Seriously though Third Story has dished out 30 years of recording excellence and has worked with some of the best. Aside from the Milkmen they have worked with King Britt, Tori Amos, Ruder Than You, Chuck Berry, and an endless list of others. Most recently they helped do mastering work for my friends Bloody Wall Of Gore, and Seizure 17. Both bands have stood by the work that Third Story did. they really do a good job of picking up on every nuance of a song and making the sound just right. They also work with both analog and digital recording. they have a fully automated Pro Tools, and two 24 track 2" analogue tape machines on hand in their studio. so they really offer the best of both worlds.

I'd called before leaving to ensure the guitar was still there. When I got there, it was wrapped up and being prepped for shipment. I didn't even have time to look shocked. He said, "Don't worry. I'm going to take care of you." And he did. Far better than I could have imagined, offering a far better guitar at the same price. I'm still shocked to this day that he was so incredibly honest and professional. I still have the Guild and it is by far the best guitar I've ever owned. Thanks, Rocky!

Not Only that, But it has an incredible recording studio/practice space downstairs. It offers some of the most reasonable prices in town, and is a damn good place for any band who is looking to work on a demo to go. If that's not enough, South Street Sounds puts on a local music showcase called Buddhafest. it goes on every other month at Tritone and showcases at least 12 diverse acts in one day. the next one is August 18th.

Located in Philly's fashion district, the large space has room for filming, recording, photography, podcasts, and even live performances. As amazing as the location, I think the true value is in the sense of community among other creatives. The membership's credit system makes using various studios and equipment super simple. Sly, was an amazing tour guide and gave so much insight and REC Philly's back story, I was already sold but it was great to hear his passion and commitment. I love the hours of 10am to 10pm to accommodate schedules and that members have exclusive access to courses and events. Still not sold, schedule a tour of the facility and purchase, William Tyrone Toms' (REC Philly's co-owner), (UN)common Sense, it's a great blue print for those looking to get paid while having creative freedom.
