My husband is not the type to go to counseling but he has really enjoyed seeing Tori and likes how she is very respectful of him and his feelings being that men have a harder time being vulnerable. We needed a neutral third party to point out the errors of our communications. Yes, you may feel "interrogated" because her goal is to ask as many questions to help you get to the root of the issue. You may start to feel those feelings because it will uncover a lot of hard truths about yourself. My child was a client of ABC. When we first started we had an amazing BCBA with an amazing RBT…read moreteam. Within the last few months we have noticed several of my child's rbt team left abc as well as the amazing BCBA we had. We were told by the new BCBA that they had tons of experience and was well knowledgeable. I was extremely disappointed to find out that that was not true. The new BCBA would frequently share information about another client and say it was my child. We had decided to switch to in home services and company that would work with one of our other children as well. We gave our notice and immediately the front office wanted to schedule a meeting to try and talk us out if leaving. I went in to sign discharge paperwork and receive our records. While I was waiting I was able to hear one of the front office people and our new bcba talking about a family and it was not a pleasant conversation. The office person said that they were going to have the clients last day be Monday. While I was signing paperwork. I was asked to go into the office of the person that was talking badly about a family and she notified me that they were moving my child's last day up. It was then I realized that the things I over heard was about my kid and my family. The front office person tried to blame the RBTs for the horrible things that were said when in reality they came directly from the front office person. It was extremely heartbreaking to know that they gave my child 1 day to say good by to his friends and the rbts he loved and adored. They literally pushed my child out of the clinic. The office staff care more about money than they do the children and families and that definitely showed with us. We were promised a smooth transition from in clinic serves to at home with a different company and they definitely did noy live up to their promises. A half a year ago I would have completely recommended ABC to any family looking for ABA services. Now I will absolutely not. I encourage anyone considering ABC to think twice. There are much better companies that actually value their clients and families.
