From the moment we stepped onto the Ambassador campus it felt like home with a caring family like atmosphere. The entire staff are all engaging and helpful. Our student did a tour and liked it, then did a shadow day and decided it was the right school for him. Ambassador has so much to offer. Firstly, a Christ centered approach to education with patience and mentorship. Many opportunities to be a servent of God in the community to help others. Second, outstanding academic classes with teachers who really care and support the students. AP and College prep is included in the affordable tuition fee with a wide variety of subject matter to choose from. Wonderful Guidance Counselors who truly walks the students entirely through the College application process from freshman year to senior year. Third, competitive sports in CIF leagues are offered with compassionate coaching that really guides the student to excel in their sport. Ambassador has been a dream come true for our student and our family. With smaller class sizes and more personalized attention by the teachers and staff, each student truly finds their way and earns the confidence to excel in their studies. The students also all seem so happy and they all are so welcoming and kind. Ambassador is truly a great Christ centered culture and wonderful family atmosphere that welcomes family involvment. She lacks the leadership experience and education to lead the school to its next chapter. This school also lacks instructor diversity. The school is led by all women that previously attended the school and now work there in order to get a discounted tuition and preferential treatment. Currently there are two male teachers. There is only one PE teacher and she a friend of the leadership team. Consequently they all live in a bubble. The academic curriculum has declined and is outdated. The principal refuses to implement curriculum to improve the technology and AI curriculum. There is only one computer teacher and the students meet once a week. They lack excellent foreign language, music and arts instructors. I would not recommend this school if you are looking for a quality Christian private school. Please do your research your child(s) education depends on it.

When I was given a tour four years ago, I knew what questions to ask regarding the curriculum and was impressed by the rigor, the class sizes, and the feel of community. So I decided to make the investment and move my son from a nearby public school to Rolling Hills Country Day School. One of the reasons was my son was diagnosed with moderate ADD and I knew he needed more personal attention and would thrive in a smaller school setting. It was the best decision! I do admit it took him a few months to get acclimated due to the academic rigor because the standards were different at his previous school. However, I loved it so much that a year later, I transferred my daughter there and now my third child attends RHCDS! I wish my kids could personally write a review. They absolutely love their school. They are eager to get to school early to play on the field before class! This school offers them a place where they feel safe and genuinly cared for. They not only have the academic rigor that in today's society is imperative, but they also prioritize in teaching values. Be a kind human is their motto and they definitely instill this on a daily basis. Learning and living by these values is what a child needs to thrive and be happy so they can focus in school. My son is now in middle school (upper school) and I know he will no doubt be prepared for any top rated high school. They focus on giving back to the community, character/values, teach independence, all the while really preparing these kids for high school. This school truly offers a fine balance. They have specialized teachers for various subjects, including technology. They also focus on presentation skills and even my little 7 year old has presented in front of the lower school! This is such an important communication skill that is disregarded in many elementary schools. I have also made amazing friends at RHCDS and I truly feel I am part of a family, or small community, even though I am a working mom and am not able to be there as much as I would like. I know my kids are cared for, safe, happy, challenged academically, and taught the same values that I teach at home. RHCDS is truly one of a kind and am so grateful to be a part of it.

We have been treated like family over the years - our children feel safe and known by their teachers and any questions or requests to the administration or teachers have been promptly and thoughtfully addressed. Our oldest child and middle school graduate, who now attends public high school, feels like she was well prepared academically and personally by teachers who challenged her to think critically and by expectations to be kind and respectful. Their middle school program offers small class sizes, field trips, sports, electives, and much more. My daughter made lots of friends and loved most of the teachers. She got good grades all throughout her middle school years and earned academic honor roll and other achievements both academically and for sports. During her 8th grade year, her class did a very memorable missions trip and went to DC. She told me that it will be a year she will never forget. The staff was great and very supportive. Mrs. E did a wonderful job in her new role as the principal. Coach Phil is a special person who was always available to the students when they need someone to talk to. He was a great coach, pe teacher, and yearbook teacher. My daughter loved coach Phil and I am so grateful for him. Mr. Shook was another favorite. He taught science and history. My daughter enjoyed him because he would always crack jokes and make everyone laugh. Mr.Shook was a great teacher, however, sometimes, I think he should keep his political opinions to himself. That was the only thing that kind of made me uncomfortable. The other thing relating to staff was the staff turnover. My daughter had a different English and math teacher every year. Which was annoying because she would build a strong relationship with them, then they left and she would have to rebuild. I understand that isn't the schools fault. But it did interfere with math and her math grade. Overall, my daughter and our family loved Valor! We highly recommend this school if you are looking for a small close-knit Christian school community. We felt safe sending her which was a big deal considering the unfortunate times that we live in.
