Great spot with lots of hidden gems! Extensive curation and got beautiful McKenzie Childs painted ceramic nobs (owner had an even bigger assortment than those displayed) and a beautiful crystal / candle chandelier I've been on the hunt for for years. Highly recommend! read more

We also sold items to Janice who was so kind and made our experience fantastic. We spent time exploring the huge variety of great treasures from every time period. My son and I were killing time waiting for a YELP event to start at a place down the road when we ventured in to Somewhere In Time. I'm a big fan of carnival glass, which is pressed glass, always with a pattern and always with a shiny, metallic, 'iridescent' surface shimmer. This place has tons of it for different sellers. The gentleman working that evening was very polite. Easy to manuever around, Somewhere In Time has loads of memorabilia and nostagic "stuff". It was fun to look at it all and a great way to spend some time and perhaps in the future, spend some money too! read more

When bored and nostalgic this is a place to wander around in. Located in Midtown, this is probably the largest antique and collectible store in the area. Parking is easy in their small lit, on the street, or across the street in the larger lot. The store itself is very packed with various consignment booths. You really need to wander around combing each booth- you'll never know what you'll find. So don't be in a hurry and just take your time. Like one of our many cold, snowy, or rainy days we have had this winter is the perfect time to reminisce. read more

I was shopping here and was surprised to find a variety of racist signs for sale. When I asked the man at the register why they sold racist material he replied, "Because it's history." I see. Perhaps you can find some items from the Holocaust to add to this wall, it is history too, and you could make a buck off that as well. I can't find any good reason to shop here again. read more

Fairly large store in Reno. I stopped in on the way through town. Like several other reviewers, there was some interesting conversation going on at the front counter, but while being carried on in a normal tone and easily audible throughout the store, the topics were innocuous and it didn't bother me as it has some others. Many items are in cases, and you'll need to round up an employee to check out those items more closely. I got lucky and one of the sellers/vendors and I got to talking, he travelled the store with us and helped us with many items. He was a zippo and lighter collector, and we had some great conversation as we shopped. I ended up buying a 1950s zippo to go with my vintage camping gear, simply because I hadn't seen one that early before. He also helped us with other items we'd come into the store looking for. The store is easy to get around, and on one level, and most aisles are wide enough to be accessible to just about everyone. It's worth stopping if you're in the area. read more

If I could leave a lower rating I would, and let me tell you why...Never in any of the years of my life have I been to an antique store with such rude workers. If you have that bad of an attitude then maybe you should work in the funeral business so you don't have to speak to people. read more

Took some items in to see if they were interested in purchasing any of them prior to a move I was making. They took their time going through the items to sort out what they wanted, and offered me what I feel was a fair price. They were so nice to deal with and I wouldn't hesitate to return if I come up with any additional items. read more

I came here on a couple of previous trips and it was ok. But today's visit showed that things had changed. 3 men were at and behind the counter discussing topics such as cultures in the country had become too mixed and should be separated and California should be dropped into the ocean (Hey that's where I'm from). The main spokesman was a bearded guy talks non-stop and claimed "governors and many liberals" agree with him(sound familiar? ). The type that runs folks out of a party. He and the seemingly higher prices ran my wife and I out in less than 5 minutes. The picture on this review page sums this place up. I'm sorry the store across the street closed down .I certainly hope that this place does. I'm a retired teacher (Social Sciences) and I love antiques but if buy or sell them go to Junkee or some other. Don't waste your time here. I know I won't. read more

What a hot spot for collectors. I collect odd and obscure among other things and have found some great items here. A very knowledgeable young lady behind the counter named April was very helpful and experienced in antiques. I visit this place once a week and always see new items. If you are shopping for a snotty attitude, go no further than Somewhere in Time Antiques in Reno. My friend and I were considering buying an inexpensive mirror, and I asked politely about wrapping. The entitled woman at the front desk decided that my question was completely out of line, suddenly developed an attitude, and became extremely rude. All I was doing was asking a question. Rudeness was completely unnecessary. There are too many antique stores in the same area. I won't waste my time going in this one again. read more

