simply aweful . caused close to $10,000 worth of damage and refused to take any responsibility. power wash : used highly concentrated chemicals that killed plants , ruined an Elm tree , stripped the finish off a newly refinished door , ruined/ melted the ( very expensive) door brass fixtures , locks . BROKE a very expensive ( $6000 ... yes thousand ) window and fought , argued and refused to take any responsibility. this is a window we see open every day and it was fine before they came and broken after . We have been a satisfied Sonshine for seven years until this year; after our experience this year, we are terminating our business with Sonshine and recommend that others do so also or use another window-washing service. Not only was the one worker belligerent and inept but the front office failed to address our concerns about his workmanship and refusal to address our requests. The one worker who showed up at our home to wash our interior windows and Venetian blinds had an overbearing attitude that matched his unkempt appearance. I would never have permitted him in our home if my Husband had not been present given his belligerent, angry attitude to us at the onset. Instead of cleaning the open vertical blinds from top to bottom before washing our windows, he forcefully yanked the cords to raise the blinds to clean our windows. He then forcefully pulled our blinds down to clean the blinds; and them haphazardly cleaned the blinds in a hit-and-miss fashion. He banged the Venetian blinds so hard when he cleaned them with a dry dust brush that I asked him to be more gentle with them otherwise he would break the panels. When he only cleaned one side of the blinds and I requested that he clean both sides, he indignantly ignored me. He never even cleaned his brush from one window to the next! He irreparably broke a double window Venetian blind in one room and had his partner advise of his damage before he scurried away. Bottom line, the blinds were as dusty as before and we ended up cleaning the blinds ourselves after Sonshine left, despite paying for the blind cleaning. The same worker broke a kitchen light over our sink by angrily yanking it to clean a double window. The throw rugs we had in our two bathrooms were all jumbled and wet from his drudging through the rooms to clean our windows. He even got the comforter in our one bedroom wet when he washed the windows. The tiled entrance way to our home was a wreck when he finished, as was the composite wood deck to our front doorway. It was like an aggrieved manic went through our home. When the same worker went to put the dirty window screens in our windows without washing them, I was told it was not on our work order. He said he did not have time to wash our screens, despite having our screens washed in prior years with the same work order as this year. I immediately called Sunshine and requested that he be told to clean our window screens. The other worker cleaned our screens but not without a shouting match between the two men. I reiterate, I do not recommend Sonshine anymore! They no longer provide a professional service. I will never permit them in our home again. read more

I used Sonshine two years ago. I was not happy but did not express my dissatisfaction. I saw a worker in my neighbor during the summer 2018 and he suggested I give them another try. I did they did an EXCELLENT job on my windows and a good job on my gutters. I literally think I am out of doors when I look out my windows. Their truck did leave an oil stain on my driveway, which had just been resealed. I immediately contacted Sonshine. They came back out this morning cleaned and power washed my driveway and all is good. I would recommend Sonshine but proceed with caution. read more

I don't know the specifics of the negative reviews below, but I have been working with Sonshine for more than 10 years and I think they're terrific. I have a huge old house with wooden screen and storm inserts that have to be changed with the seasons. Dan and his crew know these wacky old-school windows better than I do at this point, coming back every spring and fall to swap out the sashes and clean the windows. I have used Sonshine Window Washing every fall for the last 10 years. I take advantage of their 20% pre pay service , which is great! They are professional, friendly and do a great job. They clean my ceiling fan and chandelier that are at least 15 feet up which I could never do on my own. My appointments are made on phone and they have always been prompt. I would highly recommend them, my go to for power washing and gutter cleaning also! read more

Firstly, I used Sonshine in the past and they were excellent. It depends on who you get. I wish I had kept the guys name who did my home the first time. He was awesome. The second crew completely forced one of my stuck windows and completely broke the seal. There is no way in heck a window should be completely hazy white, It was ok when they got here when they left it clouded over slightly and now it is an unsightly mess needing replacement. Someone from Sonshine came out and said "we didn't do it" Ok fine, I will never recommend them again as I had done in the past, I am a Realtor in a busy Monmouth County office. read more

do not use this window washing service in philadelphia. they damage window screens and do not come out to repair them. stay away from this crappy company and their poor customer service. we have large windows and our neighbor recommended them to us. we noticed that the large screen in our front window was damaged by them, and they refused to come out and repair it. stay away from them. john and stephanie are nightmares. read more

I should have heeded the warning of the previous reviewer and not dealt with this company which they said was not only totally unprofessional but dangerous to your property. But, because I had used them and their predecessor company for at least 15 years without incident, I felt confident in my choice. We again had them wash our windows---terrible mistake. After they had completed the job and departed, my wive discovered that one of the 2 workers had closed a bedroom window on an exceedingly expensive drape. On freeing it, she noted a black mark embedded in the material. She immediately notified the company and was reassured that that someone would call and come back with a special stain remover. Someone called a few days later and returned but all attempts to remove the stain were futile. We were then told that someone from the company would call us but this never happened so after 2 weeks we called and called and called to no avail. Finally 1 month after the original event, we received a letter saying Sonshine Window Company was gathering the details of "what had occurred". After another month without a response, I wrote a letter asking for payment to cover the damage to our curtain as well its dry cleaning.(which required professional removal of the drape, transporting it to the cleaning facility, returning it and re-hanging it, making it is exceedingly costly). Finally, almost two months after the original incident, I received a letter which in essence stated that the 2 window washers had checked our windows after completion of their job and found no enclosed drape(??) This of course was an outright lie and also implied that we had fabricated our story. They then accused my wife of not preparing for their visit(making sure drapes secured away from windows) which was further nonsense and finally their letter advised us to send them quotes from three different dry cleaning companies. How can one do business with such an unprofessional, irresponsible and yes, devious company....and I would strongly advise you not to!!! read more
