We absolutely love this daycare! Out of all the schools we toured, Leap and Bound gave the lasting impression. Since enrolling our daughter 2 years ago, we've seen such incredible growth in her--both socially and developmentally. She's become more confident, communicative, and curious, and it's been so rewarding to watch her thrive in this environment. The teachers and staff truly make this place special. They are warm, patient, and incredibly dedicated to the children in their care. It's clear how much effort and heart they put into what they do every single day. We especially appreciate the balance they maintain--while they keep parents informed and updated, their main focus is rightfully on caring for and engaging with the kids. I cannot give L&B high enough praise for the year they cared for our kids. Our twin daughters were only 4 months old when we had to go back to work and after a lot of shopping around L&B was far and away the best fit for us. They were one on the most affordable options considering we were paying for 2 babies and they have a wide open schedule that accommodated our work hours. Charlie and Diana showed a great care and interest in our family from day one and we really appreciate the work they do the make L&B what it is. It's nerve wracking to leave your children with someone else at that age, but everyone at L&B helped us feel comfortable that we were leaving them in good hands. Speaking only of their infant program, our girls loved it there. They had healthy socialization, semi-structured play time, out doors time, art projects, music, all on top of maintaining unique feeding and naps times for all the little ones. Their staff kept us in the loop every day through photos and info updates through their app (which I've never seen another daycare do. It's a great feature if you like to check up on your kids throughout the day.). They were very good to report any illness or concerns regarding our kids so we could stay on top of things. I called on a Sunday and a woman answered with a "hello". I asked who I was speaking with she would not tell me and asked the same and angrily said if I knew it was Sunday and again asked who I was. I said I was trying to find a daycare center and was told I had the wrong number which is impossible since it matched their number posted on the website. I told her I had the correct number and why was she being hostile to a potential customer. This is a strange way to run a business and not one that I'd trust especially with children. read more

Our family absolutely loves Leap & Bound! From day one, we've been so impressed by the caring, welcoming environment created by the administration and teachers. The staff is incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to each child's happiness and growth. One of the things we appreciate most is how connected we feel as parents thanks to the school's app. It's amazing to get constant updates on upcoming events, details about the daily routine, and--our favorite part--photos throughout the day! We love seeing our daughters participating in curriculum-based activities, reading stories with their teachers, or simply enjoying playtime outside. It's such a joy to get those real-time glimpses into their day and know they're in such great hands. The extracurricular activities offered are also wonderful and add so much variety and excitement to their week. Our personal favorite is the STEAM class offered at Leap & Bound. Where our daughters engage in fun science activities and topics including the different body parts, life cycle of a pumpkin, bee pollination, animal camouflage etc. Every day brings something new and enriching, and we can truly see the growth our daughters are making--socially, emotionally, and academically. Parents be aware of this unprofessional school. I called this week and spoke to Diana. I told her that I was interested in enrolling my children to their school and she was polite. I did tell her that I was in the process of transferring my children from their school and let her know that I receive subsidized child care with Options and she told me to check back with Options to do the transfer to Connections For Children(this is the child care subsidy that they only accept). So, I spoke with my case worker from Options told her that I wanted to do a transfer contract from Options to Connections and she informed me that paperwork was going to be sent for the service provider to fill out which included information from the service provider (pricing, w9,I.e). I called L&P back again today and spoke to Diana about this and she was suddenly "confused" with what I was telling her and directed me to this so-called "manager" named Charlie. I spoke to Charlie about my situation of transferring contracts from Options to Connections but that paperwork needed to be filled out by the service provider and he immediately answered aggressively and told me that he is not going to fill out nothing and that he sensed suspicion from transferring contracts and assumed that I wanted him to contract with Options which was never the case. I would highly