But this time, when I came back like 10+ years later in search for an afternoon Easter mass, that same church was locked and some of the stained glass windows were broken :( As my journey for an Easter mass unfolds, I eventually find another church behind the original church and that's the new Our Lady of Guadalupe! :D The new church is really nice and as spacious as the old one. I like how white it is on the outside and pristine it is on the inside. Over time this has been getting smaller and smaller with only 3-4 food vendors but only 2 actually selling food while the others sell sweets. The sheer amount of culture here is amazing. The Ventura swap meet is just like this only with more "swap meet stuff. like tools and old stuff like remotes and cables for different appliances and computers. I have never seen Birds for sale at a swap meet before, Cockatiel's, finches and love birds. Oxnard has all new stuff; from food, to dresses, household supplies and shoes. The crowd was ridiculous, the sub culture here was amazing and the social aspect of the Latino community was very well represented on all fronts. I think i will need to brush up on my Rosetta stone before i return.
