Call them at 2:30 for pump out, they arrived by 3 pm . Greeted the SOS guys, sat on the porch as they did their job. Did their job and left. Lady on phone said it would be $400.00and 4% on top of that if I used a debit card, which I did . Looked at the digital bill a few days later and it was $561.00. Called and it was only then explained that due to an overfill tank we were charged more. I explained that was never explained to us by the customer service representative I had spoken to. She said that " I don't know why they didn't explain that ( aka septic guys).... I can ask."she said. Well shouldn't the customer rep be the one explaining this when you call in and ask about the service. The septic guys are responsible for the septic pump out , not the cost charged to your debit card. Also someone should have called and said hey it's going to be more than I quoted you initially! When the septic backs up it does it with little warning and the consequences are most problematic, to say the least. We called S.O.S. Septic after our "regular" company was not able to get out for 4 or 5 days. That doesn't work when in this situation. Called S.O.S. and they were here in about 2 hours. I own a rental property that needed a pump service done. They had reasonable pricing and could do a same day service which was great but my experience was not 5 star worthy. Communication is a huge factor in working with a company for me as I live a few hours away - I need to be able to trust and confirm work was completed. Initially during scheduling, the woman I spoke with was generally neutral, but gave me an attitude that I hadn't called back immediately to provide my card information. This was easy to overlook until my follow up experience. I would've significantly appreciated knowing that the service was completed, especially having given my card over the phone prior to and not knowing whether or not someone actually showed up and did it. I got an on the way call which was great but no follow up - when I called to make sure the service was done, the after hours dispatcher couldn't give me any information, refused to find any information out, had an attitude and just told me he had another call coming in. He never even asked my name. Highly unprofessional especially for clientele that is not on site just trying to confirm work was done. I'm sure these guys are great, but my experience wasn't 5 stars - adequate and professional communication should be expected. read more

We had septic water back-flowing into our shower around dinner time on Labor Day with family in town. Guy on the phone was informative and answered all of our questions to help determine that it was indeed a full tank and not a drain line blockage. Corey came to pump our tank. He was friendly and fast despite being called out after hours on a holiday. From initial call to finish was about an hour. We were surprised that it was only $400, we feel like most companies would have increased the rate twice for being both after hours and a holiday. If I could give 10 stars I would! I called a total of 4 septic tank companies and I couldn't believe the difference between the way they treat their customers. SOS was so accommodating to my septic backup at a rental and dispatched a truck within an hour. On top of that, the service provider was CHIP and I cannot say enough positive about how professional and accommodating Chip was. On top of that he spoke so highly of his boss and the entire company which I believe says a lot about him and the company he works for as well. He explained what happened and how to prevent future problems. He spent more time than he probably should have to be certain everything was in good working order before he left. We've been in the house about 2 years, guest bathroom started acting up, wouldn't flush properly. Mind you, there were no back ups into the house or anything like that, just a slow running toilet. Not knowing when it was last pumped out we called SOS, they were recommended (not always the way to go, should have done my own research). They did the pumpout said there was something at the end of the pipe that may have caused problem. They cleared it and said it was good and the d-box may need replacing at some point but for now wait and see, sounded like they had it covered. The problem re-occurred a few weeks later, I went crazy trying to get the problem solved. One guy came out and said sewer was tipped back and water couldn't drain properly. It would require cutting up driveway, digging under house, cut existing line and running new one out to septic, to the tune of $6,500+ (and we're next in line for sewer hookup)!!!.Called SOS back, they come out and say septic level is fine but maybe a pumpout will help and since the service call was around $200 its only $100 more. I knew better but had them do it anyway, 2 pumpouts in 2 months!!! Finally called another outfit, they took the time to find the cleanout and determined the GREASE in the pipe was the problem and everything is good now and THEY ONLY CHARGED A SERVICE CALL OF $95!!! Yesterday (Sunday) evening we had a backup in our septic system. I read reviews about SOS and was happy to find that they are available 24/7 and are rated 4.8 on google. We were given a time for service, and our technician Marvin was an hour early, less than a 2 hour wait. He was extremely kind, competent, and knowledgeable. Our septic tank had never been serviced, and we have lived here for 16 years. I cannot speak highly enough of Marvin, and SOS Septic. Your company is only as good as your employees. 5 star in every category!! We really appreciated the upfront price, which didn't change even though our septic tank proved to be difficult. Don't expect cheap. Cheap always costs more in the long run. Their prices are fair and their work is excellent. We also appreciated the information for caring for our unit going forward. We've lived here for 16years and never had our septic pumped, we never felt the need. Everything worked perfectly. Then yesterday, just like that,everything just slowed down. I figured my luck had just run out. The SOS trucks seem to be everywhere so I gave them a call. They would have come right out on Sunday or I could wait until tomorrow. Nothing was backed up, yet, just slow. So I opted to wait one day. I was told not to use any unnecessary water, like no dishwasher, laundry or showers. First thing Monday morning Dennis showed up. He went right to the cover of the septic tank, like a magic trick. He's never been here but he figured out right where it would be. He was very careful not to break our cement curbing. The only evidence that he was here was the small area where the septic cover was. He explained in detail the reasons why we should have the septic tank pumped every 3 to 5 years and things we can do to maintain it.  We were lucky this time, we could have had company or it could have been a Holiday and rather than just slowing down it could have backed up into the house. Not being a believer in physic divination, or X-ray vision, we cancelled our job with them and called S.O.S. With seven trucks on the road every day, they can answer your needs the same day called.