not recommend this school for low-income families who rely on subsidized childcare. Charlie is the worst manager and I never deserved to be turned down or yelled at over the phone. This is not the way a school should treat parents especially those who are desperately seeking childcare. Please reconsider another school provider. This place is not it. I'm glad I didn't move forward and let myself be belittled by this "manager". I found another school nearby and I told them the same situation and they were a blessing sent from above, they were willing to fill out paperwork to make the transfer to Connections For Children and didn't give me any trouble about the paperwork. If you are with Options and are looking for a school that is willing to help with transferring your contract from Options to CFC, the school is called, "Future Kids Academy". You will love their school and their Director is polite and professional unlike Charlie and Diana. L&P do better. read more

I cannot thank all the teachers here enough for how much care, patience and effort into all the kids and especially my little ones. I have 2 kids enrolled at leap and bound (4 years old and 20 months old). It was tough finding a place where you can trust with your kids but I'm glad I found this place where I can. From the first time I brought my daughter at the age 2, she was very shy and not very vocal but after a couple weeks it all changed. She improved with her social skills, spoke more and would get excited to go there. Ms.Dejahnae is amazing, she always give me reassurance and updates whenever I need. She's very attentive and patient and would always answer my questions and concerns right away. I love that they also send us updates and pictures of our kids everyday. They have schedule for the kids to keep a steady structure and there's always fun activities they do. I've seen so much improvement with both of my kids since enrolling them and I can't thank all of the teachers enough. My son started at 16 months in the infant program and he loves it so much. First of all I would like to thank for all teachers that work hard for this great school!! I have 2 boys (3yrs and 5yrs) in this school now and both of my kids just loves it so much! My oldest son was used to be in the different location of this school which he wasn't as much happy as he is now and he looks much happier after we transferred him into the current Hawthorn Walteria location. I personally want to thank Ms. Natasha and Ms. DeJahnae ~ thank you for understanding and being patient with my oldest son even when he was having a focus issue. Mr. Hunter~my son loves your STEAM program. This program offers a lot of fun activities or group work for kids to have a great experience in science, biology, engineering, and mathematics. My oldest son always talked about your class and he even drew the picture of how the weather system works or how plant is useful for photosynthesis to his parents at home. Your STEAM program is an excellent program and I highly recommend for other parents if your kids haven't been in his program. He is very passionate about teaching and cares about the progress of how your kids are performing. I also love the fact that this school offers the app to communicate with parents and post pictures of your kids that how they are spending their enjoyable time at school. It's always good to see your kids in the picture. Anyway, if you are looking for a place for your child, I do recommend Leap and Bound, Walteria! You won't be disappointed. My son has been going to this school for 2 years. He loves his lessons and teachers. We see a big difference in all the stories he tells us with his interactions with other kids and the teachers. We want to especially thank Miss Mary and Miss Mitra who my son has grown to love and talk about after school. Their kindness and patience in teaching my son to potty and play nice has shown in how he handles himself at home. At times we find him singing school songs that he learned that day or reciting the alphabet numbers and colors. We are very impressed with how much he is learning and progressing. The best part is in the morning he wants to go to school so we feel good that he is happy, having fun and learning at the sametime. Location to this one for numerous reasons. I really won't get into that but let's point out the Pro's and Con's of this Hawthorne location. Pro's: Clean Comfortable environment with AC (even though we don't need it with the lovely beach breeze) Academically challenged Well organized Affordable Great hours for working parents Fun Personal Chef (Jose) who makes healthy warm lunches Teachers who are wonderful, smart, caring, patient (yes every single one of them). Con's: I wish they had a Kindergarten program at this location :( I want to personally thank Ms. Kendra (director)~ you are on top of it all and so involved with the students and parents. Ms. Larissa (assistant)~ you are very attentive to my son and I at all times. Ms. Dinah (my son's TK teacher)~ you have no idea how much my son and I appreciate your teaching skills. My son can read, way advanced in