What was supposed to be a straightforward project turned into a chaotic and financially draining ordeal, primarily due to this contractor's complete lack of professionalism, skill, and ethics. From the very beginning, it became clear that she was not competent in managing even the most basic aspects of construction. She repeatedly demonstrated a poor understanding of local building codes and construction practices--something no licensed general contractor should be unfamiliar with. I frequently found myself double-checking decisions, only to discover that what was being done either didn't meet code or was completed with poor detail. Scheduling was another major issue. She routinely forgot to schedule required inspections, which led to delays and created serious problems with permits and approvals. On multiple occasions, she missed scheduled appointments without notice or explanation. These weren't one-off slip-ups--this was a pattern of irresponsibility. Financially, things went from bad to worse. She took money for work that was either never started or only half-finished, and then attempted to rewrite parts of the contract to remove work that had already been paid for. These weren't honest mistakes--they were calculated attempts to cut corners and extract more money. It felt like being scammed by someone who had no regard for their legal or ethical responsibilities. She placed a lien on my property for an amount that was grossly inflated and far beyond what was actually owed. This false claim forced me to retain legal counsel in order to get the lien removed and the amount corrected--yet another unnecessary cost and source of stress created by her mishandling of the project. What made matters even worse was the complete disregard for my property. During demolition, reusable fixtures and working appliances were recklessly damaged or destroyed--despite clear instructions to preserve them. It was as if there was no care taken to differentiate between trash and salvageable items. Speaking of trash, rather than properly disposing of demolition debris, she left piles of garbage and discarded materials right on my driveway, creating an eyesore and a hazard that I ended up having to deal with myself. The problems extended to her team as well. Multiple subcontractors expressed frustration and concern--some told me directly that they hadn't been paid or were avoiding further work with her due to ongoing issues. When a general contractor can't earn the trust of their own subs, you know something is deeply wrong. Summary of Issues: * Incompetent with building codes and inspections * Repeatedly missed or forgot key appointments * Dishonest with payments and contract changes * Placed a fraudulent lien on my property, requiring legal action to resolve * Destroyed reusable fixtures and damaged appliances * Left demolition debris on-site, cluttering my driveway * Subcontractors openly stated they couldn't trust or rely on her This was not just a case of a project gone sideways--this was a deeply unprofessional and unethical contractor who had no business taking on work of this nature. If you're considering hiring Fabienne Debaix, I urge you to think twice. Do your due diligence, ask for multiple references, and seriously consider another contractor. Save yourself the time, money, and stress.

Our kitchen remodel morphed into a full blown home renovation, with the help and guidance of Ariel…read more Not only are you getting a general contractor, but a designer as well. He was a great sounding board for all of my ideas and was able bring everything on paper to life in a quality fashion. If the concept was "doable", then he'd get it done. We appreciated the thought and precision with which he executed all phases of the renovation, as we were still living in our home during construction. He made it as painless as possible, thinking of our needs first. I did do a lot of legwork, picking out fixtures and hardware, but that was my choice. He has a full selection of materials at his office and has worked with most of the products out there, from low to high-end. We had lots of items on backorder due to high demand and COVID, but this did not deter him or his crew from getting work accomplished. He is timely, his crews are timely, and both are a pleasure be around. Yes, there was a mess here and there, but it's CONSTRUCTION! All in all, they were very tidy and cleaned up each day. An important factor with any working relationship, construction or otherwise, is communication. Ariel communicated and recapped progress and upcoming needs each and every day. He is extremely organized and his work ethic is impeccable. This translates to his teams of workers who have been with him for many years. I've read in other reviews that there were issues of miscommunication and work done that wasn't what the owner wanted, but I don't see how this is possible when you lay out exactly what you want, do your research, and ask questions appropriately as we did. Be clear with your vision, style, materials you like (and DONT like), and it will be a great experience. Again, this should be practiced in all aspects of business, not just construction! We can highly recommend FULL SERVICE and have already referred three other projects that have begun before ours was even finished! Please feel free to contact us for further reference or photos.
