I had been a fan of Something Vintage for many, many years, drawn to their unique inventory of bright colors, patterns, and textures. If I had a million dollars to spend on a wedding, it would all go to Something Vintage. Unfortunately, with our wedding being out of state and on a more reasonable budget, we decided that we'd splurge for one thing: napkins. But not just one kind of napkin. A different print for each of our reception tables, which would also each be adorned with a different tablecloth and centerpiece. These were a pivotal piece of decor to bring the room together. Something Vintage made linen rentals smooth and fun for our wedding. The wishlist function on the website allows for easy and clear order creation and invoicing. We also got a linen "tasting" so we could look at our selections at home before committing to the order. So handy! We are local and weren't getting any large pieces, so we chose the pick-up option and the staff at the warehouse were quick and helpful. The linens were clean, and came flat-packed a pre-pressed for easy setup. Not only are Something Vintage's linens beautiful, unique, and high quality, but their customer service is top-notch. We had a bit of a scare regarding the color and number of linens we picked up and they got right on fixing the issue and making us feel at ease. They might just say this to all the couples, but the event coordinator at our venue said the place settings were some of the best she'd ever worked with. Much credit goes to Something Vintage for their excellent inventory and their commitment to customer service. I used Something Vintage to rent some gorgeous upholstered sofas for my backyard garden wedding this fall. They were the perfect touch, and made excellent backdrops for selfies. We recently got married at Eastern Market and wanted to capitalize on a vintage feel to compliment the farmers market. My caterer and I started searching for farm tables and came across Something Vintage. Like a couple of the earlier reviews, they can improve on their communication with clients, especially initial inquiries. We had a hard time finally nailing things down. Early in the process, my caterer had most of the interfaces with them. During the month leading up to the wedding, Dawn and her staff were procuring several things for us to add finishing touches. We had a a lot of communication once it was "go time" and were able to make modest adjustments to our order based on the final headcount. I thought their prices were really good, if not cost saving since you wouldn't dare cover those beautiful tables with rented linens! Everything we used was so perfect for the look and feel we wanted. We rented farm tables (they have 2 kinds - refinished barn wood and whitewashed), a buffet (we used as a bar), vintage bar, zinc tables, and really nice wood folding chairs (for the outdoor ceremony). I could have done so much more with them - they have really cute props (suitcases, lamps, chandeliers), a sette, and gorgeous china. BUT I had to draw the line somewhere. All of the items we used created such great visuals and textures for the reception. Drop off and pick up went smoothly (according to my day of coordinator). So while there was some frustration making initial contact, I could not have imagined my wedding without the amazing rentals from Something Vintage. I want them to come decorate my house with all of their inventory! Too bad one of those farm tables didn't get left behind! read more

I rented a few small items for my wedding, including some bottles, chalkboards, and suitcases. The items were beautiful! The company was flexible about my pickup and drop off time also, which was helpful. My biggest issue was my challenges in communicating with Dawn- she often took weeks to reply to my emails, including taking 3 weeks to reply to my initial emails to establish my items of interest/answer questions and 2 weeks to send my proposal after I told her I was interested. I'm sure this is indicative of all her business, but I also wonder if it was because I made a small rental. It was very stressful during the wedding planning process because I had to make time-sensitive decisions on what decor to buy based on what I could or could not rent. read more

Not only does Something Vintage Rentals have a great inventory of vintage wedding and party rentals, they also have amazing customer service. Dawn went above and beyond and personally drove rentals to our event site (2 hours away) when we were in a pinch. She also assisted in setup of the rentals, which was a huge help! Dawn and Lauren at Something Vintage are amazing! They are very responsive and suggested items to help our vision come to life. We had a vintage book themed wedding and rented several items including a card catalog, vintage books, a trunk, the Library table and the gorgeous Merlot sofa. The delivery crew showed up early and everything was set up perfectly. SV is constantly adding new things to their inventory, and because I was unable to stay off of their website, I added a few things throughout the process. Something Vintage is as good as they come for getting your wedding vibe right. My wife had a very specific aesthetic in mind for our big day and Dawn and her team were absolutely on point for helping us pull it all together. For one, they made me feel like a part of the process, which is crucial for a guy along for the ride. Do I really care what chairs we have for our dinner? No. Does my (now) wife? You bet. The fact that the SV team put some of the decor decisions in plain english really helped me offer an opinion without looking like an idiot or having to call off my wedding. When the day came, everything was buttoned up and ready to rock. We were able to focus on getting family and friends settled in and I had ample time to shake my hangover while all of the setup and placement was rolling smoothly in the background. Ashley, who coordinated the process knocked it out of the park, so I didn't have to be involved. The team was quick, efficient, and communicative. I'm certainly hoping I don't have to go through this whole "getting married" thing again, but if I do, Something Vintage is number one on my list. read more

I hosted a tea party themed bridal shower in August and used Something Vintage Rentals. I could not have had a better experience with Dawn. She was professional, nice and really passionate about her business. Her China is exquisite, I could have spent hours just admiring the details in the cups, saucers, dessert trays and even silverware. She delivered the China in a timely fashion and provided all of the necessary packaging to make the pickup just as quick. A must-use for any event, especially a tea party or wedding. read more

I agree with the previous reviewer about communication. Their stuff is amazing, but getting Dawn or her staff to respond to calls or emails in a timely manner is challenging. Initially I had a big order for my wedding, which I had to scale back when we changed venues. At first I was so bummed, but now I'm kind of relieved because Dawn has been MIA for a month. I'm sure it will all work out, and I'm sure it is indeed indicative of the high level of demand for their services, but it creates a lot of unwelcome stress in the mean time! read more

Dawn from Something Vintage organized a wonderful and unforgettable baby shower for us with a French country-style theme, which was very appropriate for our French-American baby. She created a magical scene in a park just steps away from our house, by using both materials she found on site and her furniture (tables, couch, chairs, benches) and china. And of course lots of fun decorative items matching the theme and colors (gray, orange, trees and birds) that we had picked for our baby's room. Each little detail was well thought out. Our guests and us had a really great time and Dawn was amazing! I've also been lucky to attend other events (including a great Christmas party) organized by Dawn and they were all of the same very high level. I could not recommend Dawn enough. She has great taste, tons of unique ideas and is very efficient. She's a gem! read more
