I would suggest making your appointment as early as you can though. They recently merged with another Axia in East Brunswick so their on call schedule is less intense so hopefully that will allow them to be at the office more. They have two NPs who are also readily available. The office staff are helpful and the nurses are sweet and knowledgeable. read more

The people here need a whole lot of attitude adjustment. Aside from that, they make you wait for well over an hour past your scheduled appointment time. Label themselves as specialists.....however the only thing the specialize in is bad attitudes and incompetence. I was about 2 months pregnant and needed to speak to the dr, as I was having pains with history of a miscarriage and she refused to call me back, they also told me she would call within a half hour of each phone call. I had to call numerous times and when I did finally speak with her, she laughed at me and said"you're not my only patient. " Yes I realized this, ...however I waited 4 hours for a call back. Yeah, ...a DOCTOR LAUGHED AT A PREGNANT PATIENT IN PAIN. It was Dr.Pineda. Stupid me should have just gone to the er. these people should have their medical licenses revoked. read more

I love the doctors here but the office staff can do with some improvement. I called to make an appointment for an ultrasound. I was told I'd have to see a doctor first but she would schedule it next to an opening for a ultrasound. I saw the doctor and she agreed I needed an ultrasound. I've been sitting here waiting for an hour and am told it would probably be another hour since everyone with an APPOINTMENT has to go first. Maybe the staff should listen to the patient when they say they need an ultrasound instead of dismissing it . Three hours in an office is not how I expected to spend my day off. read more

The doctors are great but unfortunately the staff is awful. I've been a very long time patient, but once I deliver my baby I will most certainly be looking for a new doctor. The veteran staff at the front desk always have a nasty attitude when checking in or scheduling a follow up appointment. They never call to tell you the results of your test; you have to proactively stay on top of them for everything but especially if it pertains to billing. My insurance company had been asking for information to deem a procedure done was a medical necessity which I reached out to Michelle Vanderputten in September requesting they provide the information requested to the insurance to pay for the claim. Followed up again today about it and to my surprise discovered an entire month passed and nothing had been done. She had the nerve to ask me which lab the claim was from instead of looking back at the email thread. Pure laziness and complete disappointment. They have the nerve to harass you for payments but can not do their jobs properly. read more

This isn't a review of the care because I didn't make it to seeing a doctor because of disorganization and admin issues. I scheduled an appointment which was supposed to take 90 minutes and showed up on time. They made me wait 45 minutes. When I finally got in, they said they couldn't see me because they didn't have my prior medical records. If records were required, why schedule me without them? Moreover, why not let me know during the 45 minutes you had me waiting? It's just disappointing because I'm not in a position to take whole vacation days to get care. I ended up taking 3 hours to allot for this 90 minute appointment and I didn't even receive care. read more

I love the office its nice and clean, the older lady that sits at the front desk is really sweet and helpful, Ive only met one Dr so far(Dr Arora) and I love her but during pregnancy she said I would be seeing all the doctors and Im sure they will all be nice, the nurses and ultrasound tech are all nice and really do take care of you.I chose this place because I got a recommendation from another doctor of mine and she said she would definitely recommend Somerset OBGYN for pregnancy. Oh so far Ive never felt rushed with the doctor or nurses; they take their time and answer all questions. read more

I was a patient for 4 years then I became pregnant unexpectedly for the first time at 42. I received ZERO advice or guidance from this practice. When they sent me to St Peters for my CVS test at 13 weeks and the maternal fetal doctors there broke my water during the test and killed my baby, Somerset OB was nowhere to be found. I was left to find a doctor / hospital on my own for a D&E (no fluid left for my baby girl to breathe) on my own. They would only help me if I went back to St Peters. Please do not trust your pregnancy or health with this practice. read more

