The staff and their taking care of their customers could not have been in any way better, attentive, quick to respond and serve. The food was a whole different experience. My wife & I ordered the beef Bibimbap for each of us. While the dish in itself was decent, the total rip off on the beef was surprising for a CHF40 dish. There were a few shreds of shaved beef hidden under a fried egg. This was the case in both servings, hence clearly not an error but a tourism rip off gig. While I had a cup of their rice wine, We also asked for 2 cups of tap water & were charged per cup of tap water. The lack of beef on a beef dish and the charging for tap eliminated all feel good from the meal & left us with a feeling that their enterprise was an unmitigated money grab. Despite the good service I would not recommend this place nor will I return for food or drink.

Also seems popular with the locals. As for the banchan, it was better than expected. The hot pot came out not not as hot as expected, so I couldn't get a good crust on my rice. I know, a bit picky, but bibimbap lovers will understand. I'm glad I found Korea Town, but expect the normal Swiss pricing if you go.

If you want authentic Korean food Shilla is the place to be!…read more It is a bit off the beaten path (although still in Zurich), and when you enter you realize that it isn't the best atmosphere in Zurich - it is a kinda basic style restaurant like you find in many jn Seoul. However, an important thing you will note immediately is that most of the staff and customers are Korean, which is obviously promising. I've been a few times now and each time Shilla's food managed to deliver each time. Their bibimbap is delicious as a lunchtime treat, or any time of the day really and their KBBQ offering is simply divine: the Galbi special and Samgyeopsal (pork belly) are among my faves. The quality of the meat is very good and although the banchan spread is quite limited, it is all really tasty. The service is a mixture of what you get in Switzerland (not that impressive) vs Korea (polite but good). One time the waiter forgot one of our dishes and while it took a while before they realized it, the manager went above and beyond to apologize and rectify the error. I guess everyone makes mistakes and the fact that he really tried to convince me that this is someone who is really passionate about customers. I must say that unfortunately not all his staff are as good as him, some of them seem quite indifferent so sometimes the service can be a bit hit and miss. Yes it isn't cheap, but Zurich is an expensive city and you often get what you pay for. I noticed that their menu contains some of my all time favorite Korean dishes (Yukhoe) so I will certainly go back to try! Highly recommended!

Uh-oh, I hate to do this, but I have to update my review and drop it down to 3 stars after visiting…read moreagain last Saturday. My first visit to this place was quite pleasant, and after telling an American friend about it, he was all excited to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, my experience the second time paled in comparison to the first. We came late last Saturday (around 8:30 pm), and the restaurant was about half empty. That was nice, so it wasn't overcrowded. However, the food didn't seem to turn over quite as much, so the buffet items were not as fresh and tasty. Some of the fried stuff were hard and definitely looked like they had been sitting in the warming trays for a while. The selection was quite sparse, and the sushi options were almost nil. I felt kind of bad for my friend, but I did warn him in advance not to get overly excited. I would say the food was okay, but not spectacular. And they raised the prices on the weekend special. It's now offered on both Saturday and Sunday at CHF 23.90 per person.

So we sat down in a table of four next to the conveyor belt where the food strolls in and you can take what you want. They don't have tables for two people, so we shared the table with two other girls, which was ok for us, but might be a bit weird for some people. The Sushi came rolling in, but we did have to wait for more to come. They did have other warm Chinese dishes, but we really wanted sushi or California rolls. The staff is still in training, but they really are trying their best and the manager is also very attentive and was very helpful when we asked her to send out more sushi or something sweet. I would recommend to sit in the first two tables next to the food belt. That way you get it faster from the kitchen. The food was really good. Of course the dishes are all westernised I think and I also think they wrote wrong the name of Amaki and Marki...think correct should be Temaki and Maki, but since I'm not japanese I didn't want to tell them about it...who knows maybe in china they say it like this... The only thing I thought was a bit funny, was that the girls next to us asked for some cold tea (or maybe something else), but got it warm instead. They told the waiter to change it, but he really insisted they tried it first, saying it was better hot. In the end they did, but I think he just wanted them to see what was on the bottom of the special little cups he brought...once you put the warm liquid in them, an image of a naked guy appeared at the bottom ;P funny yes, but a bit out of place for me...although the guys in the picture did look hot!
