We just discovered this excellent restaurant a few days ago.. It was closed when we moved here for a long time. We found out this was because an elderly customer accidentally drove through the wall into the restaurant injuring the owner and a patron.. They are back open and thank God for that! Their food is excellent! The portions are HUGE ! Nora, the owner is a beautiful lady inside and out. Austin, and the rest of the staff are wonderful and welcoming folks.. Hamburgers, Gyros, lunch specials, and all other offerings are inexpensive and delicious. We will be eating there on a very regular basis.. read more

We stopped on the way through from picking up a kid from TSU in Kirksville after finding the place on Yelp. We wondered when we pulled up what we were getting ourselves into because it's an old house without much promise from the outside, and only a few cars were there at 8 am. But we were glad we tried it. Basic breakfast menu, not very fast service, but good eggs, toast and fantastic homemade hash browns and crisp thick bacon. We stopped in for breakfast while bringing my daughter back from fiddle camp in Bethel. I had done a little scouting around ahead of time, and after reading some reviews, decided to give the place a try. I had told my kids that since we were on the road, we were probably going to settle for fast food once we got on the road, so we should make sure we at least had some REAL food for breakfast . . . and we were not disappointed.The service was fast and friendly, and the food was plentiful and very affordably priced. Not only that -- it was delicious! An added bonus was the opportunity to talk a bit with some of the other customers, who (in addition to being fine folks) were all big fans of the South 63. Can't blame them for that -- I'm looking forward to stopping in again the next time I'm in the area, even though it's a whole year away. read more

Do not confuse this with the other diner on 63 which is awful. This place has excellent home cooked food with fantastic service. Great, hometown atmosphere where you get to meet a lot of locals. The pies are delicious. We have never had a bad meal here. read more

Nothing like homemade food and large servings at an affordable price! My husband and I stopped here on our way through. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich which was precisely cooked, very moist! My husband ordered the hot tenderloin meal and it was on point as well! Lots of locals seemed to eat here so that was a good sign. read more

Tried this out on a tip from a friend in Oklahoma where grilled onion burgers are famous. He told me they serve them right in my back yard, so here I am! Lots of local pickup trucks parked outside and a friendly greeting from the waitress. Good signs. Burger arrives and it is like a time machine had grabbed me. This is a huge burger with a major slice of grilled onion on top. I don't even add ketchup or mustard before I chomp into it. More words later. Must... eat...burgerrrr... read more