his math (multiplications...cmon at 5 years old?!) Really!!! Amazing! And thank you for understanding him and being patient with him. I have received no email. No correspondence whatsoever in regards to stopping you from charging me and removing my daughter from the school. Again, I ask what do you need? This was a phone conversation. There were no kids present at the time, including mine - so stating that I cursed in front of children is a lie. I did tell your staff this was BS, which it is. I called you on Friday morning, after receiving YOUR policy changes. You still insisted that I had to pay for next week. I was told I would receive an email re: taking my daughter out of the school and I received nothing. That is why I wrote this review. What do you need beyond my call that my daughter will not be attending? Clearly you want to continue charging me for multiple weeks of school, even in these troubling times. Also, you saying that I cursed and verbally assaulted your staff "twice in four months" in front of children, and you let me stay at the school, is absurd. Even in your reply you stated "we can fix what may have gone wrong" -- why would you allow or want a person like me at the school if that was the case? This staff is sweet and they care however this experience has left an awful taste in my mouth. Like I asked, what do you need from me? Things were fine until I wanted to take time away because of the virus. Due to the uncertainty, I've only sent my daughter one day the last three weeks running. I tried to put a "hold" on her spot (upon receiving a less than reassuring new procedures and "what we're doing" email) and was given three options. 1) 2 week hold, with no charge. 2) Give them a return date and pay a $150 "holding fee," to keep her space. 3) Take her out completely, with 2 weeks notice. All sounded reasonable, until I was told I had been been charged for next week and it was non-refundable and not applicable to option two. I told them, for obvious reasons (COVID19), I would not be bringing her. I chose the $150 option. That was their reply. Well, you still have to pay for next week. The amount already charged for Wednesday to Friday of next week (her days) is higher than the $150 hold fee, but it's not good enough. They want to keep that, plus another $150 to hold her spot. I have no problem with paying what's fair. They sent an email regarding updated procedures and plan yet allow no room for me, as a parent, to say I'm not comfortable with this so I'll be talking a minute to figure out how to best keep my child and family safe. It is petty to gouge people at a time like this. That is what they are doing! This is not the time to take advantage of a very difficult and confusing situation. We are all clearly trying our best to help minimize the spread of this contagious virus. read more

I was very disappointed with our short enrollment at this location. Once I got nickel and dimed by what seemed like a selective drop off policy, it soured me on keeping my little one here. I can understand the importance of an early drop off and late pick up policy, but being charged $15 for being 1 and 2 minutes early of our 8:30 drop off is beyond ridiculous?! 8:28 and 8:29 smh. Mind you, the drop off process includes a face scan to enter, washing of hands, making your way to the class area, putting food items into your kids cubby then coming to the front for a temperature scan before you leave well past 8:30. When I asked after being penalized I was told there's no leeway as in a +/-1 min tolerance and the indifferent "check the handbook". From then on it's drop off anxiety to be there waiting for 8:30. Meanwhile I'm standing in the lobby foolishly waiting while other parents stroll in early and you see the 8:25 type early drop offs throughout the sign in book. We held out because our child really looked forward to class even on her off days, but the advent of COVID19 made our decision easier. We signed up for 3 half days and lasted 2 months. For prospective parents, dont pay the janky supply fee outright. We paid the $250 outright thinking we'd be here long term. They wouldn't prorate it citing the handbook/contract(couldn't find it‍) unsympatheticlly. We now have a few expensive pieces of recycled paper with macaroni now. read more

First of all I was searching for kid for a day care that it help him in his case he has speech and aggressiveness issues and he was just 2 years old I went to a day care near my work but he was worse and he had a very emotional problem, so I found leap and bound and I enrolled for him and I really waited a year to see his progress and today his completed a whole year, they are amazing and his progress is amazing, when I have problem with my kid, they try to solve my problems and they try to fix in the daycare as well. I believe that parents wish the best for their children and believe that L&B is a great fit for my family. I enrolled my daughter for the 2-year old class in October 2019 and seen her flourish into an independent, social toddler who absorbs all the fun ways her teachers - Ms. Vee and Ms. Dominique - create learning experiences to enhance her social and academic curiosity. It really is the staff that make the safe and happy environment a true gem in the community. As a work-at-home mom, I appreciate the flexibility of the schedule L&B provides and still focuses on a positive academic learning environment. It may seem chaotic at times, but the teachers have a great handle on patient positive reinforcement in a safe environment. Our daughter has been at LBA since she was 3 years old. We finished up Kindergarten during one of the most stressful years. In June of 2021 our family decided to move out of state and I had no idea what to expect academically, but I have to give credit where credit is due. I met with our daughters teacher regarding her academics and she asked where she went to school. So I told her. She then replied that she had amazing teachers and the curriculum was spot on. She then proceeded to tell me that she was pleasantly surprised that our daughter was at a 2nd grade level in Math and reading and above 1st grade level in writing and spelling. My son has been going to leap and bound for almost 2 years. My daughter too did her pre-schooling here.  We were so happy and satisfied with all the teachers that we didn't think of any other pre-school for my son. All the teachers here are caring and friendly. My son was little shy in the beginning. Later on, he made many friends and comes back home with a big smile. He always says "mommy, I had a  blast "  My son didn't know how to write when he joined the school. Ms.Mitra taught him so well that he learned to write letters and numbers. Ms. Mitra gives motherly love to kids and is very warm, cheerful and caring with kids. Ms. Mary is friendly, understanding and gives good education to kids. My son learned to read and write words in a short period. He is currently in Ms Inoka's class and we are very satisfied with her. She makes sure that kids eat right. She is caring, patient and pay very good attention to kids. I was surprised how my son is now able to read and write sentences and learned complex additions and subtractions. She gives us update about how my kid is doing academically and socially. Ms Inoka makes kids ready for to go to kindergarten. The best part of the school is the STEM curriculum.  My son always looks forward for the class that is taught twice a week. We moved into Torrance area last year and were searching for a preschool for my son who is 4years now. I was very impressed with the school with respect to safety, staff and overall focus towards development of the child. Fast forward to today, I cannot be more happy and thankful to the school and teachers. I see a lot of improvement in my child socially as well as academically. His class teacher Ms.Inoka has been instrumental in shaping him. Ms. Inoka is very patient with the kids and understands that every child is different and gives complete attention. She ensures that the child feels secure, comfortable and happy. I also appreciate that they get homework and bring lot of craft work completed in the class. In addition to that, they have many activities and interesting events happening which my child enjoys. They also give us constant feedback and we get to see all updates on the app with pictures. Terrible school. It's more like a day care then a school. Before covid i loved ms Adriana she was structured and amazing. Also ms Denise. All the quality staff unfortunately left. If your child doesn't nap anymore forget about this school. They get very pissy when your child wants to play instead of nap. I got called 3 days in a town to pick my daughter up ASAP. Moving to a new town means the need to transfer to a new school and I must say I dreaded for that day to come..... until I stumbled upon L&B Torrance Walteria! I met Ms Denise during my appointment (I had no option but to bring my 2 children along and she brought out toys to keep them busy so we can get down to business) she's very professional, sweet and genuine... which is why I was drawn to returning. Having said that my daughter comes from a half-day play based school, I was worried about the transition and wasn't sure how she would do. She was enrolled FT in Ms Alexis' class and I was very impressed at how quickly she was progressing academically and socially. Ms Alexis is very sweet, loving and approachable and I've sat in her a class a few times and watched how she interacts with her pupils. My child has been with L&B for 5 months now and she's able to write her name, recognize numbers and letters, do some basic math skills, write words, and learning how to read. I'm amazed that my daughter comes home with homework every week. I was so amazed and drawn that I couldn't wait to enroll my 2 year old son. I was eager and couldn't wait until he turned 2. Everyday he went with me to drop off his sister, we had episodes of crying because he wanted to stay in school. When that time finally came, he was enrolled in Ms Vee's class. I was so nervous since it was my first time letting him out of my sight. But Ms Vee goes above and beyond to give you the assurance that your