I know there are a few.mixed reviews here. I think ogerall.all daycare follow a certain sickness guidelines. Whether Its the CDC or not. They have their policies amd guidelines. Why I rate this school.is all the teachers amd staff members have been so good with our kiddos. They are honest and help.give feedback on how we cam support their growth as well. When they first opened ot was hard to get in, but once we.got in. It was a bit rocky. They had teachers amd staffembers that came amd gone or called out. Remember these are part of the repercussions for covid. As it was harder to find jobs amd then once it was lifted..other teachers amd staff members.had the opportunity to look for jobs that interested themore Either for lifestyle or interest Either way. As.those transitiones.did occur it did impact.our child, but overtime the daycare has stabilized and even with the rotation, they always find amazing staff members. They are always so kind amd eager to educate the children. Some.have more experiemce.tha. others amd others have more patience. They all work well together and our children love it there. They have made friends. They are fed amd they are learning so much. This facility has soapy a tivoties as well. Things for summer with water days. To events like art shows amd trunk or treats. They build a community. Not just a place where we drop ojr children off to be babysat. We feel safe knowing our children are learning in a safe environment with a great team. I know daycare can be costly, but its worth it. I am.not sure their cost to others, but I knownits not at the extreme end. I do wish they had after school programs. We LOVE Kindercare and are SO grateful they have a summer camp for school aged kiddos! While we haven't been there long, I can confidently say this daycare is beyond 5 stars. For starters, our kiddo is autistic and you'd be surprised how difficult it is to find a care situation for him outside of the school district for the summer. Other area daycares would have certain "requirements" that our kiddo didn't meet or would say they had openings during the tour but would then put us on a waitlist despite being told there were openings. When we toured Kindercare, we shared some of our concerns for our kiddo's specific needs and they were met with instant understanding, accommodation, and flexibility. They even let us bring in our kiddo beforehand to meet his teacher, see his classroom, and get used to the space. And every day since he has LOVED going to "Summer Camp". He is the youngest and seemingly the only neurodivergent kiddo in the class (though I don't know this for certain) and that doesn't seem to matter AT ALL. He is loved and cared for in the exact same way and given all the opportunities of the other kids. Plus, he can say no thank you to things he might not like and that's fine too and as we were on the tail end of potty training, they are open and willing to support our efforts with potty reminder timers specific to him. Seeing him so happy to run into a space that he forgets to say bye is the best feeling. It's also incredible that it isn't "Oh here comes the autistic kiddo" it's just a normal part of their day for him to walk through the door like all the other kids. As an autism mama I couldn't ask for much more than the welcoming, inclusive environment of Kindercare and we hope to come back next summer too! This is one of the best child care places in town. I had my son at all other childcare places over the last 2 years or so, but he likes to go to school now , at Kindercare- South Reno- due to the staff and teachers paying attention to what's important to kids. Google and Yelp has a habit of trashing places with bad reviews, just so that Scammers from other countries, can offer to help and make money in the process. Small businesses should not be held hostage by scammers. Real reviews matter! Scammers and ex-workers who probably got fired, generally write the worst reviews! read more

I wouldn't trust this place to care for a pet rock. We decided to try out South Reno Kindercare after the first time they opened then closed without telling anyone. I now understand how they inherited a 5 star Daycare and have it at 2.3 within 3 years. They lost my respect and trust within 7 months. This place lost my child. He was about to go outside by the time his father (thankfully) came for pickup. There were 3+ teachers and the Assistant director present and they didn't realize a child was gone until dad brought him back in. When we initially brought up concerns the director told us "he was in line of sight" despite being behind an entire door. We then talked to the brand new District Leader she attempted to correct it by having the front desk staffed, however, that sporadically didn't happen. Due to the lack of supervision and losing my child I filed and informed the director a formal complaint. After that my child went from no incident reports to 7 in 4 days. This was alarming as a week prior the director told me that my child "was doing fine and there are no current concerns." My child would deny each instance of hitting. Until one day he did admit to hitting and using "potty words." He said this as his high collared shirt was pulled completely down and ripped. We then found out that another child pulled his shirt and hurt him, he was upset and wanted to go home so he began to misbehave. I still worked with my child to not use hitting and misbehaving as a reaction but to tell his teacher. But then not a single teacher noticed a torn pulled down shirt for the entire day, he was even with the director for some time and no one asked him whay happened. How can I trust somewhere that can't even identify an antecedent to certain behaviors? They already lost my child and continued to retaliate. My child began playing "incident report" and would "write momma up" when mom would tell him no. I found out that someone at kinder care was using the threat of "pink slips" to modify my child's behavior. At this point we had to pull my child due to significant safety concerns. My child entered kinder care never hitting, biting, or acting out and left with anxiety and bite marks. The last day was the icing on this dumpster fire of a place. My child was bit and fell, hitting his head. This occurred at 12:30, I didn't get a call until I pulled into the parking lot at 4:30pm. They waited 4 hours for a head injury that still had a bruise 4 hours later. I can't believe i paid for my child to be neglected... read more