The store overall has some really great antiques, but the people at the front were extremely rude. I walked in and asked if I could keep my backpack at their register, which is something most antique stores prefer to prevent theft. They looked at me in disgust as if I wasn't supposed to be there and then hesitated before saying yes. They then proceeded to stare me down for a solid few minutes. Other than being treated as a burden, there was a very nice lady with a large antique lamp collection that was eager to share the history behind it. Her great customer service and the interesting antiques here is the only reason this place gets two stars. read more

This is the BEST Antique Mall that I have ever been to. They have everything! Phil, Larry, Nona and Greg are all so helpful and they all really know their stuff. Get little hole in the wall. Yes, It is kinda hiden in the middle of other stores. But some how my mom and I came acrossed this place over the summer of 2012. There is a room in their just for dress up (not really) but every womens dream to play dress up. My mom and I did just that.... OMG, sooo many hats and boas. I've spent a good chunk of change here over the years but after my last visit I felt like it was time for a review. The store itself has some goodies for everybody; a bit too much of bar/alcohol and tobacco stuff. That said I have had multiple experiences where the staff reeks of booze. Almost every male staff member I have encountered refused to help in any fashion and their attitude is absolutely garbage. They make snarky comments if you spend less than $100 and don't even bother negotiating prices because they'll just accuse you of trying to rip them off. However, there is one female employee who is great (I wish I knew her name) and is the main reason why I have come back over the years. She is willing to help anybody find anything and she will casually negotiate fair, antique store prices. If I didn't know better I'd say she runs the show. Hire some better customer service and I'll be back. read more

Simple facts: At this store you will find competitive prices, Polite knowledgeable staff that converses openly, clean store, well cared for inventory, easy parking, many deals and discounts. You will also find a large selection of jewelry, accessories, dishes and China, art, tools, millitaria /war memorabilia, milk glass and bottles/ container collections, vintage and antique kitchen items, and much more. Be sure to make a couple passes around the store so you don't miss anything. The staff remembering my wife and I,after 1 visit and no real note able encounter, shows me the people who run this store are passionate about what they do and passionate about customer service. This is a medium sized antique mall, across the street from the Virginia street Antique mall. They have variety, from paper and bottles, to Jadeite. They also had a TON of Vaseline? Glass, the most I ever have seen. The customer service is okay, one person at the front counter was not as friendly, but the others were friendly. I got a really great deal on old photographs. Make this a must stop if you are in Reno! read more

I walked into this antique store today and was not even greeted by the man at the front desk. I found an old wooden photo frame that was listed for $15.00 which was a good deal. The only trouble with the frame was that it was bent and did not sit properly. It needed to be taken apart and re-done to be put in working order. The frame was not usable in the condition in which it was being sold. I was carrying the frame around and a lady asked if she could take it to the front desk while I continued to shop. I then asked her very politely if she was willing to come down just a bit because of the necessary repairs. She stated with an annoying authoritative tone that $15.00 was a great price. I told her that the frame was not in working order. The sides were twisted and bent and it had to be repaired. She did not even listen to what I was saying. I then told her that I wasn't expecting anything but maybe a couple of dollars off, which would have resulted in about a 10% discount. Her exact response was "Well I guess I am just being a bitch today". Isn't that wonderful? How extremely rude and unprofessional to use profanity in a business or anywhere for that matter. It is unbelievable that people like this think they can treat others in this manner! I actually buy and sell antiques here in Reno, Sacramento, San Francisco and even as far as LA. I always am willing to negotiate with my clients. I also do much business through ebay as well.. I know many people. I won't hesitate to make it a point to share my experience with my clients, friends, and professional contacts. Word of mouth is very powerful. My opinion would be to avoid this business. There are many other wonderful antique shops in Reno / Sparks where you are actually treated like a human being. read more