child is doing okay. She got my number down and was so kind enough to send me photos of him up until this day randomly. That is very much appreciated and just goes to show how thoughtful she is!! My baby loves her and now tells me "see teacher" when he's home. I was also amazed at how quickly he learned potty training in just 2 weeks. He now knows how to clean up his own toys, puts his soiled diaper in the trash, let us know when his diaper is soiled or when he wants to pee. After his first week here, he came home trying to show off to us that he's able to eat on his own (LOL). The school itself have fun calendar activities for the kids whereas they can come in their costumes or favorite Disney or superhero character. They also do a fun Halloween and Christmas program. And potlucks got everything occasion makes it fun for kids! I love how they also how DOJO app for the parents so you can see photo updates from your child's teacher. The school is pretty secured with face recognition app upon entry and gate all around the big play area and few teachers are always present when they're out for playtime. I love the school staff here.. Ms Susan is the Director and she's very approachable if you have any concern regarding your child and she makes sure it gets taken care of ASAP and I love the fact she helps out the teachers with the kids as well. Ms Inoka, Ms Taregus, Ms Adriana, Ms Lily, Ms Dominique are all very sweet and loving teacher as well for all other classes... but they all pretty much sub each other during break time so you'll hear your kids mention their names to you as well. Even Chef Jose is very nice and always greets you when he sees you. My daughter speaks fondly of Mr Hunter and loves the days he comes in and teaches them all these "cool" new activities. I took a tour of this facility and this location is beautiful. I really liked the entrance and the sense of tranquility. The director/manager was also very sweet and helpful. The director showed me the class my daughter would be in. Everything seemed great until I noticed the teacher looked miserable and overwhelmed. I understand kids are a lot to deal with but it was barely 8 am. My daughter immediately grabbed a toy where the kids were and a little girl tried to hit her. Kids always hit each other that's nothing new; but what bothered me was that the teacher didn't even notice. That really worried me. I wouldn't want my daughter to get hit or hit someone and the teacher not notice. I have taken a tour of the redondo location and loved it. I still have to take a tour of the other Torrance location. I'm willing to give this place a chance and tour again; maybe the teacher was having a bad day. read more

I'm too sure as to what the rationale was or this, but as a parent, I do not find it acceptable. It also didn't sit well with me when I was told that the venue my child was going to was a different location. I guess their revEnue quotas hasn't been filled yet at the the location. My son and daughter started at L&B in August of 2019 it was the best choice for us.All the teachers are so attentive if they notice anything about you child they immediately contact you.My daughter is in the 2 year old toddler class she loves her teacher Ms.Vee.She also loves singing and dancing she comes home singing new songs and she is recognizing her Colors and ABCs and shapes and independence.My son is 3 years old and in Ms.Adrianas he loves her he always ask when we get to the school if she is there.Ms Adriana has helped my son spell his name & recognize colors and write is name and also to use his words like please and no thank you.I just love all the teachers and staff here. read more

I brought my son here when he was 2 and we just love it here. There is a true sense of community and caring between the children, the caregivers and other families that come here. The location is beautiful. There is a chef onsite that cooks wonderful lunches. My son has food allergies, and the teachers have always been understanding and accommodating. We love the mix of all nationalities, it is truly a multi-cultural place. They have a great check-in/check-out system - we always feel safe. Plenty of parking. Safe, friendly area. They do diapering and help with potty training when the time comes. My son has learned so much here - numbers, the alphabet, colors, shapes, songs. He is happy and surrounded by friends and I always feel good about leaving him here in such good hands. read more

