    Cookies!

During COVID-19 Yelp teamed up with 13 local businesses to offer 20 different Yelp KITs (both DIY and meal deals) for grab & go enjoyment at home! I was looking for a business that delivers for free. Something Classic has a large variety menu and is doing $35 kits for 4 people. You get to pick two different entrees, get a salad for four with your choice of dressing and cookies for dessert. I went with the chicken piccata and sausage lasagna. My delivery was on a Monday. I received a confirmation email after I placed my order and asked if I would like to receive a text message when my order was on the way. I got a text 30 minutes before I received my order. It came in a cute red reusable bag. I included pictures of how everything was neatly packaged. If you are in a rush, you can heat the entrees up in the microwave, but I preferred the oven. Each entree took longer than the instructions on the package, but I didn't mind at all! My husband and I had the chicken piccata first, which was really good. Two days later we were blown away with the sausage lasagna, it was perfect. The salad was fresh. The highlight was the chocolate sea salt delicious cookie! We will be ordering again very soon, it was an awesome experience!

Mexican Street Form for Memorial Day

I've ordered from them for Mother's Day and Memorial Day and have been so pleased with the price and quality of their catering food. Specifically, our BBQ in a BOX came with Angus beef burgers for the main dish with Challah buns and special sauce; then side dishes were Mexican street corn, watermelon mint salad, baked beans, coleslaw, and deviled eggs with pickled okra; for dessert, we chose lemon raspberry bars and apple caramel hand pies; and lastly we got a 1/2 gallon of strawberry lemonade. Their food is always outstanding and I love that they've been delivering through this pandemic -- so convenient! They even make meals for just 2 if you're stuck on what to eat for dinner! Such a lifesaver.

Should be "Fried Chicken" Seitan, but ended up being rock-hard block of bread with little flavor. Completely different taste and texture.

This catering company is nothing but a disappointment. My husband and I got married on 10/27 and the food was nothing like what we had at our tasting at Fern. We went to Fern for our tasting and met with Caroline. Everything seemed great and Caroline assured us that everything would be perfect. We agreed on menu items and she said she'd send us the invoice. Upon receiving it we agreed to go with this catering company. Once we gave them our deposit we were put on the back burner. Caroline was impossible to reach. She took weeks to respond to emails, was very rude when we spoke with her on the phone, and there was a lot of confusion. We stuck with Fern/Something Classic because we did not have time to look for another catering company since it took Caroline so long to give us our invoice. We also wanted Something Classic because the food at Fern was so good. On our wedding day the food was nothing like what we had at the restaurant!! It was dry, chopped very poorly, and nothing was even remotely similar to what we paid for. We have contacted Karen Teed who told us she was busy and would reach out (this was 2 weeks ago). We expressed to her our dissatisfaction with our wedding day menu and she doesn't seem to care. The on-site staff deferred our concerns to Karen (the event coordinator), but she has chosen not to provide any answers. If I could give this company zero stars I would. If you're looking for someone who will make good food and provide good service to you as a customer steer clear of Something Classic, Fern, Caroline (at Fern), and Karen Teed. They do not care about customers the minute they get their money.

Recently received a frozen Something Classic Chicken Pot Pie as a gift. THREE lbs. of awful!! Ingredients list includes, in order, Red potatoes, Green Beans, Carrots, Celery, Yellow Onions, Leeks, White Wine, Butter, Flour, Chicken Stock, Pie Dough, Mushroom, Egg, Parsley, Rosemary, Salt & Pepper. SALT should have been listed as the FIRST ingredient. I disected this pie and my findings are as follows: A little pile of carrots, few mushrooms, few onions, ONE large chunk of red potato and a couple of small partial pieces, NO beans, some weird pieces of chicken ( I think they were), thick sauce and a ton of SALT SALT SALT!! And this can be yours for only 19.95 plus tax. Yuck. I won't embarrass my friend by ratting you out, Something Classic, but I will throw your food directly into the trash.

Still give Something Classic 5 stars. I got married two weekends ago and the food and service were both phenomenal.

She proved me RIGHT - she offered suggestions to save me money and to insure that the menu was adequate and appropriate for my guest size and population. Her delivery was on time and she set everything up for me. I got her business cards so I can pass them out to my friends. I will DEFINITELY use her again.

One…read morething that was incredibly frustrating was the pineapple on the fruit kabobs still had the outside skin on it making it just about impossible to eat during the cocktail hour. Overall the fruit was amazing and fresh though, just a bit impractical with the pineapple. Now the biggest reason I was unhappy with their catering was because when the dessert was served, they cut very few pieces and had them on the table for guests to grab. That's great, but those pieces were quickly gone and nobody was serving more pieces and the caterer didn't leave the little dessert plates on the table for people to serve themselves either. Secondly, while we sat down for dessert, the photographers yelled out that they wanted everyone on the dance floor for a quick group photo. After the photo was taken, I get back to my table and me and my husbands dessert is gone. The caterer was clearing all the tables as we took that photo which was so annoying since it took me forever to get a plate of dessert to begin with! Anyway, the foods not bad, just the way a few things were done was definitely the most memorable part of the wedding for me unfortunately.

As a foodie transplant from the West Coast, walking into Reid's immediately reminded me of a…read morebeloved high-end grocer back home--something along the lines of Draeger's: beautifully curated, family-owned, and designed to feel like a destination rather than just a place to shop. There's a real sense of history here. From what I understand, Reid's is one of the oldest grocers in Charlotte, and that legacy shows in the details. The rich green tile, classic signage, and thoughtfully designed layout create an elevated, almost European-style market experience. It feels polished, intentional, and welcoming all at once. What stands out: * The store is beautifully merchandised and carefully curated with specialty and seasonal items you don't always find elsewhere. * The wine bar and café concept make this more than a grocery stop--it's a place to linger. I've enjoyed flights, tastings, and brunch on the patio, and each visit has felt like a small occasion. * Location-wise, it really depends on which store you're visiting. The SouthPark and Myers Park locations have easy, convenient parking, and there's also a newer location in Ballantyne (near Pineville). The Uptown locations, while not necessarily "easy parking," are incredibly walkable--perfect if you live, work, or have meetings nearby. If you're already Uptown, this is a fantastic stop to pick up elevated items for a beautiful dinner--think wine, specialty cheeses, or even something indulgent like caviar to round things out. One thing I appreciate is that Reid's doesn't try to be everything to everyone. It's not an organic-focused market like Whole Foods, and that's okay--it serves a different purpose. The clientele here tends to be people looking for specialty ingredients, elevated prepared foods, and a more curated shopping experience. Many shoppers probably visit both stores depending on their needs, and I find myself doing the same. When Reid's really shines: During the holidays and special seasons. Their selection of unique, festive, and hard-to-find items makes it a go-to for entertaining or finding something a little extra special. Overall, Reid's feels like a true Charlotte institution--elegant, distinctive, and consistently well executed. It's the kind of place that makes grocery shopping feel enjoyable again, and I'm looking forward to continuing to explore more of what they offer as I keep eating my way through Charlotte. Bottom line: A beautifully curated local market with history, charm, and a destination-worthy wine bar--perfect for specialty shopping, brunch, and seasonal finds.

Only downside is the noodles are not the bigger/thicker. Service is fast. You line up and they serve you. It's a quick to go spot. Ambiance is chill. Note: food is pricey for lunch Will have to stop by here some other time.
