Reuben? Reub-no.
From Wikipedia (a trusted source, obvi):
"The Reuben sandwich is a hot sandwich of corned beef, Swiss cheese with Russian dressing, and sauerkraut. These are grilled between slices of rye bread. Several variants exist."
Now what I had wasn't BAD. It had a couple pieces of a nice tasting deli meat with some thickly chopped pickled cabbage and some mustard flavouring was to be found in the dressing - and there was a good amount of cheese. Overall it was a pretty good sandwich, but a Reuben, it was not.
The sign out front informed me that the crunchy fresh bread was, in fact, certified organic sourdough - something important to some so I thought it noteworthy.
Value isn't the best. For the going sandwich rate of $9.50 you can get something giant and delicious at Little Vienna around the corner, although admittedly I came here because I didn't want something giant. This was about the size of Taste Baguette, but not as soft in the middle.
If I had ordered anything other than a Reuben, this review could have gone another way. The masses in front of me all seemed to be ordering the schnitzel, so maybe that's worth a try. read more
