Looking at the older reviews I have a hard time believing them but okay. This is 2025, so maybe owners have changed but the guy, Jeff, who owns the place threw some sealant in my tires, hooked me up with a hand me down garmin mount, and torque wrenched some iffy spots for like $15. I'd say 100% positivity for this shop and its owner. read more

Went in for a simple wheel true. Found the staff (owner?) to be rude and incapable. The man told me it would take several hours the following day to true the wheel, then bad mouthed one of his mechanics for taking the day off short notice. When I offered to pay him to use his truing stand and do the work myself, he just laughed. During our conversation, my bike was leaning against a glass case. When I turned to leave he began to yell about my bike leaning against the case and how it could have broken it. A pretty classless guy in a pretty classless shop. I'd get your work done elsewhere, if you have an option. read more

The shop is fully stocked for almost anything you need and if they don't have it, they'll get it. I started with getting a new road bike and by the end of the year my entire family had new bikes. Karl and Woody at South Coast Bicycles represent the best of the best in the bike industry. They have an exceptionally high level of attention to detail in their mechanical work - I've taken a number of bikes with unique/specialty parts. Each time, they've done exceptional work and they take the time to ensure the small details are taken care of - including calling the manufacturer directly to get torque specs if they don't have them in a quick reference. Every time I've taken a bike there, it is setup properly and professionally - it doesn't get much better than that. Bike shop owners have a reputation for being fairly pretentious and if there was ever a guy that could justify being pretentious, it's Karl - check out his racing pedigree. That being said, he's probably THE most humble guy I've met. More over, he seems genuinely excited when you bring your bikes in - he still gets pumped up about bikes despite seeing them day in and day out. Bottom line - South Coast Bicycles is a pretty special shop, and I'd have no reason to recommend anywhere else within a 400 mile radius. read more

Nice shop. They rent hardtail KHS "plus" bikes and I had a hard time with the through axle on one of ours. Karl and Micah just spent 20 minutes fixing it, and making sure it worked ok for me. This was at the end of the day and they were super helpful, polite and patient. Apparently Karl, the owner helped make the somewhat new Whiskey Run trails happen. This store makes Bandon so much better than it already is. read more

I have visited this store a few times and have been underwhelmed by the service and the "expertise." The owner and another employee were both rude, inept, and just plain jerks. They don't mind making you wait for several minutes before helping or even acknowledging you, and if you ask for advice they act as if you are looking for a handout. On one occasion, the owner's daughter was in the store and he was so rude to her, I felt uncomfortable being there. I would avoid this store unless it's your only option. read more

We rented 2 fat bikes for the day. The staff got the bikes ready and checked out all the mechanics. Within half an hour we were off through old town of Bandon to the south Jetty road. From there we hopped onto the beach and had a blast riding for several miles down the beach to Bandon State Park. They only rent by the day, which is too long if you want it for just a half a day, but the rental fees were reasonable. When we returned there was a couple bike touring from Astoria. The guy had snapped a derailer cable 5 miles out. They had fixed the cable and they were on their way again. You don't have many choices for LBS in Bandon, but they seem to have quality bikes and components and accessories here. They rent only fat tire bikes. But that's great for the beach!! read more

Went in for a bottom bracket replacement and a rear wheel truing on my 2002 Jamis Explorer 3.0, took them over a week to true the rear wheel and they "replaced half of my bottom bracket, but were unable to do the full job since they couldn't remove it." Total B.S.! They still took the maximum amount of money from their estimate to not finish their work. The owner then tried to upsell me on some crappy Specialized bike saying that my bike was too old and needed to be replaced. I bought a cartridge bottom bracket and some park tools through amazon, replaced it myself and haven't looked back. Next bike I bought was through Nashbar, and the one after that on Ebay. Not every LBS is worth investing in. read more
