I was told someone in office knows her so but that shouldn't have her protected. I did call about the child but nothing happened good enough to stop her from fighting a child almost 2 months later. If the students can see a problem I believe the adults should be able to. Disappointed, please do better Folks Middle School.

I've given this school it's fair share of a break but so much has gone down within these past…read moremonths that I need to talk about, being that there's only about 5 months left of school and my final year here. For the most part, there hasn't been too many fights recently or any that lasted. But I want to talk about the teachers. At least 2 of my teachers are picky about the noise in the classroom. They either dislike when it's too quiet or tell us to speak more. This has been bothering me a ton, because when people don't stop talking the teacher will get upset but when they ask for feedback and no one responds except for a shake of the head they go crazy. When it's the same kid volunteering to answer questions the teachers get upset and ask for someone else. Not everyone wants to speak up, afraid of getting the answer wrong or just generally don't want to. The teachers can't seem to understand what's going on through kids heads on a day to day basis, learning is important but understanding your students is too. Now the coaches. Just yesterday me and my friend were leaving the locker room to get to class a minute or two before the bell rang, no big deal really. We were stopped by one of the male coaches and he told us to put our bags down and run across the gym or he'd write us up for "skipping" when class was completely over by now. This was baffling to me because we weren't skipping anything and we weren't trying to be sneaky about it either. The coaches make everything too much of a big deal. For our grades, they usually put a 95 for every "assignment" in the class as a participation grade. We played mat ball one day and the ball didn't even come to me once and I barely got play time. I received a 70 for not participating which dropped my grade down by over 10 points. This is the most stupid format for grading ever because if someone else is grabbing the ball before me I can't just take it from them and throw it. My science teacher is always complaining about my class because we don't answer questions and we're an advanced class, if she hears a little bit of chatter she counts seconds for us to stay after the bell rings and is always giving out warnings to kids who aren't doing much of anything to earn them. Back to the ID's from before. They are useless. We don't use them at all unless we want to go to games for sports, no one checks them and people have lost there's without a care in the world for it. Everyone in this school has been stooped down to a lower level because of these teachers and staff and it's not going to help anyone with a successful future. Instead of teaching us about scale factor in math -which I'm not sure I'll ever use in my life- we could get an early introduction into finances and how to pay for important things that we will need in our every day life ahead. The teacher's don't care about kids problems and one of mine is always telling us we need to learn how to be independent but all she ever talks about is how proud she is of herself and her kids. Thanks for the information I guess?? This school does not deserve to think of calling itself "The Best Middle School in Texas" because who are y'all trying to fool? I'm done with this buffoonery and denial. FMS #1 Exposer - r.b

"Excuse me Merryweather but can you pass the Grey Poupon?"…read more Listen up Stone Oak and Alamo Heights. Comm Arts ranks 17th in Newsweek's 2009 poll of top 1500 public high schools in the nation. Look it up Poindexter! The only other local school to crack the top 100 was International School of the Americas at 92. Great job guys, now get your parents to brag about you. My understanding is that the basis of the poll is AP courses and exams as well as graduation rate and college enrollment. Now I'd like to think they actually base it on the charm, charisma and exceedingly good looks of the students' fathers but I digress. What do you expect when they allow you to roam the grounds with cameras and video cameras and have lunch in the quad like regular adults in college? It kind of makes you feel like a grown up. Can any of us say we were treated like grown ups in high school? I was still getting spanked as a junior to avoid detention on Saturday mornings all because of a few extra tardies! Hey those cigarettes weren't gonna smoke themselves. As parents if your kid is showing some maturity and promise in middle school it would be wise to check out the magnet schools for the high school level. The renewed interest could go a long way towards moving on to the college level. Oh, and by the way Stone Oak and Alamo Heights guy. Don't sweat it. You're like the Camp Northstar crew and all of the chicks will always go out with your boys 'cause they got all the money.

With all my timing there I was very impressed and more than anything thankful. If you have any kids that need to go to school make sure they come here. Northside is a very good district however it is a bit tough to get the best services with them but at least give them a chance to tell you what they can help you with and everything. With me being autistic I was given the advantage to do sports and try different things that most people aren't able to do or try. Whenever I graduated from here at this district I can't be more thankful and more proud of what I've accomplished since Day 1 from coming here. Now that I see my little brother graduating here in 2025, makes me more happy because I know he'll do great in life and everything. I'm just curious to see how it ends for him and all those that apart of Northside. Northside was definitely the best I've been apart of. I can't be more happier and thankful than I already am. I'm a graduate from 2022 that went to Harlan . Thanks again Northside and I can't wait to see everyone especially my brother graduate here.

Im a single mom and this was a new STEM school I wanted my kid to have a better education, BIG MISTAKE!!! The school has Stranger walking around "fixing the school" but you can't walk YOUR KID to class before 730. You can only leave them at the door and hope they wall straight to class. the girls bathroom put their tissues lon the dirty floor and expects the girls to wipe with it. The teachers are always on their phones never paying attention to the children outside. My son was bullied by MULTIPLE STUDENT in his class and in their after school care (they allow all ages together and put them in a room until 630) one girl put my daughter finger in a pencil sharpener and cut her hand the teacher said NOTHING until I got there and she didn't clean it or put a bandaid on it. I brought up the incidents to the teachers and principal I was told we couldn't switch classes and slowly after that my children became targets. Every time my son tried to tell on the student (they pulled his hair called him names pushed him down) HE WAS PUNISHED; they made him move his clip and even put him in ISS even took his jacket on one of the coldest days in San Antonio (even tho other students were allowed to wear their jackets due to the weather). Their iss is CREAPY (He had to sit ALONE in the male principals office all day in the back of the school just him and this random man, mind you this is a new school we haven't known any of these teacher previously) that made me EXTREMELY uncomfortable, it felt like the principal was looking to put my son in iss for anything now, at our other school he was a star student; straight As NEVER been in trouble; thats why I wanted to challenge him with a STEM school but safe to say we're going back to our previous school and I'll be contacting the school board about this HORRIBLE schools practice.
