Immediately upon meeting Sonia, I was greeted with a warm smile. When we started to talk about why I was there seeking vocal coaching, I knew that she understood what I was talking about. Singers understand other singers. And Sonia immediately went to work putting together a session crafted to my purpose. This is the first time I have taken multi-session vocal coaching - it always seemed like such a luxury for someone who doesn't make a living with their voice. But now I see this as important as going for a checkup. Sonia is well-versed not only in the gigging life, but in the physicality of singing. Everything is connected, and Sonia does a great job of explaining how the mechanics of singing can be affected by a stretch here or a vocal warmup there. Sonia is an amazing singing teacher. She's shown me how to sing notes that I never knew how to sing through her in depth knowledge of the human body and how it makes sounds. She also taught me some breathing techniques that helped me singing, and is able to trouble shoot what the issue is for certain notes. In addition- she is so kind and funny. She makes me laugh when singing which is great for the lungs. I'll definitely continue to work with Sonia while recording my future album :) read more
