Thanks Yelpers, I'm so glad I went to see Heidi! I will definitely return :)…read more I usually rely on acupuncture when I acquire strains or pains that don't respond to self-therapy (massage, ointment, rest). I don't like to take meds, so acupuncture is a great way to help my body heal itself. The difficulty is finding someone you like... Enter Heidi into my life! I recently had horrible lower back pain that wasn't attributable to any obvious injury... I was clearly overdue for some maintenance. Luckily, Heidi emailed me back immediately and booked me at her Union Square location! She performed this technique that was new to me (it made my muscles dance:), and I felt so much better when I left. Heidi is experienced and I was very comfortable under her care, mentally and physically, which is huge!! She's so personable, it would be great if all PCPs could be like her :) Considering how much NYers pay for massage therapy and haircuts, the price is reasonable. There may also be discounts for multiple visits. If you're looking for an acupuncturist in NY or Brooklyn, get in touch with Heidi.

I had debilitating…read moreheadaches and nerve pain that made my head feel like it was being "buzzed" by electricity constantly. I was desperate to get some relief as nothing was working. I had never experienced an acupuncture treatment, but understood the concept. My initial visit to Heidi started with a complete review of my overall general health and what was troubling me. I had no idea at the time that Heidi had worked with athletes, so a concussion was something she was very well aware of. After my first treatment, my headache and buzzing dropped from a 10 to a 3 within a few days. Each day I felt better. The second treatment a week later really helped more and within another week, the headaches and buzzing were completely gone. Such relief! Knowing that my body was receptive to acupuncture, I asked her if she would be willing to work on an old leg injury. She promised nothing, but said it would be worth a try. I injured my IT band 7 years ago in a fall. As a result of the fall, I ended up with a hip replacement as well. Over the next 6 sessions which started out weekly and then moved to every other week - then every 3 weeks, I could actually feel a major shift and change in the way my leg was healing. Not only did Heidi provide acupuncture, she also employed Gua Sha (a form of Chinese medicine). This brought amazing changes to the scar tissue that had formed in my leg from the injury and surgery. To my amazement, the constant ache in my leg began to lessen. It's now to the point where I can play golf without pain. I've even begun to play almost every day without having to take an Advil or ice my leg. From agnostic to believer, I better understand just how quickly acupuncture can resolve an issue in the body. For me, it was nothing short of a miracle. As a practitioner, Heidi is kind and thoughtful. A ready listener and educator on the practice. I can recommend her for A+ work and ethics. Thanks, Heidi for your gift of healing.

I can't imagine my life without their care and concern. They were able to help men when western medicine had reached its limits in many aspects of my care. I would say, one of the most poignant moments of my care management was when Dr. Paterson cured me of debilitating low back pain, of which I suffered from for over 15 years. The pain ended my modern dance career due to a car accident. I literally would go completely blind and experience shock like sensations up and down my legs from the compression in my spine. I used to crawl from the bathroom to the bedroom after work, and I couldn't even bend over the sink to brush my teeth without my knees buckling to the floor. Western doctors gave me pain killers, MRIs, radiation, and shots in my spine to no avail, other than a case of gastritis from long term use of NSAIDS for the pain. Dr. Paterson diagnosed me in the first visit with a psoaz muscle spasm in my right hip, due to the car accident. After suffering from years of debilitating pain, he cured me in less than two visits! He used a technique called manual therapy in conjunction with acupuncture and I have hardly suffered since. I think I had two more minor episodes over the next two years, which Dr. Paterson addressed. Since then, I have not exhibited those symptoms, at all, unless I do something unusual. It is so rare that I don't even think about it anymore, and I can work it out myself with a little stretching. It has been about 15 years since he treated me for the psaos muscle spasm. Dr. Paterson's acupuncture abilities combined with his knowledge of eastern medicine, and manual therapy is a highly unique skill set. I would not have made it through my job for the last 15 years, if it wasn't for his care. I highly recommend Centre Downe Health.

