Tantanmen had sesame oil flavors and the shoyu broth was very light but a bit bland for me so I added the extra sauces they had on the table. The noodles are made fresh in restaurant and they have a clear glass so you can see it being made if you're lucky. It was pretty cool watching one of the workers make it. The noodles definitely tasted great and was authentic. This ramen place is a bit on the pricier side and my friend said the prices were noticable raised but she loves this place so much, it didn't bother her. There are public bathrooms downstairs that they keep taken care of. As soon as you sit, they have clear separating glasses between tables which feels very sanitary, I love it. The ramen served is very aesthetic. I love the way they write their slogan on the nori. My favorite part is that they give you a bib to wear which was easy to put on. Both my friend and I definitely needed it because we both had soup spills on our bibs haha service was nice and they have wifi as well. This place seems to get packed very easily!

I was roaming the streets of Zurich and found this little gem tucked away in a larger alleyway and…read morestopped to take a photo. I read their "Spring Specials" Board and saw the Karotten Suppe and decided to sit for a spell and enjoy a bowl of one of my favorite soups. As the name suggests, Zoup - they sorta specialize in soups I suppose, (as well as other things I'm sure) with seasonal offerings/variations. I initially wanted carrot and ginger but I opted for the carrot-mango-orange variant. What's cool is that they offered to add some fresh ginger in as well. Win! Win!! In addition to my soup, I also ordered a Panache which is just a beer with a lime soda topper that's pretty refreshing. The staff was very courteous and helpful as well as linguistically patient with me as we both tried to communicate with one another. The ambiance is traditional Cafe European with a nice airy seating area to people watch without feeling like people are on top of you. So, if you are in Zurich and a soup person then this is the place for you.

Many specialties on the menu, I ordered: Tom Kha Gai: Thai soup with fresh chicken, mushrooms, baby corn, string beans and green bell pepper. This is non spicy Mulligatawny: Indian curry soup with fresh chicken and baked apples. Topped with dried saffron. Comes with vasnati rice. Comes with basmati rice. #1 Yelp rated Chinese restaurant in Lucerne -of course there is only 3 Chinese restaurants listed…read morein Yelp in this Swiss city. Place specializes in spicy hot noodle soups. However, it was in the 80s, and I wasn't about to eat soup on a hot day. Our CHF22 chicken dish came with spicy chili chicken, with ear mushrooms and rice. As in most Swiss restaurant, dish comes with rice, but only half a small bowl for the two of us. The chicken was fresh and fell off the bone, using a chopstick in each hand to peel off. Excellent dish, but could use more white rice. Seven steamed shrimp dumplings came with our CHF18 shrimp dumpling dish. Standard presentation in a steamed bamboo pot, with the shrimp tasty and not rubbery. Had to pay CHF4, or $4.28, for two glasses of tap water. Will remember next time to bring my own water to guzzle down prior to stepping into a restaurant in Switzerland. Authentic Chinese food served here. How do I know it's authentic? Any time they serve meat dishes with the bones still in them, in a sauce, it's authentic, as Americans don't want to mess around with bones in sauces. Also, only Chinese eating here.
