We are about to hire someone else to put a drain in our driveway because this company had no interest in leaving us with a good driveway. This is the letter we sent them spring of 2018: "When you replaced our old driveway summer of 2016, the first problem was immediately apparent when we first saw the work. [We we're away while it was done] The new driveway was perhaps four inches lower than the old driveway!! And yet no one got in touch with us once work began to let us know of this problem and to discuss ways of addressing it. This has meant major grading issues, some of which still have not been resolved. It's hard to imagine how the driveway could simply have been left that way without a word to us. Second, because of negligent clean up by your staff, we found masses of chunks of old driveway in the vegetation along the driveway, which filled several large bags when we cleaned the chunks out. Finally, we have complained to you (summer of 2017) of a new location of puddling in the driveway, and it was suggested that we create channels into the ground take run off. But what has now become clear is that the driveway slopes down from a midpoint towards an area just short of the garage. The water does not puddle against the garage as it used to, but a couple of feet short of it. A drain in the driveway itself would have addressed this and, if put in now, could still address it." We had a very good experience with South Fork Asphalt. We built our home in Sag eleven years ago and had help from their designer, Sal Ficara, who worked with us to design the right driveway for our house. We have had to replace the stones only once in 11 years. SFA also designed a friends house in Southampton. I was impressed at how they made sure the drainage was working properly before putting down the asphalt. The company is responsive and on point. They did everything they said they would in a timely way. I would highly recommend them and their designer, Sal Ficara, is a terrific guy - reliable and honest. read more

The worst company ever!!!!!! They did our drive way and we now have car tire marks indented in our driveway ( from our cars when they sit in the driveway)!! They told us one year warranty. We called the company so many times about this issue and they either don't answer or come up with a bullshit excuse! We contacted sal so many times and in may it will be almost a year ! We called the company to send us a letter stating that we called and that our driveway will be fixed before the one year warranty is up and they never did! Two of our friends also used this company and excuse my language they fucking messed it up as well! Can't wait to bring this company to court! Horrible horrible and horrible!!! Do not use them! The person from South Fork Asphalt, Sal, who measured and made suggestions seemed professional. We had our existing driveway widened and once completed, it looked very nice. But within just a few years, there were many major cracks all the way down the one side of the driveway where it had been widened. It took ages for Sal to finally come look at the problem and he had no idea why there would be these major cracks but offered to repair them for a high price. I refused as I felt the driveway should not need to have major work in such a short time unless they would give us a discount. We had a separate area of our property where they had put down a foundation and then gravel for storage of our boat. Last fall we asked them to come remove the gravel which they finally did after many months, too late to put down topsoil for planting grass. Now in the spring we have had a landscaper come estimate the amount of topsoil and they said there is entirely too much gravel still there and they will not spread topsoil. If Sal is responsive to my calls, I'll write a revision to this review but my experience has not been good with them. I wish Mev B. well in taking them to court. I don't plan to do that but I would NEVER recommend South Fork Asphalt to anyone. read more