Manchester Acupuncture Studio…read more I have been a client/customer/patient of Manchester Acupuncture Studio in Manchester New Hampshire. This is a Community based acupuncture program that serves the greater Manchester area and surrounding towns and cities. I have had greater than 40 acupuncture treatments since the beginning of July. The quality is very good along with the staff. The staff are very accommodating whether its working you in on a busy schedule with no appointment, or if you have some special needs and require a little special assistance. There are sixteen reclining chairs in a large ward like room. Community acupuncture provides an added benefit of group encouragement and healing. The treatments are reasonable; they are $ 15 - $ 35 dollars, on a sliding scale geared to help all participants afford the treatments. Tiny little disposable needles are carefully placed in the arms, legs, feet, hands, and head (depending upon what type of treatment you require). The clinic is also usually able to treat two or three issues, simultaneously. Warm blankets are provided for those who require them, and a bathroom is available inside the clinic. The needles are often not even felt when the "punk" places them, at the most, minor mosquito like bite and any minor pain disappears within a minute or less. The treatments themselves are relatively painless and generally last about an hour, though you are welcome to stay longer if you wish. I want to point out my two favorite practitioners; Andy Wegman and Amy Vlacich. Andy and Amy are very skilled, but they are also natural communicators and very in tuned to the patient need requirements. I have also had Elizabeth Ropp and Jodi Lemery, they are very skilled as well. I would recommend Manchester Acupuncture Studio very highly for treatment of stress, anxiety, depression, blood pressure, swelling and inflammation, back pain, neck pain and a variety of other treatments. On the first visit you setup up a short 10 minute consult with the acupuncturist to discuss your treatment plan and options for treating multiple issues or conditions. The initial visit costs $10, a one time fee, then the treatment is the sliding scale fee of $ 15- $ 35 dollars.

He set up a comprehensive, unique health plan for me (diet, supplements, exercise, and lifestyle) and I've stayed with it because I feel repaired and well- and there are no nasty side effects with this protocol! Not only has he kept my blood cancer from progressing, but he has aptly addressed other health concerns such as osteoporosis, spinal alignment, and severe headaches over the last four years. He is also quite frank, which may be off-putting to some but is appreciated if you want the possibly grim truth about your condition without being given false hope. However, if you are coming to him as someone who has received a fatal diagnosis, as my family member did, you will find his services dwindle as the patient does. And what I mean by that is the distinct impression that he will not be making money off of the patient after a certain point and becomes hard to reach when the going gets tough. He seems to give plenty of attention when you are still healthy enough to keep paying, but if you are terminal he tries to milk it up front. As my family member declined, he pawned us off on his staff instead of giving the direct attention he did in the beginning. But if you can afford the high cost of his care and are not terminal it's probably worth trying him out.

Firstly, the address of the office has changed to 165 Rochester Hill Rd, Rochester NH. Over the past year I have seen 7 other doctors in Western Medicine for a whole mess of symptoms that came on suddenly. I went from specialist to specialist looking for help and a treatment to feel like myself again. Each doctor I went to would run tests, and then pass me off to another doctor when they couldn't figure out what was wrong. I had some really bad experiences with these doctors ranging from not calling me back when they said they would, telling me to wait a year or two for it to get better on it's own, and my favorite, handing me a brochure on Fibromyalgia and telling me "good luck, accept it and move on". After getting nowhere and still feeling miserable I knew I had to try something different. I have always been interested in the idea of holistic medicine and naturopaths but had never had any experience with them. I went through my insurance company to find a naturopath and that is how I discovered Elemental Medicine. I liked everything I saw on their website and the reviews they had on social media (except Yelp, which is why I'm writing this!!!). My first appointment with Dr. Devlin was very thorough and lasted 90 minutes. She looked at all my previous test results and asked me a lot of questions about my life, not just my symptoms, to determine the best course of action. I was already feeling so much better mentally after leaving her office the first time; I knew this would go much better than my past experiences. The staff here are so amazing. Everyone that works here treats you with respect, they treat you like a person that they care about, and they don't just run some tests and tell you "Oh sorry, I don't know what's wrong with you, go somewhere else". Lorena is the receptionist I speak with most, and she is so empathetic and understanding. She is on top of everything with her job - she is quick to follow up with me by phone and email about anything I need and I really appreciate that! Dr. Devlin has really gained my trust because she makes me feel like she really cares about helping me. She has accommodated my schedule by offering appointments over the phone and even mailing me some of the supplements I need to save me a trip into the office. Dr. Devlin's husband, Dr. Savastio, has also been involved in my health and I am looking forward to my first acupuncture appointment with him soon! I feel so happy now knowing that I found a Doctor who is not going to give up on me just because my illness is difficult to diagnose. I finally have a Doctor who is going to continue working with me and trying new things to make me feel better. I trust that Elemental Medicine will be able to help give me my life back and I want everyone to know how great this place is! Thank you!