This is for the Hillsborough office. The doctors/nurse practitioners are fine but the receptionists are COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT. Claimed to have sent a prescription refill months ago that was "never received" then told me (after several phone calls to both the office and the local pharmacy) that they would fax in my prescription again today. Several hours later I called the pharmacy, who had not received it. I call the office and am told that Maryann who does the e-presciptions will "do them when she does them", that she only does them at the end of the day at 5PM, and that there is no way she can send in the prescription earlier even though the pharmacy closes at 6PM and I need my medication NOW. This is ridiculous, unethical, and I cannot wait to change offices. read more

We needed a second opinion on my sister's 9 weeks pregnancy condition. Her ultrasound couldn't find the baby's heartbeat. So we called up for an appointment. But the lady at the front desk said they'll not be able to give an appointment for second opinions and asked my sister to finish her problem first and then come to them. What is there to go to them after the problem is finished ? I mean what sort of medical service are they providing. Isn't medical service all about providing it when needed? I've been going to this place for several years and like the doctors and the fact that is is an all female facility (only female doctors and nurses). I don't always like the receptionist tone when they answer the phone, but I've only had one or two incidents since I started going there. Also, I only went to the Hillsborough office once and never again, it is not a nice office. For OB services, they have you see all the doctors and RNs, as any of them could be delivering your baby at Saint Peter's hospital. So far, I feel like they take care of the patient and make sure the patient has the information they need. I definitely recommend this place, specially for a new mom. read more

The staff are horrible. They never call you back, I was diagnosed with mastitis. I saw Amna Tuesday and diagnosed me with mastitis. If anyone has ever had it, it's the worse. I had 103 degree fever with excruciating pain and was given antibiotics. I also have a 2 month old at home where it's very hard to care for, and I am a first time mother. Day 2: fever was not subsiding, I called to let them know the I needed a doctors note which they provided me a first and 2nd time. Dr. Woltz called and I let her know my fever was 101.9, the redness on my breast has spread along with the misshape breast, vomiting and the pain to Express milk. She said it was going to take a bit and that I should take 3 over the counter 200mg each of motrin every 6 hours. I asked about a doctors note to cover me today and potentially tomorrow which dr. Woltz said the office will provide for me. Day three: I have white patches on my breast. I'm freaking out. I called them and Michelle asked if the baby had white in his mouth to which there was nothing. I told her I was not breastfeeding him to which she said it could be thrush. Why would it be thrush, I told you I had mastitis and you're diagnosing me? I asked her if I should come in and see a doctor or go to the hospital. She said she will leave q message for dr. Pineda. 2 hours later nothing. I called them again and they say they are waiting on the doctor and the doctor has been seeing patients all morning. Michelle asked me again if the baby had patches in his mouth, to which again, he does not. Then she basically is telling me she is wondering if the baby has thrush. AGAIN BABY HAS NO PATCHES. I'm getting annoyed now. They are acting on behalf of the doctors and trying to triage me. It almost sounded like they were making me out to be a hypochondriac. I asked for a doctors note because I still have a fever and plus Dr. Woltz said for me if I need they'll supply it. Now the staff, who apparently are doctors, are telling me they can only provide these notes as it takes 48 hours. So you're the doctor now? When I needed a doctor you cannot provide one? Then dr. Pineda tells me I have thrush and is going to prescribe nystatin for tomorrow, not today! I'm not sure what to do with these patches on my breast. Update: I went to work, started having uncontrollable shaking. My coworkers said I started to look pale. I go in a room to call the obgyn. Michelle said, 'but you started to feel better.' I did! And guess what, I don't. I couldn't even talk because I was shaking so much. They said they'd get back to me. They told me "if I you had the flu, to go see your primary or urgent care. They can order the ultrasound on your breast but I thought you said it was better," I couldn't drive as I worked an hour south and I couldn't think straight, they told me I'd have to come pick up the slip from their place and go to the hospital as they dont do ultrasounds. Well after that I had threw up, then passed out. I was at another hospital, oh and it was an abscess that turned into an infection. Those antibiotics you gave me, were resistant. Ans it was not a yeast infection. My mother called furious and the person at the desk, Sonya, didn't seem to have a care in the world. I love all of the doctors here; between Dr. Woltz, Dr. Pineda, and Dr. Miranda, I really could not choose a favorite if you asked me to. I have been to many many doctors over my lifetime and have never found a group of doctors to be so capable, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I am so glad that I found this practice before I became pregnant for the first time 4 years ago. They delivered both of my babies and were wonderful with my pre-natal care and amazing in the delivery room. I recommend this practice to all of my friends. read more

