    Schnitzel special
    Howard C.

I've never heard of this place before, so when my partner said there's a good sandwich place nearby I was all ears and we zipped right over. I made the mistake of coming here after a dental procedure so half of my mouth was numb and I couldn't taste anything except with the right/right rear side of my tongue, which means I'll need to revisit this place for a proper verdict. Anyway, since I could only taste bitter, sour, and semi-salty take this review with a grain of...salt. I had the chicken schnitzel special on brown for $12.50 (typically $7.50) and the special comes with boiled egg, caramelised carrots, potato salad, avocado, tomato, and cheese. With my half assed tongue I could tell that this was delicious, especially the caramelised carrots. I could do without the potato salad though, that was just unnecessary filler, same goes for the egg. The sandwiches are pretty big, not Malibu big but decent sized enough that if you weren't that hungry you could take one home to eat later. Best sandwiches in Sydney? No, but pretty good nonetheless. The salads looked delicious as well, have to say the caramelised carrots are a winner here. Will be back with proper taste buds.

To review or not to review, that is the question. I had some serious apprehensions when deciding whether or not to review South Dowling Sandwich, because, well, it's so damn good! You might be thinking to yourself, "Why is this girl getting so excited about a sandwich?" But you will never understand how good a sandwich can be until you visit this place. Be sure to get there early (before midday) because come lunchtime, there's a line out the door and you might miss out on some of your favourite toppings. You can either choose a sandwich from the menu board, or create your own. My personal favourite goes a little something like this: * White bread (you can choose between the brown and white loaf, and slices are cut to order, ensuring freshness every time). * Chicken schnitzel. * Red pesto. * Caramelised carrots. * Rocket (and not the sad looking, wilted variety you find in the supermarket). * Potato- that's right, potato on a sandwich, carb on carb, so filling, so good. * Cheddar cheese. * Avocado. These are just a few of the toppings you can choose from, but be warned, the more you add, the more expensive your sandwich is going to be. Each topping costs approximately $1 extra, so by the time you're done, your $8 chicken schnitzel sandwich will cost $15. But I guarantee it will be the best sandwich you've ever tasted.

Rocket that looks like it was foraged in the wild, a homemade "red pesto" teeming with flavour and crunchy golden chicken shnitty to put pubs to shame.

The honeycomb served with it was crunchy and delicious and the strawberries and other fruits were fresh and of beautiful quality. I also loved how beautifully it was all plated up. I will defiantly be back and when I am, I want to try one of those Totoro Cakes, as they are just too cute and I'm a Studio Ghibli fan.

The café itself was dainty and had lots of florals. I think its a florist shop as well. You are sure to be greeted by hanging plants and floral walls! It's definitely a great spot to enjoy your cuppa (latte, coffee, tea, and more) all while taking in the stylish décor. The way they plate their food is like a work of art! It's amazing and almost to pretty to eat. While ordering my food, I noticed they had a Red Velvet Latte. OMG, I was so excited because I love anything Red Velvet! I had only had a latte once before in life, but the words Red Velvet had me sold. Boy was I happy I ordered this drink. It was AMAZING!! Sweet and had a Red Velvet taste. This was the first sign of a great breakfast. For breakfast, I ordered The Wake Up Sunshine. My husband and I split an order of pancakes and he ordered an omelet. My oh my, I didn't realize how much food was going to come out on the Wake Up Sunshine. It definitely woke me up and made my belly happy! It was so good, hearty, and flavorful. It was definitely a breakfast of champions! The pancakes had to be the most beautifully plated pancakes I have ever eaten. They were so good in taste and everything that accompanied the pancakes on the platter was a nice bonus in flavor. This and the Wake Up Sunshine are definitely must try's. The omelet was a typical omelet that came with a side salad. My husband enjoyed his meal. Overall, I was so happy to have gotten the chance to dine at Cuppa Flower. My experience was not anything short of amazing!
