This office refused to accommodate our son's separation anxiety. He is three years old. He was…read morecrying in the office for fear of being separated from his mother. The staff were prepared to take him from his mom and continue with the appointment. My wife requested to accompany him for the appointment and the staff refused. My wife chose not to send our son back alone and she was charged a $50 "cancellation fee." I am surprised by this dentist's inflexibility and failure to accommodate the needs of children. But I am truly shocked that he is choosing to penalize families for it. Our child will not be returning.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. The WORST first experience at a dentist I could imagine. Had I…read moreknown, I never would have brought my child here. Their policy is children 3 and under must be separated from their parents. I have no problem with this idea/my child has no problem with separation. When/if children become uncooperative they come out and reassure parents that the restraint are going to put your child in would not hurt and they get parents to sign a waiver. What they don't say is the deep emotional trauma that such a restraint and proceeding procedures cause. If children are getting to that point, and they don't allow parents to evaluate the situation for themselves, they clearly are not that good with children in the first place. My child was restrained and still (6 months later) has nightmares about being held down tight and who knows what else happened (I wasn't in there, after all, to know). Moving forward, I thought maybe my child would agree to the 6 month checkup. Dental care is important, right? Not interested at all as my child was terrified from the first dentist encounter. Started a melt down. Calling to cancel the appointment, I was told that we would be charged $50 for changing the appointment within 24 hours. Well, the only reason I wanted to cancel the appointment was due to the trauma/abuse my child received the first time so I asked if I could go back in with my child. I was told absolutely not. When I pressed the issue of the suspicion of abuse, I was told the doctor didn't want my child to be one of his patients after all. Good riddance. Stay away!

Awful office manager. This office bills incorrectly and they over charge. The appropriate phrase is…read morefraudulent billing. I have never been so disrespected by someone who truly feels that their title as office manager with blue hair and incredibly shitty attitude is above all else. You are a glorified assistant. I'm disgusted and truly wonder if this dentist and office has taken advantage of numerous patients. Disgusting. Be professional and at least LOOK professional.

MAH Horrible experience…read more I would like to preface this by stating that I have previously had a very positive opinion of Dr. Cohrs personally. I firmly believe his bedside manner, attention to detail, and dental work are truly impeccable, and I appreciated his clinical care during my previous visits over the years. During my most recent visit though, things had changed. I was told by the hygienist, Lyndi, that a panoramic X-ray was "required by law" to maintain their license, with implied risk if refused. No such Michigan law exists--regulations cover equipment safety only, not mandating patient imaging (per LARA-Licensing and Regulatory Affairs and Michigan Dental Association). My low-risk profile (excellent hygiene, no cavities in years, healthy gums, recent normal bitewings) showed no clinical need. ADA 2026 guidelines require panoramic only when necessary, to minimize radiation, not routinely. When I raised the issue feeling misled about Timberview losing their license, the hygienist called in the office manager who was beyond rude, defensive, interrupted repeatedly by obscuring and pivoting to "our standard of care," then asked my opinion of their standard. I said it felt revenue-driven rather than evidence-based. She immediately told me to leave. This was gaslighting: obscuring the obvious falsehood with vague "patient care standards" and punishing honest feedback with abrupt dismissal. Deceptive communication and unprofessional handling erode trust. Patients deserve transparency, not pressure and deflection. Unfortunately the unprofessional conduct of the office manager--particularly her repeated interruptions, twisting of the initial misleading statement, dismissive attitude, and abrupt decision to ask me to leave after I shared my honest opinion--has eroded my trust in the practice as a whole. Despite my high regard for Dr. Cohrs' skills and care, this experience will unfortunately prevent me from returning. Perhaps the business/name change to Timberview Dental has caused the business to now become profit driven over patient care driven. Be VERY careful about agreeing to unnecessary procedures that are lining their pockets.