I was a patient of this practice for many years. they used to be great, not anymore! Every time I would go there, they would act like I've never been there. They have my records and should know that I'be been going there for a long time. More recently I was having some issues and the only solution they wanted to offer was an IUD even though I explained several times that I didn't want an IUD. I was finally talked into one but had to have testing done first. I went and had an ultrasound done, which turned out normal, but too normal...ok...then I had to have a biopsy to make sure my normal results were really normal. I was assured that the test would be no big deal, I could go to work right after. I had to be pre-medicated due to a stenotic cervix. On the day of the procedure I arrived at the office and waited for an extremely long time, during which time they did another ultrasound, not sure why. The Dr. finally came in to do the biopsy and it was all business, no bedside manner at all, really no personality at all. The procedure was extremely painful, the Dr. actually said to me "didn't you have a child?", because I was literally crying during it! After the procedure she pretty much ran out of the room, no are you ok, no after care instructions given at all. The ultrasound tech. was more concerned than the Dr. was. I was in so much pain that I had to go home, I could not go to work, and I bled for about a week after the procedure which no one told me would happen. I called the next day to make sure what I was experiencing was normal and was told that it "could" be from the medication, not by the Dr. but by the receptionist, the Dr. would not speak to me. Then after about 10 days with no call from the office, I called them to ask for my results. After getting the run around, I was told that my results were normal and that I could schedule the IUD when I was ready. During this time I decided that I definitely did not want the IUD so I did not make another appointment, I kind of felt like there was nothing I could do since they refused to offer any other solutions. I continued to have bleeding issues so bad that I went to urgent care one day. While I was there the Dr. that was treating me tried calling Somerset OB/GYN to speak to the Dr. that performed the procedure and to see if it was ok to give me a certain medication to help with the bleeding. The Dr. REFUSED to speak to him and had the receptionist tell him to have me schedule a follow up appointment!! The Dr. from urgent care was actually so disturbed by this, he said he was going to report her to the medical board! I will never go back to this place and I suggest no one else does either! They don't care about their patients at all!! read more

I am new to the area and had a wonderful experience here. I would grant five stars, but they neglected to call in a refill for an ongoing prescription. Granted, I did not visit with a doctor since a PA was sufficient...but the care was just as detailed and compassionate (if not more) as a regular physician visit. From the way I was treated when I told Jazlyn and Michelle at the front desk that I would be paying cash for my first visit because I hadn't yet received my insurance I should have known that this would be an unpleasant experience. The front desk staff is unbelievably rude. I have never been to a doctors office where the staff speaks over you, cuts you off while speaking and all around makes you feel unwelcomed. Dr. Miranda is a terrible human being, she might be a good doctor but as a human she's an uncaring person who doesn't care about patients first, she's a judging person who has no problem turning away a sick pregnant person because she's not the ideal patient. Didn't bother to get facts or find out what was going on even though she delivered my daughters 1st baby and never had any issues. After being in the hospital for 5 days with an infection and calling the office and leaving a message for dr Miranda to call back, which she never did we made an appt which they had no problem making and taking a co pay, after being put in a room and told someone would be right with us the wonderful dr Miranda walks in to say we can no longer treat you!!! Why? Who knows, she didn't know what was going on but clearly made up her own conclusion and talked to us like we were some infected lepers. Unbelievable, I thought doctors were supposed to care about people not judge them. So disappointed, she clearly thinks she's something special! Turning away a 15 week pregnant patient and not even caring to refer her to someone who could help is inexcusable. read more