These people show how they treat teachers and parents. LIKE CRAP! What they did was so sad. Shutting a daycare that has been open for decades and KC shut down in 6MONTHS! They left over 100 kids plus the families without daycare. They said that this is a "TEMPORARY" and a " INDEFINITELY" close. It's been 2-3 weeks and KC have not updated us with NOTHING! SMAME! Today was my sons last day at Kindercare. Leaving this place was SO very tough but was something we had to do. Our son started at "Child Garden" when he was only 3 months old and it was SUCH a wonderful place. The STAFF made this place magical! I always felt that when I dropped him off he was being taken care of by a family member. In retrospect I can't describe how important this was as a new parent. Fast forward 5 years and KinderCare purchased the business. I can't convey how quickly everything changed once the new ownership took control. I remember meeting the regional director on day one of the transition and got a bad feeling from both her and the organization's culture . Since then they have enacted policies and procedures that go against everything that made this place special for both children and parents. They have lost such amazing staff members. The culture/management feels like its driven by profit, legal CYA and insensitive policies and is no longer a place that nurtures, teaches and cares for your children. It's been heart wrenching to watch this take place in a little over six months. They still have some very bright spots with some of the legacy staff members, I hope these staff members stay for the childrens sake. To Kindercare's management- I suggest you start to listens to some of these reviews, feedback from parents, and most importantly the legacy staff members that knew how the magic was created at the old "Child Garden". I feel strongly that daycare has such a huge impact on a child's life, demeanor and character and for these reasons could no longer support Kindercare, I hope they find the magic this place used to possess. read more

This place was a treasure before it was purchased by Kindercare. Since the purchase they have closed without notice due to staffing shortages. Closed week after week because of COVID and have changed the policy to now charge you for their weeks of closures. They changed the food to things the kids won't touch. They have let go staff who have been there over 25 years and have made the place overly corporate. I want a daycare who is there to love my children, kindercare makes it obvious they are only there to make profits. They have always had a bad reputation in our town and unfortunately I have now had to experience it first hand. read more

don't let the higher than 1 star rating fool you. the majority of the good ratings come from when the school was child garden. This Kindercare closed suddenly with only a day or 2 notice. now families are running around in an already over saturated need for openings in daycare. Here is the low down. "At this time, we think it's the best thing we can do for our families and children. Closing the center will give us time to hire and train new teachers."   lets be real, yes there is a low market for teachers but there were plently coming in. Is this the teacher's fault. HELL NO. It was all upper management. Train the upper management! have them put some care about their employees and the children. I know this because my child attended there and my wife was a teacher at this location. for instance... they sent out an email stating that when the school closes for covid that the parents now have to still pay for the first 3 days. Their reasoning is because they still have staffing that needs to be paid. OK, I can go with that, my wife was a teacher there and she had to quarantine many times without pay do to covid and I knew first hand how much that hurts. Did that money go to the teachers? OF COURSE NOT. they were told that in order to get paid for those days you would need both vaccines and the booster shot. Take a guess how many teachers had that. the answer is very close to 1. The teachers were very often over ratio and were made to keep the children outside in the cold in order to make it not seems so. It didn't matter if the teacher went to upper management, the answer was that they needed to stay out. even with children crying about the cold and WITHOUT JACKETS. There was a official complaint made with the government about one of these situations by one of the teachers and upper management tried putting the blame on the teachers by giving them disciplinary reports. you bet there was teachers walking out that day. lets talk about the 7:30 pm email sent out to the parents that the new hours effective the next day is now 7:00 am to 4:00pm ... yep the closure wasn't the first time they had parents scrambling. we were lucky that to have a flexible schedule at work to accommodate this. but many parents didn't. neither the hours change and the closure were communicated before hand to the teachers as well. It just happened. now all this was done in the few months that Kindercare took over and they can keep blaming it on the lack of or the quality of teachers but as long as they continue down this route ill continue to not suggest any teacher working there or any child attending there. read more

If I could give fewer stars I would.  This was the best daycare in Reno, until Kindercare took over.  The previous director and original staff prior to Kindercare were absolutely amazing.  They treated every child like their own and truly instilled great values in all of the children.  The amount of love and nurturing they gave each child was truly a miracle.   Once Kindercare purchased the property, everything went downhill, especially under the current regional director.  The lack of empathy for the individuals involved was heartbreaking.  The false promises and the lack of genuine care for the children, staff and families affected by the change was laughable, but extremely disappointing and heart wrenching.  I would NOT recommend Damonte Ranch Kindercare to anyone. read more
