I registered my 5 year old daughter to this dance school in Sept. 2012. She attended two classes each week: Ballet and Acro. In February of 2013, the classes began learning their routines for the year end recital. On April 23, after 8 months of classes and 3 months of preparation for the recital, I was informed via a voice mail that my 5 year old was no longer welcome as she had not been participating in the class and had not learned the recital routines. No options (such as extra help or classes) were offered. No warning was given (no direct conversation with the dance teachers at any point) Nothing. I called and asked about the situation and when asked why no options for extra help was offered, was told "we don't do that, we don't have time". When I asked why, if there was an issue with her participation, had it not been addressed earlier to which they responded "the teachers were giving her time". Three months with a child struggling is not acceptable and the teachers should have informed me well before they felt the only course of action was dismissal. I wrote a letter expressing my concerns; not only for my daughters disappointment at not being able to perform in the recital, but the unprofessional and flippant manor in which I was treated as a customer. There was no response.
If you have a child thinking of taking dancing in Bolton, I would not recommend Sondra Tri-dance. They do not seem to offer the kind of nurturing environment one would expect for young children nor the professional attitude a parent would expect of an organization dealing with them and their children. read more
