The first spot I went to (closer to i-85) was closing and with limited peach supply. The kind lady at this site called over to their other location to make sure the ladies there waited for me. Everyone was super nice. Food - I got 2 pecks of peaches (or 1/2 bushel), a jar of jam, and a huge cup of peach ice cream (which...btw was awesome) for about $29. This was a pretty good deal as the next day when I visited the Farmers Market in Davidson they were charging $9 for a 1/2 peck. Plus, the peaches from Lemmons were larger and better in appearance. Overall - I got some really tasty peaches that were used for some even better peach cobbler. This is my location for peaches...it should be yours too! PS: They take credit cards here if your total order is sufficient in price (i.e. over $10).

So many peaches!…read more There are two locations once you get off the exit, a small shed with a limited variety of options (cash only) and the larger store (underneath the RUGS billboard) on the other side. We started at the smaller, but I didn't have enough cash to buy what I wanted, so they directed us across 85. The larger space is still somewhat open-garage feel. They have fresh peaches in a variety of sized containers (bushels/baskets/etc), ciders, jellies, jams, vinegars, the list go on and on. Then, you can go inside where they sell their homemade peach ice cream alongside Hersheys brand ice cream. We ordered a small peach ice cream and it was at least three scoops - plenty to share! Also inside are some small trinkets, snacks, and shelves and shelves of canned goods, most made by Lemmons. Pickled everything, butters, chow chows, more jellies and jams, marmalades, it was ridiculous. They also had a limited menu for a few made to order sandwiches and sides. I believe the minimum for credit cards was $10. We left with some peaches, a jug of peach cider, moonshine pickles (haven't tried yet), hot chow chow (not terribly hot, but tasty), and some peach butter. Everyone was very friendly and when I'm passing through again I'm sure I'll stop by.

Fresh peach sold by the pound and 2 scoops of homemade peach ice cream. Delicious!

Amazingly, they have employed some really helpful and courteous people. The hourly paid store associates get five stars from me. I'd be hard pressed to give two stars to their superiors! The one outstanding and redeeming quality about Ingles is their wonderful sub sandwiches. They use Boar's Head meats. They save the day for Ingles! This stuff is far and beyond better than the meats used at nationally recognizable sub restaurants. It's better than good; it's unreal! My food was surprisingly great. We started with the wings and they were great! My salad was great and my steak was seasoned and cooked great. Overall our service was great but they did struggle getting me a soda water. I blame the bar as I guess that is the only place she could get the soda water from and I assume she was busy at the bar... regardless the food was good, the bread was great and overall just a really good experience. 2.9 is a slap in the face to this restaurant and it should be closer to its Google rating. Zero stars. Please save yourself the time of a terrible meal. I live right down the road and this is one of the many options my family and I would choose to go to. Never again after this last visit. Almost every time they either mess up the order or forget an item or both, like this time. They had hardly nothing we asked for and the food they did, especially one of our burgers was reheated and terrible. Specifically asked for no onions on two burgers got them on both. As well as paying for ched'r'poppers they didn't even give me. Even the shake I ordered was incredibly terrible with bits and pieces of unrecognizable items coming through the straw. The meal and everything with it was hardly edible. The only thing they got right was the drinks. I highly recommend against this establishment. No wonder it's already a 3 star. Which after posting this I saw out dropped down to a 2 (hence this edit). Even gas station food has higher standards and is better than this crap. read more

So I pulled into the Cracker Barrel in Gaffney, South Carolina, already halfway prepared to be disappointed and planning my "I told you so" speech for the ride home. We were met at the door by a smiling host who sat us quicker than you can say "y'all come back now." Ann, our waitress, was at the table before I even had the menu open. She grabbed our water and coffee order and took off like she had somewhere to be, which, as it turned out, was right back at our table. We both ordered breakfast, because there are some things in life you don't overthink. Now, I dearly love country fried steak. Somewhere in the Good Book there's probably a footnote that says it's acceptable for breakfast, lunch, and supper. I was already feeling pretty good about my decision when Ann reappeared, unannounced, with a plate of hot biscuits and apple butter. No upcharge, no "would you like to add that for $3.99," just biscuits like God and Dan Evans intended. I have not had that happen in years. One bite of that apple butter and I was suddenly 20 years younger, back when Cracker Barrel was new and my cholesterol was lower and the world seemed a little less complicated. It tasted just like I remembered, which almost never happens anymore unless you're misremembering. The breakfast showed up just as I was savoring the last bite of that biscuit, and it was flat-out good. Everything was hot, everything was right, and everything was on time. No mystery substitutions, no cold eggs, no "we're out of that today." Maybe--just maybe--Cracker Barrel has remembered what made them famous in the first place: hot coffee, good food, and the kind of small kindness, like surprise biscuits and apple butter, that makes a road-weary traveler feel human again. On that morning in Gaffney, it felt like Cracker Barrel on a great day as it should be.
