As per the Victorian Square website:…read more "VICTORIAN SQUARE has been at the heart of Lexington's downtown since the 1880's. The block of sixteen buildings has housed, among other things, saloons, hotels, restaurants and an opera house. In 1985 a modern renovation brought them all together under one roof, creating an airy and accessible space that is best observed from the central courtyard. The decorative metal ceilings, ironwork and exterior balconies from these establishments have been preserved wherever possible. The result is a perfect blend of historical architecture and modern comfort that is listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings." *Except* Yeah, it is pretty and very Victorian in style, I will give it that. But it was as dead and uninteresting as a tomb when we were there around lunchtime on a Wednesday. Even the Cosi sandwich shop was closed! There are three floors, and while the attempt had been made to be open and airy inside, the result was still dim and cold. The first floor had some shops, including an art gallery and a ladies' accessory shop, but as you went higher, the more empty spaces prevailed. The second floor had a Kentucky gift store (which was pretty lame) and then the rest was devoted to some kind of kid themed activity center or a day care. We didn't even bother with the third floor. People of Lexington - you might want to consider revamping this space in some way if you are going to keep listing it in your tourist pamphlets and brochures. I am glad we didn't make a special trip here because it was pretty disappointing.

I love Tunies (local boutique), Joseph Beth (bookstore), and Total Wine. Logan's of Louisville is another great local boutqiue specializing in upscale mens selections, but you can catch a great sale if you're lucky! Great venue for oustanding customer service all around.

I pretty much want to say exactly what Heather P. said in her review for this place…read more Lexington Green Mall is located near Fayette Mall (incredibly close, actually), and is filled with higher-end stores that you won't find in Fayette. Stores like Anthropologie, lululemon athletica, White House | Black Market, francesca's, etc. It's small, though, so the store selection isn't extensive. There's also two restaurants -- the Brontë Bistro in the bookstore, and Palmers, which, from my wanderings, looked like it was also kind of connected to the lower level of the bookstore. On another note, the scenery is kind of lovely here. There's a pond with ducks in the back of the shopping center that provides a calming retreat from shopping. Palmers' patio is next to the pond, as well. The front of the mall is also very pleasing, with many places to sit and eat/read/chat/write/whatever. Not a bad outdoor mall, but I'll probably only return just for Whole Foods and Joseph Beth Bookstore (which is amazing, by the way).

My husband and I drove down from Cincinnati on a Saturday for Lexington Comic Con - and we had no trouble finding nearby (FREE) street parking! We got into the check-in line around noon - which stretched up and down the main, concrete stairs. Despite the long queue, we never stopped moving, which made it seem like we weren't waiting as long as we did (just under 40 minutes). The interior is laid out well - with signage throughout. The convention itself was distributed among the three floors, with photo opps and autographs on the first floor, panels on the second floor, and shopping on the third floor. The food court is a bit of a walk from the main floors, but it's easy to find, and had plenty of options and seating available. Despite all of the space to spread out - much of this convention felt crowded. That wasn't an issue for us, since we were expecting as much, but just something to keep in mind if you're still easing back in to events with large amounts of people. I also want to note this venue's commitment to sustainability. Waste receptacles throughout Central Bank Center are made of recycled milk cartons (which is denoted by little stickers). I would definitely return to Central Bank Center and/or Rupp Arena the next time they're hosting LexCon (or another cool convention!)

The layout is a bit different, with multiple floors and a large room for each floor. A lot of the building still seemed to be under construction, but everywhere was pretty accessible and was in nice condition. The outside of the center is beautiful... large fountains and a park space nearby...we loved it! There is also a big, outdoor parking lot by the door that makes for easy parking. It's a great place for any big events happening in Lexington!