Our son and daughter have been attending Leap & Bound for a year now and we couldn't be happier. To start, the facility is one clean, large open space, with classrooms separated only by bookcases. Lots of natural light and space for our young ones to learn and play. They serve hot meals for lunch every day, provide potty training (successful for both kids, btw),host sports and dance programs, fun themed days every month, and emphasize frequent and thorough hand washing (so important for kids this age). Within a few days, every teacher knows your child's name so you feel at ease heading off to work no matter who is checking in kids that morning. We've had the pleasure of working with Ms. Erin, the director, Ms. Kathryn, our son's preschool level teacher and Ms. Djoni and Ms. Malak in our daughter's toddler class. Ms. Erin-This is your best friend. Advocates for the parents, teachers and students to make sure everyone is happy. She always takes and makes the time to answer questions and address any concerns. One day you'll see her giving tours and manning the front office and on another, she'll be right there changing diapers and giving hugs to students. Her kindness and responsibilities have no limit and I have no doubt the school runs smoothly because she is there. Ms. Kathryn-Before starting school, our son was very shy and timid. One year with Ms. Kathryn and he's a brand new boy. She teaches her class with a perfect balance of education and fun and adds her own loving touch. At 4 years old, our son can write legibly and do math and the best part is, he LOVES school. He's formed bonds with both friends and teachers and that improvement in his social skills is no doubt attributed to Ms. Kathryn's encouragement coupled with her warm personality. Ms. Djoni & Ms. Malak-Each of these teachers have their own incredible strengths but together they are a well oiled machine working in sync everyday to take care of an energetic group of two year olds. If you can only imagine the heart and patience that requires, you know that these teachers are nothing short of amazing. Leaving my daughter in their capable hands is the equivalent of leaving them with family. Being a mother herself, Ms. Djoni understands the anxiety a mother feels leaving her baby in a strangers hands. She takes the time each and every day to fill you in on the details of your child's day and she leaves no detail unturned. Needless to say, that stranger is more like a friend now. Ms. Malak is so kind and gentle, her love for teaching shows through every smile, every hand she holds and every comforting hug. She individualizes the needs of each of her students with such ease and it shows in the affection my daughter shows for her. It will be a bittersweet day when our kids graduate from Leap & Bound but in the meantime, we will enjoy all the flexibilities and comforts they offer to working parents! Bottom line is I love this school for my kids. Long story... We were first referred to the Redondo Beach location by a friend. She spoke very highly of the teachers, mainly Ms. Kendra. By the time my kids were ready, Ms. Kendra had transferred to the PV Blvd location, so that's where we started. Literally a week after we started, Ms. Kendra was promoted as director of the new Hawthorne location. We loved her so much, we decided to transfer to that location. It was the best decision we made. I have 2 kids that attend there and we couldn't be more satisfied. It's affordable, healthy lunches, flexible schedules, and the greatest teachers. Our experience is with Ms. Dinah ( teacher extraordinaire) who has taught my 5 year old not only how to read and write but he already knows multiplications. Special mention to Ms. Ronda and Ms. Larissa who my kids love. You really can't go wrong with any teacher here! In a few years my twins will also transition here. My kids have attended this school for 2 1/2 years and absolutely love it! Ms. Kendra is the director and is amazing with the kids. Ms. Dinah is my son's teacher and is an absolute blessing. My son was reading after only one week in her class. My daughter's teacher Ms. Ronda is also a blessing. These teachers have the most patience I have ever seen. I will be very sad to go when it's time for "big kid school". I know I don't have to worry when I leave my kids here. Always in good hands. Our son has been attending Leap and bound at this location for almost over 2 years now and he's been loving it! What more can you say. He gets excited in the morning to go to school and still is. What more can you say to that. All of the teachers are so so sweet, they are loving, caring, and very personable. We thought about moving to another school since he grew up and his best friend had to graduate preschool, we asked for his opinion but he wanted to stay so he is still attending. He is now in the Kindergarten class with Ms. Taregus and she is amazing. He's been learning so much, everyday he comes back from school, we notice his vocabulary has expanded and vocal skills have been advancing everyday. Just simply amazing to see all this change each day and we are so grateful to all of his class teachers who made a huge impact of him to grow, Ms. Mitra, Ms. Adriana, Ms. Erin and Ms. Taregus. Now that he's in the Kinder class with Ms. Taregus, he brings homework to do and to see him get excited about homework, it's simply amazing. Whenever we pick him up from school, he gets so excited to show ups what he learned from school today and we get a whole lecture from him and are the last ones out cause he wants to stay longer to play. Before he used to be really shy but after attending Leap and Bound at this location, he's been less shy, much better with strangers and more vocal. Thank you teachers. read more
